my local joanns is closing. I am a sewist. I sew things. Yes I know about a plethora of online stores that are great but you can’t really thread match without having the thread and fabric in front of you. and a lot of the online stores that aren’t a million dollars per yard are wholesale and they don’t really have patterns. What the fuck am I gonna do. It’s just over for me I guess.

Joann fabrics is closing a TON of stores across the US. i'm super surprised this is happening so fast, but check online to find if a store near you is closing. get some deals if youre a hoarder like me!! this saturday (feb 16) starts liquidation. this will be a huge hit to crafters and makers, so if theres something youve been thinking about picking up or hunting for, now is the time. I remember seeing this original on TikTok, and had to comment on it, since tiktok got deleted, I didn’t get to see if anybody responded to my comment. But yeah. Here’s all the scoop in ma brain

“What happened to all the money I gave you? 🥺” none of these workers are getting payed well. Our branch offers 8.50 starting pay for team members, only goes up 50 cents a YEAR. Managers only get payed about 13/hr. Pre-Covid/during was about 10/hr for team members

Y’all McDonald’s and Waffle House gets paid more, respect to them tho
