I hated to do it, but I locked my stories to registered only readers because of AI scraping.

No more getting an email from ao3, opening it, and seeing a guest left kudos to a bunch of stories because they obviously, awesomely binged. No more emails with a comment notification that a guest was kind and generous enough to leave a note.

It's enraging. I post stories for people to read, not for some tech bros AI to steal.

With more and more Ao3 authors restricting their works to the archive (due to AI scraping), they're going to be losing guest interaction. And probably generally feeling down because. You know. AI is stealing their hard work.

So! Now is a great time to stop by your favorite authors/stories and drop them some comments! They really appreciate it!

I reached out to Alex but he was busy since it was the holiday weekend. So I had to settle for a stagedoor experience with Hugh Jackman instead. 😜

I am beat. My feet hurt from walking through NYC, I'm dehydrated, my hands are sore from clapping and my throat is raw from shouting and singing.

Totally worth it because:

At the end of the night, I got to squeeze Wolverine's hand!

Such a great show. Hugh is an incredible entertainer, just so engaging with the audience and fun. If he decides to do another live personal show in the future, I'm just going to bite the bullet and get front row seats.

4). What fandoms do you write for? At the moment, X-men. In the past: Beetlejuice, School of Rock, Rick and Morty, Resident Evil 8, Helluva Boss, Hellboy, Sherlock, A-Team, TMNT, Harry Potter, and also X-men way back when.

5). Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

Yes. If someone took the time to comment, they deserve a response. I have made great friends this way.

6). What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

It is not posted on line, but a story where the mc ends up killing all his loved while he's asleep, thinking he's saving them. He wakes to the carnage.

7). What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I don't know . . . I'm not really good at happy endings?

8). Do you get hate on fics?

Fuck yes. Remember Louise?

9). Do you write smut?

It is my calling.

10). Do you write crossovers?

Yes! Love them! I did a Sherlock/Harry Potter/X-men fic once and it was gloriously fun.

Yes! Dumb bitch thought she could steal my story and change literally one character's name with the rest of it exactly the same. Reported her and had it taken care of.

12). Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! Portugese and Hungarian!

13). Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Yes! I love writing with other people.

14). What's your all-time favorite ship?

Uhmm . . . I plead the fifth.

15). What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I started an ambitious Hank McCoy/Nosferatu fic earlier this year. I can't get the fire under my feet to finish it.

16). What are your writing strengths? Smut. Fight scenes. Realistic dialogue.

17). What are your writing weaknesses?

Elaborate descriptions and flowy, poetic language.

18). Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

As a dumb American, I don't speak any other languages. Writing in another language would be via google translate, which we're all aware is garbage. So I try to avoid it if possible.

19). First fandom you wrote for?

It was either GIJoe or Transformers. They were both roughly the same time.

20). Favorite fic you've ever written?

Whew, that's a tough one. I really liked the dialogue between Mycroft Holmes and Wolverine, so that specific story that has never been published on line, I guess. That's sort of a cop out, so I'll also say I like my "Dewey Finn is a vampire" stories (1, 2)

I suppose that would be Wanting, though I don't do angsty endings very often, I'm a softie and love happy endings.

I'd have to say that would be Doing The Unstuck, my Evan Green (Zero Day 2025) fic

No I've never gotten hate on my fics that I can think of.

I never have but I'm not against them, I have one I'm cooking up in my head right now but it's in the early stages (Godzilla X Kong/Alien crossover possibly)

Is it bad that my favorite is one of my own? I love my character Jenna with Frank from Abigail, I'm writing a second long fic about them right now.

I can't really think of anything I don't think I'll finish atm.

I think I'm pretty decent at the smutty parts of my stories, and writing romance is definitely my wheelhouse.

Impatience, I tend to rush things when I know I should give them more time and editing before posting.

18). Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I have written a few little things in German for my König fic, Wanting, but not much. I'd be willing to write dialogue in another language as long as I have someone who is fluent to look it over for me so it makes sense and sounds natural.

Have you ever heard of a crossover fic between School of Rock, Beetlejuice, and Resident Evil 8? I could have sworn a read the first chapter of a WIP a few years ago where Dewey and OFC get captured and are subjected to some kind of sex hypnosis ritual. Can you please tell me if that’s ringing a bell for you?? Thanks!

Broadway ticket prices (and why they're more and more outrageously priced)

When a trip to NYC to see a show costs roughly the same as a trip to Europe, there's something wrong.

I . . . wha-? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what the hell op is talking about here. If op doesn't want to engage, cool. But attempting to shame others . . . just . . . what?

I've contacted authors via their personal webpages and gotten back almost instantaneous replies. Op seems to think that only losers do this, but aren't writers people too? Are they not a social animal? Do they not like interaction? This is coming from someone much older than the 40?41? bullshit they mentioned and I respond to comments because I'm glad people took the time to let me know what they think. It doesn't change anything that I to; I don't farm for comments, I don't change what I write or how often I post. I'm deep into adulthood, am a parent, have a full time job, and don't expect people to fuck me because I said, "thank you!"

Op can live their life isolated and burning with misplaced rage. I'm going to chat with friends I've made who share similar interests via whatever communication we used to start talking.
