Today I have been making spirals. Then turning them into a nautilus.
This specific spiral is called the Spiral of Theodoros, an early mathematician who appears in one of Plato's dialogues.
The spiral is built out of right angled triangles, all of whose outside sides are the same lengths. Repeated applications of Pythagoras' Theorem tell us that the radial lines give the sequence of square roots of whole numbers: 1, √2, √3, etc.

While digging in the Canterlot Archives, I dug up an ancient parchment. It seems to be called the "Vitruvian Horse".
