The world had always been a quiet place for Y/N. Not the kind of quiet that felt peaceful, but the kind that stretched endlessly, filled only with the sound of her own footsteps echoing against empty streets.
She had always been alone.
Until she met Jungwon.
She remembered the exact moment. It was late autumn, the leaves scattering in restless spirals, when she sat on the swings at the old park near her school. That was when he appeared, hands tucked into the pockets of his black hoodie, eyes sharp and unreadable.
"You look pathetic."
Y/N had blinked up at him, startled. No one ever talked to herâno one ever noticed her.
"Excuse me?" she asked, narrowing her eyes.
Jungwon smirked, the kind of smirk that made her skin prickle. "Sitting here alone, staring at nothing. You look miserable."
She huffed, kicking at the ground. "Thanks for pointing it out."
But instead of walking away like she expected, Jungwon sat down on the swing beside her. He didnât say much after that, just sat there, watching the sky like he was lost in thought.
That was the start of it.
From that day on, Jungwon was always there. He showed up at school, walking beside her in the halls. He sat across from her during lunch, his gaze cold and distant, but never leaving her. He never spoke much, and when he did, his words were laced with something unreadableâsomething sharp, like he was keeping her at armâs length.
But he was there.
And that was enough.
For the first time, she had someone. Someone to talk to, someone to listen. Even if he was blunt, even if he never smiled, Jungwon cared in his own way. He was her best friend.
Then, at some point, without her realizing it, he became more than that.
It was terrifying to admit, but it was thereâthe way her heart clenched whenever he looked at her, the way her skin burned whenever he brushed against her.
She loved him.
And then, one day, everything shattered.
It was after school when it happened. Y/N was leaning against the lockers, arms crossed as she talked to Jungwon about something meaninglessâthe weather, maybe. He stood in front of her, hands in his pockets, his expression unreadable as always.
That was when a girl from her class, Minji, walked by. She slowed down, brows furrowing as she looked at Y/N.
"Uh⌠who are you talking to?"
Y/N blinked. "What?"
Minji glanced around, then back at her, confusion flickering in her eyes. "Thereâs no one there, Y/N."
The air turned cold.
Y/N let out a small, nervous laugh. "What do you mean? Jungwonâs rightâ"
She turned to look at him.
But he wasnât there.
Her breath caught in her throat. She spun around, searching, but the hallway was empty except for her and Minji.
No. No, this was a joke. This wasâ
"Y/N?" Minjiâs voice was softer now, cautious.
Y/N swallowed, forcing a smile. "IâI think I need some air."
She walked away before Minji could say anything else.
That night, she sat in her room, knees curled to her chest, hands trembling.
Jungwon had always been there. He had always been real. He had to be.
"You're lying to yourself," a voice murmured.
Her head snapped up. Jungwon stood in the corner of her room, arms crossed, watching her with an unreadable expression.
"Jungwon," she whispered, relief flooding her chest. "Youâre here. Minjiâshe couldnât see you, but youâre right hereâ"
"Y/N," he said, voice low, detached. "Think about it."
She shook her head violently. "No. Stop. Youâre real. Youâ"
"When have you ever seen me talk to anyone else?"
Her stomach twisted. "Jungwon, pleaseâ"
"When has anyone else ever acknowledged me?"
Her breath came in short, sharp gasps. "No. Youâyouâ"
His eyes softened, just barely, for the first time since she met him. "You were lonely," he said, almost gently. "You created me."
The room blurred around her. Her mind screamed at her to reject it, to fight itâbut deep down, in the place she had refused to look, she knew.
Jungwon had never existed.
Her best friend. The boy she loved. He was never real.
Y/N choked out a sob, pressing a hand to her mouth.
Jungwon sighed, stepping closer. For the first time, his cold demeanor cracked, just a little. "I was here because you needed me," he murmured. "But you donât need me anymore, Y/N."
"Yes, I do," she cried, reaching for him.
But the moment her fingers touched his, he began to fade.
"Jungwon, pleaseâ"
His form flickered, his eyes unreadable as ever, but there was something behind them now. Something gentle.
"Goodbye, Y/N."
Then he was gone.
And for the first time in years, Y/N was truly alone.

The world had ended long before Y/N realized she was truly alone. The apocalypse had turned friends into enemies, trust into a liability, and survival into a constant battle. Betrayal had left her with nothing but woundsâboth the kind that bled and the kind that didnât.
She had been part of a group once. She fought alongside them, protected them, and believed they would do the same. But when supplies ran low and desperation grew thick in the air, they turned on her.
"You're slowing us down," they had said, as if her exhaustion, her injuries, her loyalty meant nothing. They left her behind, bleeding and defenseless against the hordes of undead roaming the streets.
For days, Y/N barely survived, her body pushed beyond its limits. Infection threatened to take hold of her untreated wounds, and hunger gnawed at her insides like a beast. She had accepted that this might be the end.
Then they found her.
A group of seven boys. Armed, well-fed, wary.
And they hated her.
Jungwon stood at the front of the group, his dark eyes filled with calculation as he stared down at the half-conscious girl on the pavement.
"Sheâs injured," Jake observed, crouching beside her to check her wounds.
"And sheâs a liability," Ni-ki snapped, gripping his knife tightly. His jaw was clenched in irritation. "We donât need dead weight."
"Sheâs barely alive," Heeseung muttered, arms crossed. "She wonât last long anyway."
"Should we just leave her?" Sunghoon asked, though there was no sympathy in his toneâjust a practical coldness that had been necessary for survival.
Y/N forced her eyes open. "P-Please..." Her voice was weak, hoarse from days of dehydration. "I can... I can help..."
Jay scoffed, gripping his rifle. "Help? You canât even stand."
"You should be grateful we havenât shot you yet," Sunoo muttered, sharp-eyed as he studied her. He was the smart one, always thinking ahead. "For all we know, you could be working for another group. You could turn on us."
The words struck deeper than any wound. She had already been betrayedâhow could they think she would do the same?
But they didnât trust her. And why should they?
Jungwon sighed. "Jake, can you patch her up enough so she doesnât die in the next hour?"
Jake hesitated before nodding. "Iâll do what I can."
Ni-ki let out an annoyed sigh. "Fine. But the second she becomes a problem, Iâm ending this."
Staying with the boys was no easy task. They were cold, distant, and saw her as nothing more than a burden.
Ni-ki, especially, made it known that he didnât want her around.
"You should just leave," he told her one night as they rested in an abandoned gas station. "We donât need you slowing us down."
She didnât argue. She was too exhausted.
But she wasnât weak.
She forced herself to heal. She learned to keep up with them. She fought, scavenged, and proved she wasnât just some helpless girl.
Yet, they still treated her like an outsider.
Jungwon never let her make decisions. Heeseung ignored her input on routes. Jay barely spoke to her unless it was about weapons. Sunghoon was indifferent. Sunoo was suspicious. Jake was the only one who treated her with some decency.
And Ni-ki? He openly despised her.
"Why do you even bother?" he sneered one morning as she sharpened a knife. "No matter how much you try, youâll never really be part of us."
Y/N met his glare with tired eyes. "I donât need to be part of you. I just need to survive."
He scoffed. "Good luck with that."
Everything changed the night the horde came.
They had set up camp in an abandoned school, thinking they were safe. They werenât.
The moans of the undead filled the air, the sound of shuffling bodies growing closer.
"We need to moveânow!" Jungwon ordered, grabbing his weapon.
The group scrambled, fighting off the zombies that broke through the windows. Y/N didnât hesitateâshe grabbed her knife and fought alongside them.
Jay fired shot after shot, Sunghoon took down the infected with brutal efficiency, and Heeseung led them through the chaos.
Then Y/N saw it.
A zombie lunging at Ni-ki from behind.
Without thinking, she threw herself forward, tackling it to the ground before it could sink its teeth into him. The creature snarled beneath her, snapping its rotten jaws, but she plunged her knife into its skull.
Silence.
Ni-ki stared at her, eyes wide, breath uneven.
She had saved him.
After that night, things changed.
Ni-ki avoided herâbut not out of hatred. He didnât know how to look at her anymore.
Jake started talking to her more. "That was impressive," he admitted as he cleaned a wound on her arm. "Not many people wouldâve done that."
"She still couldâve let him die," Jay muttered, but there was less bite in his words.
Y/N just shrugged. "I donât leave people behind."
The words hit deeper than she intended.
Jungwon, ever the leader, nodded. "Maybe we misjudged you."
Maybe. But trust was hard-earned.
Over time, the tension faded.
Heeseung started asking for her input on maps. Sunoo actually smiled at her once. Sunghoon trained with her. Jay let her handle a gun.
And Ni-ki?
He still avoided her sometimes, but he no longer looked at her with pure hatred. One night, as they sat by the fire, he finally spoke.
"Youâre not as useless as I thought," he muttered.
Y/N smirked. "Coming from you, Iâll take that as a compliment."
He rolled his eyes but didnât argue.
They still had a long way to go. The world was still broken, and danger lurked in every shadow.
But for the first time in a long time, Y/N wasnât alone.
And maybeâjust maybeâshe had found a place to belong.
Hunting had become easier now that the group had started trusting Y/Nâat least, most of them. She was walking beside Heeseung, scanning the abandoned city outskirts for any movement. They needed food, and after days of barely scraping by, they couldnât afford to come back empty-handed.
"Youâre quieter than usual," Heeseung noted, adjusting the strap of his rifle.
Y/N shrugged. "Just thinking."
"About?"
She hesitated. "Ni-ki. He still doesnât trust me, does he?"
Heeseung exhaled through his nose, glancing at her. "Itâs not about you."
Y/N frowned. "Then what is it?"
For a while, he didnât answer. The only sound was the wind moving through the abandoned streets, the distant echoes of the dead somewhere far off. Then, in a quiet voice, Heeseung finally said, "A few months ago, we found someone. A guy. He was injured, desperateâjust like you."
Y/Nâs stomach tightened. "What happened?"
Heeseungâs grip on his gun tightened. "We took him in. Ni-ki didnât trust him from the start, but the rest of us thought he deserved a chance." He sighed, his expression dark. "He proved Ni-ki right."
Y/N swallowed.
"He killed someone we loved," Heeseung continued, his voice heavy with something deeper than angerâgrief. "Ni-kiâs best friend. The one person he trusted most in this world. He used her as a threat, he wanted our supplies but even when we gave him what he wanted... He killed her Infront of us."
Y/Nâs breath hitched. No wonder Ni-ki looked at her like she was a threat. No wonder he flinched whenever she got too close.
"Iâm not him," she whispered.
"I know," Heeseung said, looking at her. "But Ni-ki doesnât. Not yet."
Y/N didnât say anything else. She just looked ahead, gripping the knife at her side a little tighter.
That night, as Y/N stood outside on watch duty, she heard a voice.
"Well, well. Didnât expect to see a new face here."
She turned sharply, hand flying to her knife. A man stood near the trees, partially hidden in the shadows. He was grinning.
"Who are you?" Y/N demanded.
The man tilted his head. "No one important. But I was once." His smirk widened. "Youâre in their little group now, huh? Let me guessâNi-ki hates you?"
Her blood ran cold.
He chuckled. "Figures. He never did trust easy. But you? You remind me of myself."
"Iâm nothing like you."
He raised his hands. "Sure, sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night." His eyes darkened. "Tell them I said hello."
Then he disappeared into the woods.
Y/N stood frozen, heart pounding.
A twig snapped behind her. She turnedâNi-ki stood there, eyes wild with panic. He had heard everything.
"Ni-kiâ"
But before she could say anything, he bolted.
By the time they realized Ni-ki was gone, it was too late.
"He went after him," Jay growled, gripping his gun.
"Alone?" Jungwonâs expression was hard, unreadable. "Damn it."
"We need to go," Jake said. "Now."
They ran. Through the woods, past the old buildings, tracking Ni-kiâs footprints in the dirt.
Then they found it.
A bodyâno, a man. Crawling. His leg was covered in blood, a bullet wound in his thigh. He was screaming, trying to drag himself away.
And behind him, the dead were coming.
Ni-ki stood there, watching, gun lowered.
"Heâs done," he muttered.
They should have left him.
They didnât.
Jungwon fired a shot, killing a zombie before it could reach the injured man. He looked at Ni-ki, furious. "We donât leave people to be eaten alive."
"He deserved it," Ni-ki spat.
"Thatâs not the point!"
But the damage was done. The man lived. Barely. And vengeance never dies.
Days passed. They thought it was over. That they were safe.
Then the attack came.
The man had returnedâwith people. Armed. Dangerous.
Gunshots rang out in the night.
"They found us!" Sunghoon shouted, grabbing his knife.
"Move!" Jungwon ordered. "We have to leaveânow!"
The camp burned. Supplies were lost. But they had no choice.
They ran.
And as Y/N looked back one last time, she saw him. The man Ni-ki had left to die.
Grinning.
Because this wasnât over.
The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows over the abandoned city as Y/N and Ni-ki walked in silence. The others had sent them out to hunt, but the air between them was thick with unspoken tension.
Ni-ki hadnât spoken much since the night he had confronted the person responsible for his best friendâs fate. He had thought that justice would bring closureâbut instead, it left an emptiness inside him, one that gnawed at his chest like the dangers lurking in the ruins.
"Youâre quiet," Y/N finally said, breaking the silence.
"So are you," he muttered, kicking a stray rock.
She hesitated before speaking again. "You did what you had to do."
Ni-kiâs jaw tightened. "I left them to their fate."
"They deserved worse," Y/N said without hesitation.
His head snapped toward her, surprise flashing in his dark eyes.
"If it were me," she continued, gripping her knife tighter, "I wouldâve done the same. Noâworse."
Ni-ki stared at her, searching her face for any sign of doubt. But there was none.
For so long, he had felt alone in his anger, in his need for justice. But now? Someone understood.
And for the first time, guilt twisted inside him.
"Youâre not like me," he said quietly.
"Maybe I am," Y/N replied, meeting his gaze. "And maybe thatâs not a bad thing."
Ni-ki looked away. He didnât know if he should feel relieved or afraid.
By the time they returned to camp, something was wrong.
The fire was still burning. Their supplies were scattered. But the air was too still.
"Where are they?" Y/N whispered, reaching for her knife.
A rustle. A footstep.
Thenâ
A hand grabbed Ni-ki from behind, shoving him to the ground. Another wrapped around Y/Nâs arm, forcing her back.
Strangers. Armed. Dangerous.
"Well, well," a gruff voice sneered. "The last two left."
Y/Nâs heart pounded as she struggled. She could see them nowâthe others. Jungwon, Jay, Heeseung, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Jake. Tied up, bruised.
Trapped.
"Let them go," Ni-ki growled, struggling against his captor.
The man holding Y/N chuckled. "Oh, youâre not in a position to make demands, kid." He pressed a weapon against her ribs. "But since youâre here, weâve got a better deal. How about this?"
He looked at the rest of the group.
"One of you doesnât make it. The rest get to leave."
Silence.
Y/Nâs stomach twisted. She could see itâthe way Jungwon was already calculating, the way Jakeâs hands clenched, the way Sunghoon was shifting on his feet, ready to fight.
Then she made her choice.
"Take me," Y/N said.
Ni-kiâs head snapped toward her. "What?"
"You want someone gone, right?" she said to the man, voice steady despite the fear clawing at her throat. "Then take me."
The man grinned. "Brave. But foolish."
He pulled the trigger.
A shot rang out.
But Y/N never felt it.
Because Ni-ki had stepped in front of her.
The bullet tore through him, his body jerking as he collapsed to the ground.
"Ni-ki!" Y/N screamed, catching him before he hit the dirt.
The world blurred. The shouting. The chaos.
She didnât care.
All she could see was Ni-ki, his face pale, his breath shaky.
"You idiot," she choked, pressing her hands to the wound.
He gritted his teeth, his grip on her tightening. "Told you... youâre not like me."
Then his eyes fluttered closed.
And the fight wasnât over.
It had only just begun.

You deserve better~
You sat on the edge of your bed, knees pulled to your chest as you tried to stop the wave of emotions rushing over you. Youâd spent hours with a heavy heart since the breakup, replaying the words over and over in your head. It didnât matter that the relationship had been far from perfect â it still hurt.
A gentle knock on your door pulled you from your thoughts. Before you could respond, Sunghoon peeked his head in, his usual bright smile replaced with a worried expression. âHey, I came as soon as I could.â
You gave a faint nod, trying to hide the tears threatening to spill over. But Sunghoon was too quick; his gaze softened, and he crossed the room to sit beside you. âYou donât have to pretend with me,â he whispered, brushing a stray tear off your cheek.
The next thing you knew, he was wrapping his arms around you, pulling you close in a comforting embrace. It was warm and safe, everything youâd been needing. As you leaned into him, the tears finally fell freely, and he just held you, rubbing small circles on your back.
After a while, the tears slowed, and you found yourself looking up at him, feeling a bit embarrassed. âSorry, Sunghoon⌠I didnât mean to drag you into this.â
âDonât apologize,â he replied softly, meeting your gaze. His fingers lingered on your shoulder, and there was something in his eyes you hadnât noticed before â a tenderness, maybe, or something even deeper. âYou know Iâd be here for you, no matter what.â
You could only stare back at him, wondering if you were imagining things. Before you could say anything, he spoke again, his voice softer than before. âActually⌠I wanted to tell you something. I wasnât sure if I should, but⌠seeing you like thisâŚâ He hesitated, then took a deep breath. âIâve liked you for a while now. More than a friend, I mean.â
Your heart skipped a beat, his words sinking in as you watched him, his cheeks flushing slightly. For a moment, the pain of the breakup felt a little further away. âYou⌠you really mean that?â
He nodded, his fingers grazing yours. âI know you need time to heal. But I want you to know Iâll be here, whenever youâre ready.â
You felt a small smile tugging at your lips. Sunghoon had always been your anchor, your comfort in tough times. And right now, all you wanted was to be close to him. âThank you, Sunghoon⌠for everything.â
He wrapped his arms around you again, and you leaned into his warmth, finding a sense of peace you hadnât felt in days. As he held you, the two of you settled into a comfortable silence, and before long, you found yourselves lying side by side, wrapped in each otherâs warmth, feeling safe in the quietness of his steady breathing.

Cuddle her better
Y/N lay comfortably on her bed, cuddling her favorite teddy bear close, the soft fluffiness bringing her comfort as she scrolled through her phone. She barely noticed when San walked in, a playful smirk on his face that quickly shifted to a pout when he saw her snuggling the bear instead of him.
He crossed his arms, tilting his head with a raised eyebrow. âSo, youâre choosing him over me again, huh?â
Y/N looked up, a bit surprised. âWhat are you talking about?â
San pointed accusingly at the bear. âThat bear! Every time I come over, youâre cuddling him instead of me. Itâs like Iâm not even here!â
She couldnât help but laugh at his serious expression. âSan, itâs just a teddy bear. Besides, Iâve had him forever!â
âBut Iâm better than some stuffed bear!â he protested, moving to sit beside her on the bed. âIâm warmer, bigger, and I can hold you back.â
âOh really?â she teased, hugging the bear a bit tighter just to see his reaction.
Sanâs pout deepened as he leaned closer, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. âFine. If youâre not going to share those cuddles, Iâll just have to steal them.â
Before she could respond, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her and the bear into a snug embrace. Y/N laughed as San nuzzled his face into her shoulder, squeezing her tightly.
âYou know,â he mumbled, âI donât get jealous often, but I canât believe Iâm competing with a bear.â
Y/N leaned back to look at him, her smile softening. âOkay, fine. Iâll admit itâyouâre a pretty good cuddle buddy too.â
âJust pretty good?â he teased, his fingers tickling her side until she giggled. âI think I can do better than that.â
With that, he took the bear from her arms and placed it gently on the bedside table. Then he lay down, pulling her into his chest with a big, satisfied grin. âSee? Much better, right?â
Y/N snuggled into him, feeling the warmth of his embrace and the steady beat of his heart. She smiled, wrapping her arms around him. âAlright, you win. Youâre definitely a better cuddle buddy.â
San chuckled, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. âGood, because Iâm not letting you go.â
And with that, they settled into each otherâs arms, with San happily claiming victory over the teddy bear.

I trust you ~
Y/N found Sunoo in his room, leaning against the wall with his head in his hands. His breaths were shallow, and his normally bright eyes were dark, his fangs barely visible as he tried to steady himself. She knew what this meant; Sunoo hadnât fed in days, trying to resist, but it was taking a toll.
âSunoo,â she said softly, moving toward him. His head snapped up, and he backed away, a pained look in his eyes.
âY/N, donât,â he managed, his voice rough. âI canât⌠I donât want to hurt you.â
But Y/N only came closer, her eyes gentle and reassuring. âYouâre not going to hurt me,â she said quietly. âI trust you.â
He shook his head, his hands clenched at his sides. âYou donât understand. Itâs hard to stop once I start⌠I donât want to lose control.â
Y/N reached up, cupping his face in her hands, her thumbs brushing lightly against his cheekbones. She could see the struggle in his eyes, the part of him that wanted to protect her fighting against his own nature.
âThen donât hold back,â she whispered. âIâm offering this to you. I want to help.â
He hesitated, his gaze locked with hers, searching for any sign of fear. But Y/N only looked back at him with trust, tilting her head slightly to the side and exposing her neck.
Sunooâs resolve wavered, his eyes flicking to her neck. His fangs lengthened, and he took a slow, shaky breath. âAre you sure?â he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
She nodded, her heart racing but steady. âIâm sure.â
He leaned forward, his lips brushing against her skin, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. He hesitated one last time, his breath warm against her neck, before finally sinking his fangs in. There was a quick sting, then a strange warmth as he drank, his grip tightening on her arms as he held her close.
Y/Nâs fingers curled into his shirt as he drank, his presence both comforting and intense. She felt his careful control, the way he slowed himself down, drinking only what he needed. When he finally pulled back, he looked at her with awe, his eyes clear and bright once more.
âThank you,â he murmured, pressing his forehead against hers. âI donât deserve this, but⌠thank you.â
Y/N gave him a soft smile, her fingers brushing through his hair. âI trust you, Sunoo. I always will.â
They stayed there, wrapped in eachother's arms.

Sweet Revenge ~
The pain shot through Y/Nâs arm as she stumbled back, clutching the wound tightly. The mission had gone wrong in every possible way. She knew it the second her cover was blown, but by then, it was too late. She barely made it back to base, her vision blurring as the adrenaline wore off.
Woozi was already waiting when she arrived, his eyes narrowing the second he saw her injuries. He took a step forward, his usually calm demeanor breaking as he looked over her bruises and the blood seeping through her jacket.
âWho did this to you?â he asked, his voice dangerously low.
Y/N tried to downplay it, managing a weak smile. âItâs nothing I can't handle, Woozi. Just⌠a bad run.â
But he was having none of it. He moved closer, his hand gentle as he cupped her face, his thumb brushing lightly against her cheek. âNothing you canât handle? Look at you. I warned you about going in without backup.â
She knew he was angry, but beneath it, she saw the concern in his eyes, the raw fear of almost losing her. Before she could say another word, he motioned to one of his men. âTake her to the medical room and make sure sheâs taken care of,â he ordered. âAnd find out where the ones responsible are hiding.â
âWoozi, please, donâtâŚâ she started, but he shook his head.
âNo one touches whatâs mine and gets away with it,â he said, his voice cold, his gaze unwavering. âRest and recover. Iâll handle the rest.â
The determination in his voice sent a chill through her. Y/N knew he meant every word. Woozi didnât tolerate betrayal, and seeing her hurt had awakened a side of him that was both terrifying and strangely comforting.
Once she was bandaged and resting, Woozi made his way out, his face set in a grim expression. He gathered his men, briefing them on the mission ahead. His eyes were sharp, his every word calm but lethal. They all knew what was comingâthe boss was out for revenge, and he wouldnât stop until heâd sent a message.
Hours later, when he finally returned, his hands bore traces of the fight, and his clothes were slightly disheveled, but his expression was one of quiet satisfaction. He entered her room, sitting by her side and brushing a gentle hand over her hair.
âAll taken care of,â he murmured, his voice much softer now.
She looked up at him, still weak but with a small smile. âYou didnât have to go that far.â
He gave her a look, his eyes softening only for her. âYouâre everything to me, Y/N. Iâd burn the whole world if anyone dared to hurt you.â
She reached up, resting her hand against his, feeling the warmth and the comfort of his presence. As he leaned down to press a soft kiss to her forehead, she knew that as long as Woozi was by her side, no one would ever dare to lay a hand on her again.

In good hands
Y/N lay on the couch, feeling completely miserable. Her head was pounding, her throat ached, and every part of her felt heavy and exhausted. She had tried to power through the day, but her cold finally got the best of her.
Just as she closed her eyes, the sound of a key turning in the lock made her look up. Jeongin walked in, carrying a bag full of groceries and wearing a worried expression. He knelt beside her, gently pressing the back of his hand to her forehead.
âYouâre burning up,â he murmured, concern filling his voice. âWhy didnât you call me?â
She gave a weak shrug, managing a small smile. âDidnât want to bother youâŚâ
Jeongin shook his head, an affectionate look in his eyes. âYou could never bother me. Now, lie back and let me take care of you, okay?â
She didnât resist, leaning back as he went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and some medicine. He returned a moment later, helping her sit up so she could take the pills. His hand stayed on her back, rubbing in slow circles as she swallowed the medicine.
âDrink up,â he said, handing her the water with a gentle smile. âI got some things to make you feel better.â
After she drank the water, Jeongin draped a soft blanket over her and started setting things up in the kitchen. She watched him with drowsy eyes as he carefully made a pot of soup, humming softly to himself. The warmth of the blanket and the sound of his humming made her eyelids feel heavy.
Soon enough, he came back over, kneeling beside her with a bowl of steaming soup and a smile. âEat a little bit, okay?â he said, carefully blowing on a spoonful before bringing it to her lips. âI made it just how you like.â
She took a few bites, comforted by the warmth and flavor, and Jeonginâs soft gaze stayed on her the entire time. âYouâre too good to me,â she mumbled, feeling both grateful and a little shy under his care.
Jeongin chuckled, brushing a stray hair from her face. âWell, I care about you. Taking care of you isnât hardâitâs the only place Iâd want to be.â
After sheâd eaten, he tidied up and then settled beside her, gently pulling her close so she could rest against his chest. His hand traced soothing patterns on her arm, and his voice was a gentle murmur as he talked about his day, filling the room with a comforting warmth.
As her eyes began to close, she felt his lips press a gentle kiss to her forehead. âGet some sleep, Y/N,â he whispered. âIâm not going anywhere.â
And as she drifted off in his arms, Y/N felt safe, loved, and grateful that she had Jeongin there, taking care of her in every way she needed.

Perfect the way you are ~
Y/N stood in front of the mirror, tugging at her shirt and sighing. No matter what she did, she couldnât shake the thoughts swirling in her mind. Today had been one of those days where nothing seemed to fit right, and every glance in the mirror brought up insecurities she thought sheâd left behind.
She didnât hear Jeongin come up behind her until his arms gently circled her waist. He rested his chin on her shoulder, glancing at her reflection with a soft smile. âWhatâs on your mind?â he asked quietly.
Y/N shook her head, avoiding his eyes. âItâs nothing. Just... I donât know. Sometimes I feel like Iâm not...â
âNot what?â he pressed gently, his tone warm and caring.
She hesitated, taking a shaky breath. âI just feel... fat sometimes,â she admitted, barely above a whisper.
Jeonginâs expression softened, and he turned her around to face him, his hands resting lightly on her waist. âHey,â he whispered, tilting her chin up so she couldnât avoid his gaze. âYou are perfect, just as you are.â
She tried to look away, but he held her gaze. He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, then to her cheek, moving slowly, as if he wanted her to feel each one. âDo you know how beautiful you are?â he murmured against her skin. âI love every part of you.â
Y/N felt her cheeks warm as he continued, his lips trailing down to her jaw and then to her neck. âThese insecurities donât define you,â he said between kisses, his voice barely a whisper. âYouâre strong, kind, and gorgeous... and Iâll keep reminding you of that until you believe it.â
He moved down, pressing kisses along her collarbone, his hands never leaving her waist, holding her close. She felt his warmth and the sincerity in each kiss, and a small smile crept onto her face despite herself.
Jeongin looked up, noticing the hint of a smile, and his face brightened. âThere it is,â he said softly. âThatâs the smile I love.â
With that, he pulled her into a tight hug, holding her like he never wanted to let go. âWhenever you start to feel like this, remember Iâm here to remind you how incredible you are,â he whispered, his breath warm against her skin. âEvery single part of you is precious to me.â
Y/N closed her eyes, feeling the weight of her insecurities start to lift. In Jeonginâs embrace, with his gentle kisses and whispered words, she began to believe him, little by little.

Stay Close ~
Y/N barely managed to put her bag down before she felt a warm pair of arms wrap around her from behind. Jake had been waiting for her to get back all day and clearly couldnât hold back any longer.
âFinally,â he murmured against her shoulder, burying his face in her neck. âDo you know how long Iâve been waiting?â
Y/N laughed, trying to turn around in his hold, but he held her tightly, refusing to let go. âJake, itâs only been a few hours.â
âToo long,â he mumbled, his voice slightly muffled by her hoodie. âDo you have any idea how lonely I feel today?â
âOh, I can tell.â She patted his arm, which only made him cling tighter, squeezing her like he was afraid sheâd slip away.
Eventually, he loosened his hold, letting her turn around, but he kept his arms firmly around her waist. She looked up at him, amused by how pouty he looked, and raised an eyebrow. âWhatâs gotten into you today?â
âI donât know,â he said, shrugging with a small smile. âI just missed you. Is that a crime?â
Y/N chuckled. âNo, but I didnât know youâd miss me this much. Did something happen?â
Jake shook his head, still looking at her with those warm, sleepy eyes. âNah, I just... I donât know, I just want to be close to you. Is that okay?â
âOf course it is,â she whispered, brushing a stray piece of hair from his face. She couldnât help but smile at how adorable he looked when he was being clingy like this.
âGood,â he said, his arms tightening again as if he wanted to merge with her entirely. âBecause Iâm not letting you go. Not for the rest of the night.â
They spent the evening just like that, wrapped up on the couch with Jakeâs arms around her, his head resting on her shoulder, and his fingers absentmindedly playing with her hair. He insisted on staying close the entire time, only letting go when absolutely necessaryâand even then, only after a dramatic sigh and a reluctant look.
By the time the night ended, Y/N had lost count of how many times heâd hugged her, leaned on her, or held her hand. And as they curled up in bed, Jake pulled her closer, resting his forehead against hers.
âGoodnight, Y/N,â he whispered, his voice soft and drowsy. âDonât go anywhere, okay?â
âDonât worry,â she murmured back, wrapping her arms around him in return. âIâm not going anywhere.â
And with that, Jake drifted off, his arms still firmly around her, as if to make sure sheâd stay right there, close to him, all night.
