I’m back! It is very strange to think that it has been over 5 years since I wrote on here most days. I think this is the best time ever to pick it back up - a sort of comforting activity in these strange times. 
As another lockdown begins, I am trying to focus on the good that came from the last one. Time to apply and interview (successfully!) for my dream job, time to move to a beautiful new flat (although unexpectedly), time with my boyfriend that brought us even closer (if that’s even possible!). All things that I don’t think would have happened without the shift in perspective and forced slower pace of life. 
Last lockdown, I was also very proactive about staying healthy and happy, running loads, cooking loads of interesting food, doing things for the old brain! I haven’t dropped the ball there, I like to think, overall, I take pretty good care of my mind these days after a hard lesson learnt - best not to go there (!) but am excited to put even more focus on that for the next month. 
I’d like to aim to go into Christmas, feeling really strong and happy within myself, excited to be present and spend quality time with family & friends, which will hopefully be a possibility. To meet my aim and go the extra mile for the brain and to better myself, this is my plan (writing it here for accountability):
1. Continue to run (at least) three times a week - I am closing in on my 1000km in 2020 goal, with only around 150km to go now, so got to keep it up!
2. Do the Alice Liveing 28 day challenge, it will be fun to have a reason to get up at 7am and workout, also the ‘Live’ aspect of it will feel very social and different, looking forward to this one. 
3. MOBILITY - Something I have dropped the ball on, in a big way, at least one Yoga or Pilates session a week is needed, even just to keep everything in order, I definitely feel the difference now that I haven’t been prioritising this!
4. Interesting Cooking - Although we do pretty well to eat all in moderation, I can be a bit lazy when it comes to effort, simple meals aplenty over here - going to put some time into utilizing the cookbooks we have and cook up a storm! I always feel better for unwinding, listening to some music or a podcast while cooking for us. 
5. Hydration - could do better here, generally - I am quite sensitive to dehydration so I drink probably ~enough~ water but, can for sure do more to make sure I am keeping myself topped up throughout the day, keeping that skin glowing aha.
6. Reaching out to extended family - The immediate family are never off the phone, which keeps me connected and happy - that said, my aunts, uncles and cousins, I could certainly do more to strengthen these bonds and keep them close. So this will be a focus this time round. 
I have every intention of spending a little time here everyday, reflecting on how the day went, how I’m feeling and things I am grateful for, and I suppose, that’s number 7. Journaling? 
What is it about writing something down that just makes you feel so much better?
