Them <3
maybe the trick to character designing for me is to be absolutly exhausted while I'm doing it. I've done 4 characters in the last like day and a half and I'm tired as all hell lol

The Hills
the horror forest this place is dedicated to :)
this one's mostly general stuff about the trees and all that but i have put way too much thought into all this and this is barely scratching the surface of the doc i have
we're doing this in bullet points because its easy and that's how my google doc is set up
the Hills are this huge deep dark forest that gets darker and more dangerous the further in you wander
weirder and more dangerous creatures the further you go in
once you get past a certain point walking into the Hills, there's no turning back and you can no longer get out the way you came in, even if you turn a perfect 180 and walk straight back the way you came
the trees slowly change their heights in the deepest parts (the Depths) and it looks like a really slow moving ocean
the waves never reach the shores of the forest, they get smaller and smaller the closer to the edge of the forest you get
three layers to the forest; the shallows, the mid-depths, and the Depths (the Depths is the only one with a concrete name), the shallows are pretty much mostly normal forest, the Depths are the darkest and most dangerous part of the forest, and the in between is, ya know, somewhere between them
not a lot of light in the Depths, its just about pitch black at noon on a sunny day in there
there's no one permanent deepest point of the Hills, it shifts with the crests of the waves
also they're called the Hills because of a really specific sentence that popped into my head out of nowhere: something like "people always say to 'run for the hills' but nobody's actually dumb enough to run towards them; the things in the Hills are worse than anything you could be running from out here"
thats all i can bring myself to transfer over here for now lol maybe more later
