a/n : I love undead and believe strongly in the thought that they are a happy, found family. This was inspired by my good friends shua and qian (@/s4egusas & @/nazukisser, respectively). The main inspiration for this was based on shua’s piece before they archived their blog, in which said piece was the love languages for rei, natsume and kanata. The descriptions were inspired by qian in her piece “the little things" that made me want to write my own take on this!

Rei ⎯ Quality time & words of affirmation

With words like honey, he sings praises of you. Oh, how he is so smitten with you and never ceases to make you feel loved. He is generous in dosing you with the tantalizing rose water of his love, only desiring to feed you the sweetest nectar. He wishes to spend the rest of his life with you and solely you. And so, Rei vows to encapsulate you in a netting of safety⎯ his arms forevermore.

Kaoru ⎯ Quality time and words of affirmation (and a little bit of physical touch)

As someone who has spent a vast majority of his time soughting for girls to love, Kaoru only asks for someone to reciprocate his affections in earnest. He wants someone to love him as he loves them. His prayers were heard ⎯ a wish upon the stars brought you, clad in glittering robes of stardust to him. He never could have been more grateful for your timely arrival into his life. With sincere, albeit a little clumsy words, he professes his admiration for you. Taking your hand into his, he offers you a heartfelt smile that says ‘thank you’. 

 

Koga  ⎯  Quality time and acts of service 

Koga is not the easiest person to get along with, let alone finding someone to love (or at least that is what he thinks). Hence he was startled when you came up to him, envelope in hands and determination in your eyes. Thrusting your heart in the sealed letter out to him, you spoke the words he never expected to hear one day. Initially he was ready to call you out on your bluff, laugh it off even. But once he caught sight of the honest sparkle in your eyes, he knew that you meant the truth. With cheeks kissed by a lovely shade of pink, he snatched your written confession out of your hands, mumbling something unintelligible underneath his breath. He still remembers your excerpt of your feelings to him, stamped by a small red heart sticker⎯ so simple yet so you. He vows to spend as much time as he can with you, and to help you overcome any adversaries. His way of saying thank you for looking past his rocky exterior, and finding that bed of down within.

Adonis ⎯ Quality time and physical touch (also acts of service)

Adonis is mellow in all aspects ⎯ his touch, his gaze, his kisses, his words, his love. Like liquorice complemented by the perfect wine, it is rich yet not enough to leave you feeling congested; rather you want more of it. Adonis loves like the finest ambrosia, leaving you yearning for more. He speaks each syllable of gratitude with his eyes and warm hugs to you, an occasional soft ‘I love you’ pouring from his lips. He plans to bring you to pay a visit to his homeland one day, charting out the rest of his life with you.

how to get custom coloured text

it’s easier on laptop/pc, but i do it on phone. the website i use is https://gradientext.surge.sh, and it has a tutorial on how to do it! i think theirs is easier to understand but it’ll still explain now i do it on phone too😭

ONE — OPEN UP THE WEBSITES ON YOUR BROWSER

you can’t use the tumblr app for this, so log into your tumblr account using safari / google. in another tab, open https://gradientext.surge.sh

TWO — COPY THE TEXT YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECOLOUR AND PASTE IT INTO GRADIENTEXT.SURGE

THREE — MESS AROUND WITH THE COLOUR SCHEME UNTIL YOU FIND A GRADIENT YOU LIKE.

press convert, and you will be presented with a lengthy string of html.

FOUR — COPY THE HTML CODE, AND SWITCH TO THE TAB WITH TUMBLR ON.

then, switch tabs to the tumblr draft with your text in, and press edit.

there are three different text editor settings: rich text, which is the default, html, and markdown.

SWITCH YOUR TEXT EDITOR SETTINGS TO HTML.

FIVE — PASTE YOUR CODE INTO THE SECTION WHERE YOUR TEXT WAS PREVIOUSLY.

It's so important to remember that tumblr is bad. Has been bad. And will likely remain bad for the foreseeable future. And that is vital to our survival. If Tumblr was a good website that worked, it would get turned into a corporate hellscape like every other site. It's so important that Tumblr is broken and poorly run and impossible to effectively navigate. It's all that's keeping us safe.
