After almost a year of ADHD hijacking my brain, I started this book for the third time and finished it in less than a week! Bob Odenkirk, in addition to being such an incredible comedian and actor, is an amazing writer. Razor sharp insights and a genuine, warm love for what he does and the artists he does it with. I strongly recommend the audio book experience because, as any perform worth their salt knows, it's all in the delivery. You truly won't believe how many of your favorite sketches and bits of comedy Odenkirk has had a hand in.
My dad has had the theory for years that comedians transition more smoothly into drama than dramatic actors can transition into comedy. I inherited this belief and this book is a very convincing thesis on that concept.
Through his improv and sketch comedy career, Odenkirk is relentless and brutally honest when it comes to what's funny and, even more so, what isn't. He prioritizes what's truthful and genuine. He created prodigiously and was always hunting for the next project. All of these qualities are recognizable in the man behind the larger than life Saul Goodman and the all too human tragedy that is Jimmy McGill.
Sincere and entertaining, anyone who sets foot in the entertainment industry would benefit from Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama by Bob Odenkirk.
(Also, again, borrow the audiobook on Libby. His performance is fantastic and you should always support your local library!)

Give a listen as I put twenty plus years of hyperfixation to good use and talk about all the things to watch & love about Turtle Power!

"oh but your favorite shows are going to be delayed by the strikes" my favorite shows consistently get cancelled after 2 excellent seasons bc of the exploitive corporate greed that these strikes are fighting against

It's crazy that these strikes are happening given that all the writers and actors are asking for is less than 0.3% of the revenue these studios make.
