To everyone who made suggestions for my "Songs that Haunt Historians" playlist, here it is!!!
I plan on updating it as I wish going forward, but I really wanted to go ahead and share what's there.
As a reminder, the general gist is these are songs that:
1. I get stuck in my head at my historical job
2. Are historical event or person related
3. Are used or overused in documentaries and period dramas.
4. Just weirdly get evoked by thinking about certain historical events or people.
5. Idk, they just Vibe, it's a playlist, it's for fun

Study Moods
I loved @howtomusicmajor‘s posts about study moods, so I decided to make my own!!!! Theses ones are based more off of subjects….
History: Epic music mixes and/or RPG Battlefield soundscape from mynoise.net, or classic piano music, strong black tea or espresso, on a large wooden table to make room for all your textbooks, notes, mind maps, flashcards, and laptop.
Literature/Art History: Classical music, or music based on the book you may be reading, green tea, Earl Grey, or a cappuccino. In a coffee shop or on your living room floor. Don’t forget the highlighters and sticky notes!
Geometry: Soundtracks or music from the Study Music YouTube channel. Latte or Earl Grey tea, at your desk/breakfast nook/dining room table. Do lots of practice problems, and use the Feyman technique.
This was my first study mood ever. Used it for everything.
Biology/Science: Nature sounds, like rain or something. Herbal tea, lemon water, or iced coffee. Do outside, or at a sunny spot.
Languages: Soft classical music (especially if it was composed in the country whose language you are studying), or fireplace sounds. Water to clear the throat, and hot cocoa or a drink from the target language country! Wrapped up in a comforter on the carpet.
Also nice for just a cozy session.
You can always mix them up, I like to use the literature/art history mood for history sometimes.
HAVE FUNNNNN!

why are singer biographies generally like this:
[soprano] has wanted to be an opera singer since kindergarten. at age 3, she has already seen the complete works of verdi. at 11, she created her own piano version of the ring. after finishing school, she went to conservatory and immediately won every prize. she bludgeoned to competition to d**th to become an ensemble member at [world-famous opera house] at 22, and now enjoys a sensational career world-wide.
[baritone/bass] initially studied physics and then sociology and then zoology. he never sung a single note until he was 23 and then sang in a local choir very badly for 10 years. he began his vocal education after completing his certification as a car mechanic. he is now an mainstay at the worlds most prestigious opera venues.
[…and they’re both incredibly good artists.]

Resources for Singers with Chronic Health Conditions
Hi friends, a colleague of mine has put together a really excellent site full of stories and resources for singers with chronic health issues, particularly EDS, HSD, and POTS. Whether you're a voice teacher or a singer who wants to use or give resources to their teacher, I think it's really, really useful!
