To see if a prompt is still available for claiming, check the “Still Available For…” field on the Airtable ticket for your prompt of interest. If it shows “Fic”, or “Art/Craft”, the prompt is still available for the given creation type.

The first prompt in the image above is still available for any creation! The second has already been claimed for Fic, but is still available to be claimed for Art/Craft.

You can also filter the prompt gallery on desktop to show ONLY prompts that are available for Fic and/or Art/Craft, by clicking "Filter" in the top left-hand corner, then selecting "Add Condition".

Fic submissions can include creative writing in ANY form - short fic (our word limit this year is only 500 words!), screenplay, epistolary or letters, poetry, or anything else that strikes your fancy.

🌦️ HP Drizzle 2025 Rules & Guidelines 🌦️

Welcome to HP Drizzle fest, a weather based, anonymous, 18+  fest for all ships in the Harry Potter fandom!

☔ What do we mean by weather based?

Any work that centres around weather (characters kissing in the rain, soaking up the sun, snowed in – go wild!).

Weather might refer to: sunshine, rain, snow, hail, sleet, mist, blizzards, storms, and similar phenomena. You're also welcome to use extreme weather events as inspiration (e.g: hurricanes, heatwaves, floods, wildfires).

Although not strictly "weather", creative work surrounding other geographical phenomena (eg: eclipses, tides, solar flares, auroras) are also allowed.

☀️ What does anonymous mean?

Created works will be posted on AO3 anonymously, and authors will be revealed after all submissions have been posted.

Please do not post your work anywhere or discuss the details of your work with anyone but your beta/alpha and the Drizzle Mods until after authors are revealed.

Feel free to tell people you are participating in Drizzle Fest! Just no details!! 

🌤️ 18+? What does that mean?

To participate in any part of the fest (prompting, claiming, etc) you must be 18 years old or above as of 05 May 2025.

☔ Prompting

Prompts will be submitted via Airtable form that will be posted when prompting opens. 

All prompts must be centred around weather. 

You may submit up to ten prompts. 

You can attach your name to your prompt or prompt anonymously - but we’re trusting you to stick to ten either way! 

You do not have to create a work for the fest in order to submit a prompt.

Prompts may be as short or as descriptive as you like! Please note that prompts are for inspiration only and creators may not fulfil all aspects of your wishes.

Self-prompting is allowed through the claiming form.

☔ Claiming for Art/Craft and Fic

⚡ Claiming opens via Airtable form on 19 May at 2pm ET (what time is that for me?), and will remain open until 10 August, or once we reach 80 claims for fic. Art/Craft claiming closes on 10 August with no cap.

Each prompt can be claimed once for fic and once for art/craft. 

You may claim for BOTH fic and art/craft at the same time, either as an individual or as a collaboration. If you are doing a collab, please email us at hpdrizzle@gmail.com to inform the mods. 

Prompts will be awarded on a first come first served basis. 

Please choose your top three prompts when claiming, in order of preference (i.e. your top prompt as prompt choice 1, second choice as prompt choice 2, etc). This is in case your first choice has already been claimed. 

You may only claim one prompt at a time. 

Once you finish your prompt, you may claim an additional prompt and create a second work, if claims are still open. Please submit your completed work as per submission guidelines below and then email hpdrizzle@gmail.com and let us know you wish to claim an additional prompt. 

If you claim a prompt and subsequently feel unable to complete the work, please inform us as soon as possible at hpdrizzle@gmail.com. We understand that life can get in the way and there will be no repercussions for dropping out of the fest! 

☔ Claiming for Podfic or Translation

⚡ Claiming opens via Airtable form on 19 May at 2pm ET (what time is that for me?), and will remain open until 10 August.

If you wish to claim for podfic or translation, you must have the author's permission, or a blanket permission stated publicly by the author allowing for podfics or translations. We require written proof for the permission either via a screenshot of the page showing blanket permission or of the conversation as part of your claiming form.

All podfics and translations must be of works within the Harry Potter fandom and be heavily influenced by the theme of weather. Podfics must be recorded specifically for this fest. Translations must be done specifically for this fest.

If you are looking for fics to podfic or translate, you can always start by looking at previous works within the HP Drizzle collections! 

Please be aware that works must also meet the minimum word count of 500 words to be eligible!

Podfics will be posted anonymously, but podficcers are allowed to state their name in the podfic recording.

☔ Creating

For fics, podfics and translations, there is a minimum word count of 500 words and no maximum. 

AI generated works of any format are not permitted in this fest.

All fics and translations must be beta-read (If you are unable to find a beta, please let us know!), and podfics should be beta-listened for accuracy before submitting.

If you are creating a work that would also benefit from a sensitivity reader and need help finding one, please let us know! 

If you are looking for an alpha, beta, or sensitivity reader in a public forum, please keep the information provided to a minimum as this is an anonymous fest.

Creations must be complete works. Please do not submit a draft for a fic that has not been completed (or single chapters of a multi-chaptered work). 

All creations must be individual works, and cannot be part of a series, or a prequel/sequel to an existing work.

All creations must be in English or include an English translation.

Submission of translations as a creation may be in any language, but must be linked back to the original English work via the AO3 “Inspired By” function.

All creations are posted anonymously. However, we allow artists to include signatures/watermarks on their creations if they wish, and podficcers are allowed to state their name in the podfic recording itself. 

☔ Submitting

⚡ Once you have completed your work, it’s time to submit! Submissions are due 17 August, but if you are finished before this date, you are welcome to submit early.

Submission Requirements

You are required to add drizzle_mod as co-creator when uploading your creation. This is primarily so that we can change the posting date, and add in the standard fest end note and the tag for HP Drizzle 2025. We will not make any other changes to your work, and we will remove the mod account after reveals.

Add your fic to the Drizzle collection. All works must be posted directly to the AO3 collection here.

Podfics and translations should be linked to the original work using the AO3 function: “This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work” and pasting the URL of the original fic.

Please state the title, author, rating and any major archive warnings in the audio intro of the podfic. 

Any art or images used for cover art should be copyright-free or have the consent of the artist. Any music or sounds used within the podfic should be copyright-free.

Works must be tagged appropriately and extensively, and include all appropriate warnings. If you have any questions about tagging, please refer to this list of potential triggers, tags and squicks or ask the mods.

We ask that you do not gift the creation to the prompter if you are not taking their squicks into consideration.

Please include your prompt in the creation notes at the beginning of the work to share the inspiration for your work.

Complete your submission header form when you submit your fic. This will be sent directly to participants via email. If, at any point, you decide to change your header after submission, please make sure to send the mods your updated version.

The mods will proof all fics and podfics and inform you if there are any additional requirements. Please check your emails regularly to see if we’ve sent you a message regarding your work.

Please don't change the date on your creation - mods will update the posting date when your creation is revealed!

Please contact the mods via email if you have any issues with/when posting your work.

☔ Extensions

If you need an extension, or have to drop out, please let us know by email ASAP!

We are happy to work with you to set an extended submission date if you need more time - you just need to communicate clearly with us so we can make it happen!

☔ Posting

The mods will post your creation, and creations will be shared via the fest Tumblr. 

We will do our best to provide a posting schedule for creators, but the schedule may be subject to change!

Hermione POV | Rating: T | Post-Hogwarts, Flirting | WC 5K

Hermione considered her silk blouse and cotton skirt. She’d thought them sufficient at the start of the day, but now the knee-length material felt confining. The silk had already proven shite, sticking to her sweaty skin as it did. Fingering the linen covering her thighs and eyeballing Luna’s transfiguration, an idea formed.

“There’s plenty of cover behind the tree.” Luna was already a step ahead of her, waving a pale hand towards the thick beech trunk.

When Hermione returned, it was with her silk blouse in hand and a newly transfigured linen sundress that skimmed halfway up her thighs. Thin spaghetti straps allowed her arms to breathe. She twirled in place the moment she held her friend’s attention.

“Nicely done!” Luna exclaimed, nodding in approval at the sight.

A series of curses burst out above them. Hermione had to block the sun with a hand to look for the source.

“Foul! That’s reckless flying, Charlie!” Percy waggled his finger at the burly Seeker.

“Me? What about Fred? He was just as reckless as I was!”

The accused twin shrugged, not even bothering to argue the point. “Can you really blame me?”

Hermione felt like she was missing something. None of the boys were looking at them, but from the way the rest of the family kept shooting her looks and how Luna erupted into giggles, Hermione was convinced she was somehow involved.

“What is this about, then?” She propped both hands on her hips as she questioned Luna.

The witch only giggled harder, shaking her head and waving a hand at Hermione as if she were the one causing a fuss.

Nonplussed, Hermione sought out Arthur and Molly’s attention, only to find that they, too, wore similar expressions of amusement. Was everyone in on it, whatever it was?

She was just about to storm off, perhaps splash her face with some cold water, when she caught Charlie sneaking a peek in her direction. The instant he noticed her watching, he jerked his head back around so hard that his broom nearly fishtailed and sent him off the end.

Oh.

A theory now in place, Hermione settled back onto the blanket next to Luna. She stretched out as if to nap, letting the hem of her dress ride up to the top of her thighs.

“Want to make them even more obvious?” Luna whispered conspiratorially. Her grin showed she knew exactly what Hermione was doing. At her nod, Luna turned onto her side, head propped on one hand as she leaned over Hermione. Their eyes locked on one another, pale turquoise on gold-flecked umber.

They did nothing but smirk at one another, ears pricked for a reaction. They didn’t have to wait long.

A loud whooshing sound preceded the gust that felt refreshing in the otherwise still air. They turned as one to take in the sight of Charlie in all his glory–rippling muscles covered with tattoos and scars, a sheen of perspiration coating them like oil, and a blinding smile underneath piercing sapphire eyes. “Hey.”

Hermione choked on her response, prompting him to grin even wider.

“Hi, Charlie!” Luna replied, lacking none of her usual poise. “I love your Ridgeback.” She pointed at the figure gracing the upper right part of his chest where the dragon’s wings stretched outward.

“Thanks, love,” he said with a wink.

Hermione made room for him as he moved to settle down next to her. It took two throat clears before she could finally speak. “I like them, too.” She motioned towards his body, then hastily added, “The tattoos.”

“Thank you. I like what you did with the dress.” His eyes ran appreciatively down her figure.

Rather than feel insulted at the blatant way he checked her out, Hermione’s stomach flipped in place. “Th-thanks. I got the idea from Luna.”

The other girl saluted them both, then rolled over onto her side in a clear bid for a nap. They turned their attention back to one another, tension filling the space in between.

Hermione had always found Charlie attractive. There was an air about him that screamed danger, much like the dragons that were his livelihood. He’d always seemed out of reach for anything more than a girlish crush. Surely, there were sexy witches closer to his age, ones who could run circles around Hermione’s awkward attempts at conversation. But, here he was, propped up next to her and the bottomless blues of his regard reeling her in.

“I–”

Whatever he’d been about to say was lost to the shouts.

“Watch out!”

“Duck!”

“Hermione!”

Faster than her eyes could follow, Charlie was in front of her, his broad back obstructing her view of the pitch. It was only when he turned that she saw the unmistakable red leather clutched in his hands. Beside her, Luna murmured and continued to sleep on.

“You’re a git, you know that?” Charlie yelled, before chucking the Quaffle straight at Fred with enough force to knock the wizard’s broom back.

“I’m not the one out on a foul!” Fred threw back. “You alright there, Hermione?”

“Yes!”

“No thanks to you!”

Her and Charlie’s responses overlapped.

“You’re out, Fred. Charlie, you’re back in.” Percy’s no-nonsense orders garnered groans from Fred’s team now that they were the ones a man down.

“Guess that’s my cue,” Charlie said, looking reluctant as he scratched at the back of his neck. He straddled his broom, then hesitated. “Would you–”

“Hermione, love!” Fred’s voice boomed over his brother and emphasised the interruption with a clap to the other man’s back. “Mind if I keep you company?”

She had to fight the laughter threatening to bubble up her throat at the way the two men growled at one another. Hermione wouldn’t have been surprised if they’d bumped chests. “I don’t mind at all.” She padded the invitation to one with encouragement to the other, “Good luck, Charlie.”

“I don’t need luck, darling,” he said with a wink. Fred scoffed, but Hermione couldn’t help but bite her lip at the confidence.
