The real issue isn't adapting the cockpit - some of our most experienced wrenchies can do the job in half an hour - the problem is learning to walk a bipedal mech when you're used to walking on four limbs.

If any of you reading has ever ridden a bycicle, then the feeling of trying to pedal for the first time is a good approximation of trying to adapt to walking on two legs.

I don't think I'll ever forget the sense of vertigo I felt the first time I tried to pilot a Genghis. Standing still already felt like I was precariously perched on a pole, and then they told me to take a step I had to stand on just one leg and let myself fall forward.

Would you please consider for a second a centaur mech pilot. Thank you for having that image in your head for a bit.

I mean the Egregorians are basically centaur-shaped and there are canonically mechs that have been designed or redesigned for them to pilot so it's entirely believable honestly

I think they must have been from Dawnlight, and for obvious reasons court documents from there are not exactly availeable.

Rev here is a pretty good example of how AGNIs can be alright fellows if given the freedom to do things beside killing or being an accessory to killing.

But absolutely do not open that casket: we had one in deep cascade break out of its own and it took five lancers and an orbital bombardment to kill it.

We're doing well, thank you. I think we finally got adjusted to the idea that there is nothing coming to kill us at the moment.

The only down note is we didn't manage to acquire the manna for that schedule 4 printer we wanted to use to build struts for Hivehome: it will collapse into a caldera like Dawnlight in the next couple of months.

As for the tea, sure, I stopped asking questions when BATES managed to trip off of Locus.

what're your opinions on the other companies?

ipsn is fucking awesome, their mechs are reliable, their nhps are quirky as fuck, theyre not ssc, theyre not weird like horus and the quality of their products and services is amazing horus is a bunch of tweakers piloting mechs that tweakers shouldnt pilot, or should, depends on how you look at it, but i do have to say that their entire thing is pretty neat, and yes i know theyre not a company but whatever ssc is fucking boring, luxury mechs (with feet or hooves) for people who probably pay for feet pics (hoof pics too i guess)? checks out @hra-official is just cool, i respect the hustle and ktb is also really cool, i dont hate them, i dont think even management really hates them, i just wish we could like, share the dawnline shore together because if people like good old Ferdinand (the guy who manages @ktbofficial) exist in the ktb then i think theyre pretty awesome, though just like any other government; theyre shady as all fuck, but what government (or company) isnt really

We were experiencing a similar problem because the Forge-2 squads of our Kidds couldn't reach treetops when something got stuck up there, so a group of techies developed a custom update to teach them how to climb onto each other.

They put it up as a free download at omni.acqns://fork-hucteksquad-monkeysoft.lmrk

They should be able to reach the countertops without ladders, although be warned that they will also be able to open doors.

hey so i recently got a roommate SEKHMET and this asshole brought a bunch of Forge-2 Subalterns into our mansion, said they were friends or something, now for context; I'm an AGNI that uses a refurbished Genghis MK.1 as a body, and got employed at Karrakis as an engineer, so they built me a massive appropriately sized mansion because they found it fucking hilarious, but Steve (The SEKHMET, who uses a Blackbeard as a body) constantly complains to me, and even blames me for the fact that the Forge-2s cant reach countertops since they're human-sized and he said he's gonna install ladders and stairs and when i told him to not do that because itll ruin the entire look of the mansion and make it look like an industrial plant he threatened to kill me should i beat him to death in the kitchen when he least expects it with my bare hands or is there a way to painlessly convince this ASSHOLE that he cant just renovate MY mansion for a bunch of little freaks who might actually be illegal smugglers because i swear to god i keep seeing them stuffing something into my fridge but i never find anything out of place

Personally, I'd say there was never really an unsurmountable difference between "inanimate" and "alive" to begin with.

To interact is to share, to a greater or lesser extent. If humans can become part of the Witness, is it so surprising that tools can become part of the wielder?

I think any inanimate thing you regularly care for becomes a little alive.
