What are treats? A treats is a fic or art for you by someone who is not your assigned writer.

How do I sign-up to receive/write treats? In your sign-up, you will be asked if you would like to receive potential treats for this prompt. You can mark yes or no. You do not have to sign up to write treats. You can just look at the spreadsheet and see if any prompts move your muses. Signing up for/to treats is not mandatory to participate in this exchange.

Do treats and additional fics also have to be at least 1,000 words? No. They can be as few or as many words as you want. Only your primary fill has to be at least 1,000 words.

This fest was originally made with the want for more w/w in hockey rpf, but m/m and m/f (and other) are all encouraged!

There are no deadlines, so add and claim as many prompts as you wish. Treat this as an ever-flowing fountain of r63 inspiration, that you can pop by and take a sip of whenever you want.

Hello and welcome to 2023's "Light the Lamp Rarepairs" fic challenge/collection! If you find yourself struggling to find fics for your favorite rarepair, this is your new place to look.

FAQ and Rules loosely taken from the "PuckingRare" challenge/collection. I am not associated with that one, but I thought it would be fun to have a year-round rarepair fest! All hockey levels (college, AHL, NHL, overseas leagues, etc) are welcome.

Collection will be open year-round for posting. Fics don’t have to be written all-year long (unless you want to).

Hello everyone! Here we have the first post for the first year of the Boston Bruins fic exchange! We're a little new to this but we hope to have a lot of fun :)

Firstly -- This is an exchange event. You will be assigned to another creator to create something for, and vice versa. While we ask for prompts in your sign-up, this is not a prompt fest.

1. Fics must be at least 1,000 words in length. There is no “maximum” limit.

2. This is a Bruins exchange. As such, all works should be about and include the Bruins. Current Bruin/current Bruin pairings are allowed. Current Bruin/former Bruin pairings are allowed. Former Bruin/former Bruin pairings are allowed. Current Bruin/non-Bruin pairings are allowed. Former Bruin/non-Bruin pairings are NOT allowed. 3. Please be considerate of the likes and dislikes your recipient provides, as well as any other information they give you to work with. We’ll do our best to match people up with things they’ll be excited about writing, but remember you are writing a gift to cater to someone else’s preferences. We expect all DNW's to be respected.

4. Do not post your fic anywhere else before reveals!

5. When posting, please tag appropriately. If you would prefer not to warn for the default archive warnings, use “Choose Not To Use Archive Warnings” instead of “No Archive Warnings Apply”.

🦈 How this works 🦈 This year we’re keeping the prompt meme open all season long. Prompting opens the day of the Sharks' Home Opener on October 10 and the collection closes on June 30. The collection opens for posting on November 10, but this is not a hard deadline! There are instead two soft deadlines for you to work for: 4 Nations Cup 2025 and the conclusion of the Western Conference Finals 2025. There is a hard deadline of June 30, at which point, the collection will close for posting and prompting.

🦈Prompts & Fills 🦈

Leave at least one but no more than 50 prompts. Pairing prompts must include at least one member of San Jose Sharks, San Jose Barracuda, or Wichita Thunder organizations, past or present. General, non-pairing prompts must involve the team, franchise, or the Bay Area in some way.

All fills welcomed - fic, art, podfic, poetry, fanmixes, creative nonfiction, whatever you can think of! Fic must be a minimum of 100 words and all other works must be equivalent effort. What? Rewrite the Romance! Choose a romance novel and re-write it to feature our favorite hockeys! You can stick as faithfully or as loosely to the original premise as you want. Make it AU or Canon Compliant or Canon Divergent, the world is truly your oyster!

Maybe this is your chance to adapt Pride & Prejudice into the Covid/Bubble Season Flames and Oilers romance epic we all never knew we needed. OR it’s your chance to put Miro and Roope and Esa and Jani in the Regency period searching for the perfect Mr. Darcy. Or maybe you read the back of a bodice ripper in the grocery store and said okay, but what if it was Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier instead?

Give us 5k (minimum) of romance and get paired up with an artist who will create two pieces of traditional art, digital art manipulation, moodboards or a video trailer to go with the story!

Details:

Writer sign-ups: two week period for writers to sign up with their info. 

The questionnaire will ask if you need/want a beta, which MIGHT be available but not guaranteed. 

Beta sign-ups: anyone who wants to join into the event as a sounding board, editor or cheerleader.

Writers are not guaranteed nor required to have a beta, but we will try to pair folx up if interested.

The questionnaire will ask what involvement/style of editing and content you feel comfortable with.

1st Check in: emails will go out with a form for writers to let us know how they are feeling.

Writers can request assistance/support. Excerpts can be shared but are NOT required.

Claim Previews: Due from writers on August 15. This should be a 200(ish) word summary

Pairings and warnings should be listed. Writers can provide a 100 word excerpt as well. 

Blind claims: writers names will NOT be featured on claims.

Artist Sign-Ups: Four day period. Previews will be posted on August 21. Claims begin Aug 22

Artists are committing to create 2 pieces of work for a single fic (or a single video trailer). 

Artists CAN sign up to do more than one collab.

Claims: Artists will submit their claims. Sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis.

2nd Check-In: emails will go out to collab teams asking how folx are doing.

Creators can ask for assistance/support/moderation. Excerpts can be shared but are NOT required.

Posting Dates!: As the season gets under way, we can celebrate with all the amazing work created!
