you feel his lips press against your head. your body twists once you realize he's awoken, hoping he'd sleep the whole day and miss his train to 2

you feel that sting in your eyes and soon his tank top is soaked. you're a mess.

"It's okay, you'll see me again soon" he coos in your ear as he moves down to wrap his arms around you and kiss your tear-soaked face

"this is not the last time you'll see me." he tells you, sternly, honestly. he knows he'll see you again but you feel different. like this goodbye is final

"I love you too much" you whisper. feeling awful at being so upset over his promotion

"I love you. I'll write letters to you, every day." he promises, voice slightly choking he chooses to hide his face in your shoulder

your fingers trace over his buzzed head as the birds sing their final alarm of the morning. he needs to go.

as he stands you decide to sit, staring at the floor as you hear a jingle

suddenly, his tag necklace falls over your head and rests at your chest, he kisses your head before turning to change into his 12 uniform for the very last time.

summary: you're swimming in a lake with your lover as the thoughts of him leaving plague your mind

the sun raised high warms the lake as the murky water splashes up your neck, your arms push yourself afloat as you lay on your back

suddenly you squeal as water explodes around you, coriolanus rises from the water as the aftermath of his jumping ripples on you

you swim over, soft chuckles coming from the both of you, wrapping your arms around him you stare into his reflective blue eyes and can't help but remember the reason you both are out here

he watches the change on your face, excitement turning into a solemn one

"I'll come back" he answers though you haven't asked. the pain of him going to 2 still fresh

"how?" now you're left with silence, his face is stern and you can't help but feel like you've ruined possibly the last nice moment you'll have with him

your grip on him loosens as you try and let the water move you away so you wouldn't have to feel his loss

he grabs onto your arm, pulling you back and hugging you. his warmth encapsulating you as you stare at the evergreens and mighty mountains and feel a surge to run up them with your lover, escape panem and the capitol, and live the rest of your days out, together.

your voice cracks, threatening to spill all that you have just thought but as if he reads your mind he answers

"I still have family at the capitol." It's stern and it ruins all your plans, all your fantasies and you feel like a fool who will never love again if he leaves

you want to come up with some elaborate plan that will end with you both together, but as the water slowly splashes on you, you decide to leave things as it is, so you can have this moment with him.

summary: you're hunting with katniss, when she decides it's your turn with the bow.

the string of her arrow pulls back as the birds sing around her, she lines her weapon up with her prey and releases the string

the birds stall for a moment as the linx lays dead but then carry on with their chatter.

you can't help but grin at the sight of it, it's fat and the fur isn't matted. she kneels, the satisfying pull of the arrow is replaced with the even more satisfying thump of the game bag being filled. you both will have soup for days with the money this will bring

you grin at her, already dreaming of Sae's meaty stew but she informs you you're not done yet.

your face must have said it all because she laughs at you before walking towards the creek

"you're shooting today" you immediately feel nervous, not having as steady a shot as her, and the need to make her feel proud, that her lessons out here haven't been for nothing

"prepare to feel underwhelmed" you joke, but planting a seed that your hopes aren't high. before she protests you walk ahead to find the game you would, in the end, make suffer from a flimsy shot.

your silent steps bring you to an opening where a clueless rabbit hopped into perfect view. you feel a tap on your shoulder, you turn and take her bow, and the same bloody arrow used for the linx

lining up with the prey, you feel your eyes trying to twitch shut as the arrow flies, but they widen once it hits close to the neck

you eagerly run to the rabbit as you see it got its nape, not killing it.

you feel remorse flood you for wounding the animal, but you quickly grab the same arrow and stab it in the eye, putting it out of its misery

you swallow your guilt away and scoop the doe as katniss stands with the game bag opened, you place it in with the linx.

"you'll hit the head next time, I feel it" she encourages, you give a slanted smile and shake your head,

A/N In my "I can fix him" era.

This is going to be a little short but I'm already working on something a little longer.

PAIRING Coriolanus Snow x Fem!Reader

TW/TAGS Fluff, sort of love confessions, slight ooc!coryo.

SUMMARY Coryo asks you to stay the night with him, and in the process, he confesses how he feels about you.

Who would have thought that the one who would be President Snow in the future would be the same man who would give his life for the woman he loved the most at only eighteen years old.

You were both lying on his bed, he was looking at your face, your eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, your entire face examining it, memorizing it in his mind.

Your gaze focused on his soft platinum blonde hair, twisting each of his curls around your finger carefully and then letting it go in the same way, making him feel totally relaxed.

"I like your hair." You confessed, slowly scratching his scalp, making him close his eyes like a puppy being caressed behind the ears.

"I like your company." He confessed back, making you smile.

"Well, I like you." After the genuine confession that had left your lips without thinking, he remained silent and you understood why he did so.

You both stayed like that for a few more minutes, simply enjoying each other's company.

You looked over his shoulder at the window where the amber sunset sky was beginning to give way to night.

"I should go..." you announced starting to get up from his bed and you felt his skin against yours. He had taken your wrist in his hand to prevent you from moving another inch.

"I... uh you," he began shyly but at the same time awkward, he didn't know how to formulate his proposal. You looked at him with hope in your eyes, you could count on your fingers the times he had been vulnerable in front of you. "Can you sleep with me for the night?"

"Of course, Coryo." You accepted with a big smile and after you said that, he lay down again.

"So come here." He pulled your wrist towards him, making you fall onto his chest.

After a few minutes in silence you thought he had already fallen asleep.

“y/n?”

"Yeah?" you responded back, feeling his chest rise and fall gently with each breath he took, and his hand slowly moved up to your back, beginning to give small caresses.

"I like you too."

"after everything i did for you—" his booming, hoarse voice echoes through the desolate forest. "this is how you repay me?!"

your heartbeat drums in your ears, chest tightened as if he was stepping right on you, as you hide behind boulders. each crunch of twigs under his large boots crept closer to you. like a measly little mouse, you crept and crawled faster, the mud and dirt staining the rose smelling shawl on your shoulders.

"i.. i just wanna talk.." coriolanus' tone switches at the drop of a hat. his mind dancing on the thin line between desperation and rage. was there a difference?

"i'm not gonna hurt you," he lies.

the jabber jays mock him, faintly singing his words through the forest, and only making you feel more suffocated. your tired feet, and burning thighs ached as you knelt down in the creek. cold water from the river sloshing at the bank, freezing your skin as it hits you.

"where are you?" coriolanus' voice is a meer whisper, "where.. are.. you..?" his faint breathing, and paranoid mumbling gradually faded under the sounds of the river and birds chirping.

you peak your head above the creek, seeing no sign of the gun-wielding lover. no sight of his platinum blonde hair within the stalks of dark, brown trees. naively, your nails dig into the dirt and you hoist yourself out the damp creak. a relieved sigh leaves your lips, eyes fluttering closed.

"found you."

you freeze. the color drains from your face, once you open your eyes to the familiar sight of dirty army boots. your frame trembled as you craned your neck up to him. coriolanus towered over you, his face dimmed by the sun shining down on him, creating a twisted silhouette glow around him. a devil in disguise.

suddenly, his hands tried to grab at you, but you duck under his reach. your feet kick against the dirt, lunging yourself to the side as you run. your fruitless attempt at escape was cut short: your head meeting the ground as you collapsed.

a pair of hands grip at your biceps, roughly turning you over like you weighed nothing. a sluggish groan escapes your lips, and you flutter your eyes, barely making out the shape of his face.

"corio.. corio please.." you beg softly, lower lip quivering as tears clouded your sight. "it's me.. please.. you can trust me—"

"no loose ends, you know.." coriolanus interrupts, his brows knitted together. his hateful baby blues shoot daggers at you, his nails digging into your skin as he shakes your body.

"corio!" you whimper, chest heaving from exhaustion and utter terror. "i won't tell anyone.. i swear! please.. i wasn't going to say anything.."

coriolanus shakes you violently once again, offended at your words. he leans his face down to you, hot breath hitting your cheeks. fat dollops of tears roll down your cheeks, and even pinned down ruthlessly, you look softly at coriolanus.

"we promised we'd always take care of each other.." his comforting words spoken in such a cold tone did nothing to ease your mind. his nose flares, brows furrowing harder, and his nails almost drawing blood. "did you mean it?"

a beat.

you hiccup quietly, lip trembling as the words die in your throat. coriolanus' patience was drawing thin— but the utter fear in your bones ate away at you. all you can offer is a shaky nod, weak sobs mewling from you.

your simple gesture was enough to loosen coriolanus's grip on you, letting your fall back against the dirt. he chews his lower lip in concentration, his intent gaze never leaving you and you can see the cogs whirring in his mind.

his large hand gently strokes your sweating face. a flash of guilt shimmers in his eyes when you wince at his touch. coriolanus hovers over your frame, his knee now on either side of you, trapping you under him.

"you know i'd never hurt you.." he says quietly, his head lowering to yours. his pink lips barely brush against yours. his calloused fingers lightly wipe the tears and dirt staining your cheeks. "i promise."

his weak promises taste bitter on your tongue when coriolanus presses his lips to yours, his tongue swiping along your lower lip. your soft gasps are muffled as he swallows your sounds, his hands now on either side of your face.

his once warm, and gentle kiss .. now just felt cold, and suffocating.

the weeds tickle your ankles as you giggle through the hills, the sun warming your blood as your dress flows with your running

"can you hurry up?" you yelp as he rolls his eyes, head freshly buzzed and tank top just washed, he speeds up.

you smile when he's finally in reach, grabbing his shoulders before staring in his blue eyes

"well, is this the spot?" he asks, breaking you from your trance as you quickly nod. he swings the basket on the grass and lets the wind unfold the blanket before placing it at your feet

as you relax under the sun he passes you bread and berries. your teeth sink into the blackberry as he snaps a piece of hearty bread.

you move to lay on your stomach when you notice a lonely ladybug crawling on your blanket, letting her crawl on your fingertips as you feel a light tickle on the loose strands of your hair.

in a few minutes, you look back to see your hair decorated with wildflowers and grin to see Coryo trying to look oblivious. As you let the ladybug crawl off your finger you move towards him.

his lips are plump and redden from the strawberries and you lean to kiss them. he smiles into the kiss, moving on top of you so you lay relaxed into his love. when your sweet kiss is finished he hovers over you with an arm resting above you, studying your face like it's the first time he's seen it.

you blush under his gaze and try to look back into the meadow but his hand guides you back to him before laying another kiss on you.
