criminal minds sexuality and gender identities <3

if you don’t agree or say something about canon, kindly shush. These are my headcanons so what I think, not what the show portrayed.

Jason Gideon : okay so I know we see him written like a straight man, but in my heart Jason is gay. He just doesn’t let it define him, him and Rossi deffo had a thing at the start of the BAU and it took him awhile to come to accept himself as fully gay. Could also see him as a trans man, but not as much as I see him as a gay man.

David Rossi : omnisexual. I will take no criticism on this, he doesn’t care how you identify if he is attracted to you. He is attracted to you. As stated above, him and Gideon also definitely did it.

Aaron Hotchner : Hotch loved Hayley, I hate their relationship later on in the show. But you cannot say he didn’t love her. However, he had so much tension with Blackwolf in the S1 episode ‘The Tribe’. So, I don’t see him as fully straight. Until I find a label that better suits him either Unlabelled or Queer.

Derek Morgan : unlabelled or bisexual but due to Buford he is more reluctant to engage in a mlm relationship, I think he has accepted his sexuality but will probably be more reluctant to start a physical relationship with a man unless he fully trusts that man.

Emily Prentiss : lesbian.

Elle Greenaway : lesbian or bisexual, but with a female preference.

Jennifer Jareau : hear me out on this one, in the bar scene where she is having a drink with Will and she was building up to telling him something, I was so ready for her to come out as lesbian. There were small hints, and honestly I could see her as a lesbian. However, that didn’t happen and instead we had Will and JJ and I admit they have grown on me so. Before the relationship between Will and JJ was developed or even hinted, lesbian however I can see her as a bisexual woman.

Spencer Reid : bisexual possibly trans man, if not trans, agender or non binary at the least. Could also see him as a purely gay trans man, and would love that but he does work well with a woman as well. So if it is the bisexual, more with a preference for men. His tension with Ethan is undeniable.

Penelope Garcia : pansexual trans woman. Penny is my little queer baby, I can imagine her realising young that she was trans and her family being like super supportive.

Luke Alvez : gay. Luke is a gay man, that doesn’t understand what’s so important about who you are attracted too. He was a bit scared to come out, as I imagine him in a religious home but his family were supportive. His abuela, was just like “I know.” But I imagine him realising high school, but not coming out too his full family until about 18 years old.

Dr Alex Blake : bisexual.

Dr Tara Lewis : lesbian. No explanation needed.

Kate Callahan : unlabelled. If she likes you, or is attracted to you she just is. She’s never fully looked into all the different labels so, she just says she is attracted to who she is attracted to.

Ashley Seaver : lesbian, however she also labels herself as demisexual (she needs to have a bond before she can find you sexually attractive and want to sleep with you).

Jordan Todd : lesbian. Always thought she had tension with Emily, but she definitely isn’t straight.

David Rossi - May 9, 1950-56

> wiki says 56, but due to his military background and how long it takes to make the rank he made it is more likely he either enlisted at a very young age (11) or he is older than the wiki says.

Jason Gideon - February 14, 1952-58

>never given an explicit answer, but I’d put him a year or two younger than Rossi. So depending on your choice of his birth year, it changes Gideon’s. Actual date dunno, but feel like he’s an Aquarius.

Alex Blake - July 21, 1963

>purely speculation on my part. She is the only other member of the team to be enlisted in their early 20’s (24), but she seems to be a veteran of the FBI. She also dealt with the first anthrax case, so putting her a little older. Year, is purely based on Jeanne Tripplehorn’s real life birth year.

Aaron ‘Hotch’ Hotchner - November 2, 1965

>his birth year is all over the place, but in my not so professional opinion 1965 makes the most sense if you base it on his schooling and the fact he did law before the FBI.

Derek Morgan - June 6, 1970

>difficult to place his year to be honest. Wiki says 1973. But, in the show he is given so many different careers, beat cop for Chicago P.D., the New York FBI offices all before going to Quantico. So he’d have to be a little older.

Emily Prentiss - October 12, 1970

>a little harder to place, following wiki would make her older than Hotch if I followed Hotch’s wiki year of 1971. But she says in her first episode which is set in 2006 that she has been with the Bureau for ten years. Making her first year 1996, which makes her age at joining the Bureau about 26 if you use 1970 as her birth year.

Dr Tara Lewis - September 18, 1970

>honestly nothing on her birthday so literally just using Aisha Tyler’s real life birthday because it does make sense for Tara’s character.

Kate Callahan - October 3, 1975

>not given a birthday for Kate at all but being a FBI veteran for 8 years before she joined the Bureau is making me think she is slightly older but still not like Hotch age. So 1975 is a good middle ground.

Luke Alvez - December 6, 1975

>purely my opinion again. He is a Sagittarius in my head so December as his month makes sense too me, the year once again is due to the actors real life birth year. But 1975 for Luke makes sense to me.

Elle Greenaway - June 24, 1977

>purely using the wiki age, because it does make sense for Elle to be a little older than Reid but still not as old as Morgan and Hotch.

Penelope Garcia - March 28, 1978

>wiki says sometime in 1977, but with her being one of the younger members of the team I feel like 1978 works better. No exact day or month is said, but Penelope feels like a Pisces so have my fan given birthday for her.

Jennifer Jareau- May 7, 1980

>once again fan speculating for JJ, she seems like a Taurus to me so putting her born early May but her birth year is once again a guess. Her sister is most likely 1974, and JJ is 6 years younger and her, Penelope and Spencer are said to be the youngest on the team. Hence me putting her birth year 1980.

Spencer Reid - September 21, 1981

>we know his birthday is actually a couple days before Halloween but Spencer is such a Virgo so, my head makes him born in September.
