Master of Breakthrough

The Philistines Defeated Now when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Career Missions

The great hardship of career missions is this: though we may spend our lives studying and embracing the cultures to which we are called we will not find someone within that culture who will do the same in return. In this, missions is a one-way service. Not that it is without reward, but the great cost of missions is leaving the world and culture that knew us to commit to love a people who, though they might accept us, will never sympathetically understand us.
