How I've Written Endings
When things end on a good note, can we say that it it really ended for good?
In my case, it only felt like a very long time of drifting apart and then yearning to come along together in any of the days that are yet to come. The what if's were on repeat inside my head. It was like closing a book knowing that the sequel is just around the corner - I know I can never miss the excitement of running through the pages of the next book. It was a very risky thing - filling up the space left with hope. I thought it will be fine soon. That's what hope is for anyway.
Then there's the other - the end with a not-really-good-note.
I know, there and then, that there's no turning back nor next times. I know, there and then, that this isn't drifting apart rather an absolute separation. I know, there and then, that this is no sequel to look forward to. I know, there and then, that the scars had been way too deep for another chance with the exact same person who left it there. Hope is non-existent. I know and I can tell that this is a total cut off from that relationship longer than a lifetime.
That's right. I wish not to see the other person anymore. Bitter? Not exactly. But, since I've known how messed up things could be, not crossing paths is a favor we can do for each other, even just as human beings.

“I want deeper connections with the people around me. I need to reach out more. Because not everyone leaves. Sometimes if you reach out, the person you’re trying to reach will be right there waiting.”

To see is to believe, but for years in teaching I have learned how to believe in order to see. In doing so, the kids start to think of infinite possibilities of what could be's and eventually act upon it. It's a gradual process. For some, it's painstakingly slow, but it's always worth the wait. Always.

Play Along
And we go along with today's activities as if there was no downpour yesterday. Every step was a little heavy, but not everyone has to know about it. Your eyes are a bit swollen, and you tell them 'I just got too excited for today so I slept at 2 AM thinking of what we should do', and of course, knowing nothing else but this, they play along.

“It’s really a wonder that I haven’t dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.”
