Verse 1.0

He was a foreigner to Fiore, escaping home with his mother to avoid guild wars that threatened their safety. Raised by a single mother, Hibiki grew to be a grateful man. A man that wanted more than anything to convince his mother that she had done right by him, that her son would grow up to be happy and successful because of the sacrifices she so bravely made for him.

Following the death of his one love Hibiki is ruined. He believes and might possibly never love again. But that is not to keep him from making the world believe that he is fine, that he is finely put together and thriving. The world need not know how he’s falling apart inside.

His mother taught him that much -- stand and smile, even when you don’t want to... especially when you don’t want to.

Today he is one of Fiore’s most eligible bachelors. A candidate to be considered, even, for the princess herself.

Status: Single Guild: Blue Pegasus

This is his main verse. Karen is dead and he’s not holding on too well. Not even years after the fact. Love is not something this man pursues, though he does entertain the masses.

Verse 2.0

Similar to his first verse, Hibiki is a man that puts on a face for the crowd. He’s a great actor -- a pretender of well being. The perfect exterior betraying the withering core inside.

He has lived with his grief and sorrow. He is moving forth, as best he can, with his own haunting memories.

That is, until one such memory comes back from the dead.

Karen did not die as he had believed.

Nearly a decade later she is back, and this mad has no idea how to still his beating heart. Though whether it beats with elation and relief... or apprehension he is not sure.

Secondary main verse to be tied to Ari’s Karen muse. Any development made with them (that’s not flashback) will be placed in this verse.

Karen Lilica;

Hibiki without a doubt loved Karen. 

He was kind and he was patient. He saw in her something -- a something most others neither witnessed nor suspected -- that was worth loving. Enough that he turned a blind eye to every man that glanced her way. Various times she’d cheated. To prove some point, he was certain, having retreated behind that persona that thought the world owed her everything. When she got close to caring she’d get mean. The more she cared the meaner she got.

That’s why he knew it mattered.

Even after the developments with Leo. Something he was certain was against some heavenly rules.

And he stayed. Even after she cheated on him with his best friend (something that both parties believe he’s unaware of). They thought it was a secret, that they were clever and had “gotten away with it.”

But they were neither the first nor would they be the last to underestimate how insightful Hibiki is, how much he truly pays attention. The wheels turn behind beautiful eyes, his pain continuously masked by a kind smile.

Still, he’d loved her.

Any attempt that was used to prove that he was a spineless fool, that only a weakling could forgive such things, were but empty assumptions. She never did understand where his tolerance came from -- what his trick, as surely it must be, was. 

If he’d had a chance to explain he’d do so simply: loving her has nothing to do with him, with any pain or expectations he had on the matter. Loving her truly should not be a reflection of all the things that he wished were true. Loving her meant loving...her. It meant loving her flaws and shortcomings as much as her looks a her mind. He loved her, not neat compartments.

He loved Karen.

And losing her nearly destroyed him.

But still he smiled.. because if he didn’t, if he allowed himself to falter, he might find that he didn’t have the chance to get up off his knees.

Selfless;

Hibiki’s predominant quality is his ability to be absolutely selfless. 

As I play my Yukino I do highlight her potential for selflessness, but that’s what it is: a potential. Yukino is selfless to those she truly cares for and cherishes, but Hibiki? He takes it to a whole new level.

His ability to lay down his heart and just shamelessly care is his strongest feature.

This boy is golden.

This is a man that when faced with Nirvana, with all the dark thoughts that rose in his mind, about karen and how she died, still did not given in. He faced the darkness and still pushed out with light. The boy is radiant. 

( Of course he was not unaffected by the whole thing, but still he fought it )

ORIGIN;

Hibiki is from Earthland’s Iceberg (in modern terms he’d be from France) although he lives his early teens in Minstrel, and later flees this land with his mother when the wars threaten their safety. That’s when he first arrives in Fiore.

Hibiki has a strong accent that is still present despite extensive knowledge of Fiorean. Hibiki’s archive helped him with this transition. Aside from these two Hibiki is well versed in a number of different languages.

TRIMENS;

After the events of the Dragon Festival and the death of his dear friend, the title of Trimens is something that really hurts him. Their trio has been reduced to two.

Eve was the buffer between Ren and Hibiki, he was the one that kept the peace. Losing him causes the differences between the two men to be stronger, harder to ignore. Losing Eve makes Ren detach even more.

CANON DIVERGENCE;

Ichiya: After HEAVY consideration, I’ve decided that this character does NOT exist in my Hibiki’s canon, at all. I am of the opinion that a character that does not add to the plot or to character development in any way then he is wasted potential. This character is nothing but the occasional humor and is of no significance to major plot points. Not to mention that I do not see how anyone, what with the personality he has, can actually grow to respect and admire him. This is my personal opinion and I hope that it is respected as such. 

Eve Tearm: Sacrifice and deaths can take a great toll on a character and can be a heavy weight that must be overcome. Eve is one such death that Hibiki has to deal with. Eve dies during the events of the Dragon Festival. After such an intense event I don’t believe that everyone emerged unscathed. The casualties that were mentioned were mostly those we have no knowledge fo (random people around the land) and I think it’s b.s. that there were not more mage casualties. SO Eve is one such mage that passed away during this time.
