33. Queer. I think I'm mostly just spitballing fanfic ideas for TSC/AFTG that I may or may not end up writing~

I'm reading The Dreamer Trilogy, and I have many thoughts, but the most pressing one right now is that I can't handle Matthew Lynch being sad and that precious baby better be happy again by the end.
....
...
..
.
And there isn't nearly enough Adam Parrish and Ronan Lynch teaming up as the magical duo (now boyfriends) that they are. Hopefully that changes...
I do like the eldest Lynch bro getting more scenes.
Never recovering from the fact that the original gang from TRC isn't together, though. They were absolutely perfect.

I was hoping and am still hopeful that Jean's story would feature more of Renee.
It's a testament to how great Jeremy Knox is that I'm equally happy for him to be Jean's love interest when Renee is the other most likely option. Because, my god, Renee is a great character (that doesn't have nearly enough scenes for my personal liking).

I wonder if coach Rhemann sees Jean as like a pebble from Wymack.
Wymack usually keeps the traumatized athletes.
So, in my mind, Rhemann has always supported what Wymack was doing with the Foxes, seeing it as a good thing even as others assumed it was only a publicity stunt. Then Wymack sends Jean... and I just imagine Rhemann interpreting it as Wymack sending a "thank you" for the support.
Here's a little traumatized 'pebble', the best Exy backliner you'll ever find. You may need to put him back together a few times. xx - Wymack

The fact that Jean can't censor himself for shit actually feels meaningful.
Jean's voice was taken from him by his parents, then by coach Moriyama and Riko, and even by the rest of the Ravens. Now Jean is somewhere safe, and he can't keep it in.
It's like buds on a plant that was thought to have died in a harsh winter, but it's bursting to life at the first signs of spring.

Headcanon/hopes that once Jean and Jeremy are in a relationship, Jean becomes addicted to Jeremy's acts of affection and seeks them constantly.
The Foxes see Jean again after he's been in California for a while, and it's at a game with tons of people present and Jean is trying to ignore those around him as he stands with his head resting on Jeremy's shoulder. Jeremy has his arms wrapped around Jean, and he mutters comforting words about the crowd and game and anything else that has Jean remotely anxious.
*And Kevin feels overwhelmingly happy at the sight. He finally, fully, understands why his dad goes to so much trouble to help young people whom others see as too much trouble.
------
I just really like the idea of Jean being comfortable enough and trusting Jeremy enough that he's willing to let himself be vulnerable with Jeremy, knowing that Jeremy will take care of him.
Jean deserves to have someone to lean on that will give him unconditional support and love no matter how heavy the things he's dealing with are.

The Trojans sitting around, sharing things about themselves as a team bonding exercise. Jean is thoroughly over it, so he tells them that he was sold as a kid, thinking they'll assume he's just trying to make them uncomfortable.
However, many of the Trojans are too familiar with Jean's life at this point and know that they've just been told a horrible truth.
Coach Rhemann is over to the side, researching if stress can cause an aneurysm.
One of the other coaches pulls Jean's files to see if his definitely forged paperwork even looks legit.
Jean's more knowledgeable teammates do their best to pretend that they believe he was just being moody and not sharing real information about his life.

My anxiety feels like a Jenga tower, with very low anxiety issues making up the blocks on top, and as you go down the tower, the anxiety associated with the blocks increases.
Highest anxiety issues are the blocks on the bottom, so that it feels like addressing them - pulling high anxiety issues from the tower - greatly increases the risk of the whole tower falling down, bringing all of my anxieties out at once and ending the game, with me losing.
The tower feels ever-growing and always precarious.

"How did Aaron pull a cheerleader?"
My headcanon is that they met at a D&D group, and they've played campaigns together ever since then, and they're both big ol nerds.
Additional HC that Katelyn is a vet med student. That's how she and Andrew definitively bury the hatchet: the twins and their significant others somehow end up on a double date and Andrew sees a kitten that's limping on the side of the road, he immediately pulls over to get it, Neil and Aaron don't know how to help, but Katelyn gets out to help and she patches the kitten up for Andrew.
It's Andrew and Neil's first cat.

* Disclaimer: I'm aware that there is extra content somewhere, but I haven't read it.
** I suppose I should disclaim that I'm also a nerd, so I'm not hating.

I think I struggle to write because sticking to one coherent topic of thought while doing literally anything else is very difficult for me.

Jean and Jeremy sitting next to each other on the Trojans' bus, going to an away game, and Jeremy's phone goes off, but it isn't a sound Jean has heard before so it piques Jean's interest enough for him to peek at Jeremy's phone.
Jeremy proceeds to open the language app and take his weekly French quiz while Jean watches right next to him. Jeremy finishes the quiz with a perfect score and looks over at Jean with the brightest smile he's worn yet, waggling the phone at Jean and saying he knows more than "Oui" now.
Jean grumbles and turns to look out the window, but his cheeks are a bit red. Jeremy is very pleased with himself.
Jeremy between classes and practice every day, doing his damnedest to learn French from an app.

I'm sorry that he hurt you, I'm sorry that you're still afraid to talk about it, and I'm sorry that you think I'll never understand. I'm sorry that he tricked you into thinking you deserved it. But I'm not sorry he's gone.

Imagine Jean mildly hurts his ankle while practicing, nothing that stops him from playing, and nothing that he would have ever dreamed of drawing attention to around the Ravens because it would only result in his former teammates trying to further injure him, but Jeremy notices because Jeremy constantly seems to be paying equal attention to the Court and to Jean.
Jeremy asks Jean about it during practice, and Jean denies anything is wrong so Jeremy can only accept Jean's word, but once practice draws to an end, Jean is feeling it more and trying to linger behind so his teammates don't see him favoring one leg over the other.
It's all for naught, as Jeremy walks over and kneels down in front of Jean, insisting "piggyback ride" a term that Jean almost certainly doesn't know because can you imagine any of the Ravens saying it? Jean realizes Jeremy's intentions anyway and tries to shoo the other man away, but more of the Trojans notice there's a problem and start coming over. Jean reluctantly agrees before an audience can form, and Jeremy happily, and with surprising ease, carries Jean to the nurse's office.

Jean never becoming comfortable enough to voice his thoughts/feelings to authority figures, but he views Jeremy as a safe authority, so he whispers whatever he wants to Jeremy so the other man can convey his needs for him.
-----
I said, "Authority figure," but I was imagining Jean and Jeremy at a restaurant, and Jean leaning over to whisper his order in Jeremy's ear so that Jeremy can place it for him. Jean never even got to make decisions about what he ate before, so when he finally begins eating things for enjoyment, there's still some anxiety, especially in public.

Thinking about Jeremy Knox having chronic depression and sliding into a particularly bad slump. Thinking about the way Jean's stomach would turn uncomfortably upon seeing his captain so not himself, so quiet, the light he brought to the sunshine court, dimmed. Thinking about in the quiet moments where Jean would lay awake across the room from Jeremy while he was still asleep just to watch him breathe slowly, feeling guilty for missing the Jeremy he'd met when he'd first come to California but not knowing how to help Jeremy when Cat and Laila had told him all he could do was be there. But simply being present didn't feel like enough, seeing Jeremy's constant exhaustion and the ring of pink around his eyes that seemed substantially puffier. Jean hated standing by while Jeremy suffered. He couldn't stop thinking about the darkness of their shared room, and the way Jeremy lingered there whenever he could, no matter how dark it got. Thinking about the fact that Jean hates shopping but he asks Cat and Laila anyway, who take him to the touristy part of town and he finds a little stained glass panel depicting a delicate sun. Thinking about Jean, not one to spend his money frivolously buying the sun catcher with Jeremy in mind and securing it to the window on the wall beside Jeremy's bed. Thinking about Jeremy even in an ever deepening pit of despair, and self loathing, waking up to the gentle morning light of his shared room with Jean the entire room cast in sun rays and little rainbows emanating from the stained glass pain on his window that Jeremy certainly did not buy. thinking about the way Jeremy's heart ached knowing that Jean had thought of him.Thinking about Jeremy, who had brought light and love into Jean's life when he hadn't yet known true freedom. And I'm thinking about Jean wanting Jeremy to always know he is loved and valued by those around him, thinking about Jean wanting Jeremy to always remember the light he brings into the lives of others.

Jean is finally worn down by Cat and Laila and Jeremy to try bubble tea with them. They get him the plainest flavor, only an inkling of sweet sugar to ease him into it.
After 5 minutes the group considers this a win. Jean hasn't been chatting with the rest of them, but he's been focussed on his drink, not complaining about it or the calories or how this single sweet treat will cost them championships.
Then, Jean leans close to his napkin over the table where they sit outside and spits about ten pearls out like a cat. They look on with horror - Jean had just been storing them in his mouth the whole time.
He grimaces, "I do not like the little balls," then goes back to his drink.
