Thinking about how kind everyone was on my birthday after I got some really backhanded messages 🥹 I got so many wonderful gifts that I cherish still, even despite the people who messaged me explicitly telling me they wouldn't dare gift me for whatever reason. I absolutely love receiving art of my designs and I love getting kind words. It made me feel so happy that day and the days following for those who gifted later on. I was just thinking about it while scrolling through my gallery ahh

It's reallyodd how (redacted username so they don't get hate) fixed the unintentionally harmful aspect of their art when I started bringing up how they've dodged the subject when it's been brought up before, but then also blocked me? Like they listened when I said something, and it kinda sucks that it took a few people saying it for them to care, but like, they inevitably fixed the issue pretty well and very fast which is AMAZING. But then also blocked me for some reason 😭 I'm not against people blocking me because that would be weird but I feel like it's a different vibe when somebody who interacted/engaged with my content a bunch before decides to randomly block me for presumably no reason. Like surely I wasn't blocked for the reasonable criticism I brought to them, that others had brought to them in the past, that they clearly ACKNOWLEDGED and implemented into their art. Maybe if they threw a fit about it and was like "OMG your criticism SUCKS!!!!" and then blocked me but they seemed pretty lax about it after I discussed my point in DMs with them and why it was different than other types of body type changes. I have no reason to beg them to unblock me because ultimately it's their choice and for all I know they could've just figured that my account is too triggering and would've rather blocked me than put all the keywords into a blocked words list or whatever. But every time I get a notification from thetreehousechronicles (go follow them btw great stuff), see they reblogged a post from the person who has me blocked, and then try to check their profile only to get an error message, I get whiplash. Like what? Huh? Whuh? Hello? When did that happen!!!
Anyways it's not really that important but I take any opportunity I'm given to yap . If you happen to know who it is by the description do not go ham on them or try to hate on them because they fixed the issue a while ago and I'm sure they understand by now why it's so important to keep fat characters fat because I've explained it to them personally. They're completely chill as far as I'm concerned

Kittypawslol1 seems to be trying to come back, hoping everyone forgot about the crap she pulled. Let me just remind you guys that this is the person who forced another person into a romantic relationship via guilt tripping, pretended to be taking their life DURING my actual attempt on my life to try and "steal attention", memed the fuck out of my trauma and then told me to kill myself when I told them that wasn't okay, has made at LEAST 4 fake accounts where they pretend to be entirely different people, from different ages to different races and ethnicities, and is suspected to be the person who created a romancable c.ai bot of me. Please, for the love of god, STAY AWAY FROM HER. She will do nothing but guilt trip you and try to make you feel bad for her regarding events that never actually happened. She does nothing but try to take attention away from people who are genuinely struggling. I've already made a post on this before so if you need the proof go find that, the images are deep in my camera roll.

Hoagie loves physical affection if you're one of 4 people he cares about and if you are not either of those four and you try to hug him or shake his hand he will get so uncomfortable that he emits a low, consistent groan (think Tina Belcher) as a "defense mechanism" until the person stops and then he'll refuse to talk to them for the rest of the day. Anybody who opens up the room for physical bonding with Hoagie but does not force it will usually be stared at with a lot of confusion mixed with discomfort, like he knows what you're trying to suggest but the way he looks at you indicates he's clueless

One (1) person in this fandom truly cares about me and every time I remember how forgettable I am it kind of hurts. I make my content for my own enjoyment I guess but I just sometimes wish maybe someone else out there cared for it or wanted more or was invested in the stories like I see everyone else get for their stuff

I just realized I posted this on main that's embarrassing. I was trying to post on my sideblog 😭 not a big fan of this platform's format 👎
Finding out so many people in this fandom have me blocked when I go try to check out their stuff from a reblog... Yeah. Not the greatest feeling, especially because I was on here looking for art of my comfort character because I'm having a BPD episode. It just stuns me I guess, really all I do is call out shitty people, call out subtle acts of bigotry/weirdness from the fandom, and goof off. Everyone hates me for it. Fun!

Teen Wally having a BPD episode and Hoagie being there to hold him and keep him safe and close. Telling him that the fear and hurt will be over soon and he won't let go until it is. Wiping all his tears and taking him out for dinner when it's all over.
Yeah I'm having a BPD episode rn so I figured I'd self insert onto Wally with 2/4 fluff because 2/4 is such a huge comfort. Sucks there's like next to no content of them

I know I yap a lot but I hope you guys know that I'm not gonna snap at you if you're a reasonable person who is willing to admit wrong when necessary. I'm friends with a lot of the consistent artists in this fandom and I'm sure they'd tell you that I only bite when necessary lmfao. As long as you're chill and don't start hurling insults at me when I point out a mistake or try to have a civil conversation I promise you the only thing I'll be doing is rambling about headcanons, my character lore, or some random ass science facts (or listening to you speak)

Okay now for something more positive towards the fandom. I'm really glad people are starting to acknowledge that KND was not some sort of brilliant and perfect show. It's important for people who enjoy a piece of media, especially older media, to acknowledge when it did things badly. A lot of people get it stuck in their heads thinking that if they like something, it's perfect in every way, and that can lead to people defending some... Peculiar stuff. It's nice to see people acknowledge the bad stuff of the show in this fandom after the amount of times I've had to call out some of the problems of the fandom. One less problem in the fandom - plus it's one that's a huge issue in other fandoms. Glad it's not here 🫡

I saw somebody call Cree "wifey" today and just to clarify I'm pretty sure that person is a young teen so I'm not concerned about the age but what I AM concerned about is that none of you are applying your morality to your attractions 😭 I've had this same conversation about Father numerous times and I was really hoping you guys would get the point of that but it's like I have to state to the fandom every single character who is either a bigot, an abuser, or both because otherwise you'll go and "simp" for them whilst completely disregarding that very important aspect of their character that SHOULD make them unattractive normally. It's really concerning how quick some people are to go all heart eyed for characters that are perpetrators of bigotry and I think some of you really need to start looking at what you're attracted to and ask yourself why you're attracted to people who would marginalize others and why that's clearly not a good thing because I think we've reached the point in time where we should understand that slipping something as serious as that aside just cuz a person is attractive is one of the reasons the problem never goes away and people never learn better. Who you're attracted to and desire from fiction does, in fact, translate to real life, and *that* is why it concerns people. It concerns people that you aren't immediately turned away when a character like Cree or Father does something objectively shitty and bigoted out of malice. This culture of simping for the biggest baddest villains (usually abusers and bigots, as stated previously) has gotta stop, please just simp for the villains who aren't morally fucked in the head. There's SO many of them. Stop picking the five people who are fucked in the head, don't want to change their stance, and make it their entire personality. I've seen enough people let themselves think it was okay to do that for long enough that they ended up driving themselves into a REAL relationship with somebody who was abusive or bigoted because they normalized it so much in their fictional worlds. Please stop normalizing thirsting for characters that represent real life moral fuck ups like acts of bigotry/oppression or abuse. You shouldn't have attraction to these types of people in any way except for aesthetic/physical attraction ("oh they *look* hot" kind) and if you do you need to enforce to yourself that it's not an attraction you should promote to yourself or others because it's dangerous and can cause major issues for yourself in the future.
And because I know some anon is gonna say something if I don't state this in the post (they always do when I forget...) NO I am not targeting people who do OC x Canon. If your OC is paired with Cree I don't give a fuck because it's not you who is looking at her and saying "she's a totally cool person and not a bigot" it's your OC and I'm sure you and your OC think very differently. I have no problem with people portraying problematic relationships as long as they do it right. I'm talking about you yourself trying to normalize this as okay or healthy is all.

As stated in the tags: Lizzie was a victim of misogynistic writing and she wouldn't have been "crazy" if she wasn't written to be a misogynistic (and fatphobic!) stereotype. I say fatphobic because everyone is constantly trying to tell Nigel that she's ugly and unattractive and it's 100% just because she's fat. We all know it because that's how this show writes.
being a lizzie devine fan before the 2020s was a form of government mandated torture

Content warning: a LOT of criticism of KND, I don't usually put warnings because it's super important to acknowledge the flaws of the show from time to time but I acknowledge a LOT in this post so. Lol. Just a fair warning because too much acknowledge of how much a media messed up at a time can screw with some people
No shade to OP because I get what they're trying to communicate and they probably haven't seen the show in ages (and I do affirm/talk about what they're trying to communicate below this block of rant) - but choosing KND as a representation for "effort towards concept and execution" is so unfortunate and this is coming from a KND super fan. I love this show to death but god the writing was so atrocious sometimes, every single piece of lore was devised on the spot which makes the general lore very confusing and sometimes conflicting (although I tend to give it a pass because it was intended as an innocent kids show not a whole developed sci-fi), and KND had such a big problem with promoting bullying and fatphobia that I know of at least a few people who have stated that either their own perception or somebody else's perception was influenced by having seen that content on KND. You can't even try to argue that this was a "product of time" because while I understand that fatphobia and eating disorders were absolutely horrific at the time the show was airing, I've yet to see ANY Cartoon Network show that's as bad about it as KND. They took absolutely every single chance they could to diminish the depth of their fat or female characters in comparison to the others and we're lucky that they gave depth to Abby after a few seasons. They treated subjects like child abuse as if they were funny, adding cutesy sound effects and funny physics to the act of it happening instead of either not showing it at all or going about it with less "funniness", and overall... The writing just wasn't as good as nostalgia makes some people think. I love the concept of the show, and what lore *is* legible is absolutely amazing and I have a lot of fun building off of it, but I've watched numerous cartoons front to back from this exact era of kids cartoons and nothing was quite as brutally written and inconsistent as KND. There's some amazing and innovative episodes that exist, and KND does have a wonderful place in the history of cartoons. But at the same time, I'm lucky we're past that. The creator of the show has had a lot of time to grow since then and I'm sure now that he's looking back on KND, he isn't exactly happy with how he handled everything. I think if KND happened again today, it would probably do a lot better. But at the time, and even now, KND was very poorly managed and execution could have been so, so much better if they didn't decide to write every other joke to be straight up bullying, and actually decided to handle (even if discreetly) topics like child abuse and misogyny in a more respectful way. If it had similar writing to other shows on air at the time like Billy and Mandy or Ed, Edd n Eddy, I think the show as a whole would've been a lot better and more coherent in terms of lore. But the show *is* 20 years old. It's older, and as far as I'm aware, Warburton's first production. Any impact it had on youth doesn't occur anymore because it's off the air. It was an amazing show in a lot of areas, but it had so many issues with the writing and consistency that I just can't pair it with other kids shows that it aired alongside in terms of quality.
Although going back to the original post: totally get what this person is trying to say and I could go on a whole ramble about how poor children's media is today. It wasn't always the greatest in the 2000s, but the 2000s had so much diversity, so much originality, and so much charm to it. Things like the CN City bumpers don't happen anymore and it sucks because that was just such a charming, creative, and unique aspect of the program. Things like that, along with the diverse palette of shows, made childhood so much more joyful and intriguing. It was so much more colorful and vast. Any taste you had was filled by the 2000s cartoons and the programs they had. Things like FusionFall as well - it was the peak of children's entertainment and care. Video games, lots of toys on advertisement, lots of shows and programs designed just for kids. I didn't get to live it, yet I yearn for this experience constantly. It was such a perfect time to be a kid, and the way we go about childhood today is so poor in comparison. There's barely anything for kids today, animation as an industry is crumbling significantly, and any remaining shows are being treated poorly by whatever program hosts it. I do wish we could go back to the atmosphere we created for kids back in the 2000s. I think our youth would be doing so much better if we had the vibes of children's content like it was in the 2000s.
Gosh do you guys know just how much more elevated the entire kids media landscape would currently be if there was even one original show with a concept and execution on par with the level of effort put into KND??

The funniest part of my Wally designs is watching his hair go from flufftropolis to "I didn't realize testosterone therapy would thin it" once he's middle aged and any semblance of pride he had towards his hair making it look like he had an extra inch of height on him is crushed

Caught wind that beetles-sanban took accountability and made improvements to how they draw fat people so that it's more respectful - I can't access their account for some reason so I can't actually verify anything but if that's true I'm ecstatic to hear that somebody in this fandom finally took responsibility after finding out they were (intentionally or not) slimming down fat characters and worked on improving their art to better represent/acknowledge fat people!!! Breath of fresh air really... I feel like most people go on rambling to me about how they don't slim fat characters down or how it's "just their style" (the same excuse for literally every "removal of diverse features" ever) as if I can't overlap their skinny characters with their "fat" ones and only get maybe 3 extra pixels of width on the fat person - AND I've also had a lot of people say they'd work on their way of drawing fat people and then come out 2 years later with the exact same "style" of fat people where there's absolutely no difference between the two - so it's so nice to hear somebody took responsibility for an honest mistake and worked on improving it actively and consistently. They were a bit stubborn about it at first before I said something, but they eventually got it done and realized they weren't doing a good job at depicting variation originally. That's really all I can ask for lol.

Why do you think “Heterophobia” and “Cisphobia isn’t real? I get that you have probably never witnessed it, but hate against anyone is real and there will always be a cause of it. Heterophobia comes in three different ways and Cisphobia comes in two. If that person says “DNI if you’re:…” then respect it because they are NOT misguided, they have a reason to say it. Please just respect that hate can come to anyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race and culture. Again I respect that you’ve probably never witnessed it or heard about it up until now but it real. Anyone can be victims to anything and maybe this person has been exposed to it and doesn’t want be exposed to it again…
Thank you for you’re time, Kenny
Siiighh. First off you completely missed my follow-up post which explains exactly this. But just in case that post somehow got restricted and people aren't seeing it,
You cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT oppress and oppressor. I'm not saying that people who hate everyone who is cis or people who hate everyone who is heterosexual don't exist - I'm saying it's not an act of bigotry. It CAN'T be. Prejudice? Sure. Bigotry? Absolutely fucking not. The system is wired to give these people automatic privilege just for EXISTING. You walk into a bar as a cishet and you're more safe than I am. Somebody saying "I hate cis people" fully unironically and in a way where they mean EVERY INDIVIDUAL does not, and cannot, have the same affect that saying "I hate trans people" does. Because anybody who sees them say that will be like, "oh okay, well, they're just an asshole". Anybody who sees somebody say "I hate trans people" may be persuaded into hating trans people, because trans people ARE OPPRESSED. They are MINORITIES. People who see another person hating trans people will be fueled by it, and thus the vicious cycle of bigotry continues. You can't match that kind of impact with prejudice of cis people or heterosexuals. That's why they don't get their own word for something that's supposed to represent the systematically encouraged discrimination, and inherent disadvantage + lack of safety in life as a result, of a minority.
And don't think this doesn't extend elsewhere. "Reverse racism"/racism to whites doesn't exist, either, and I'm not going to pretend it does. I'm white, by the way. It just doesn't exist in Western and European places, and every single argument I see isn't just saying "oh well it exists elsewhere where whites are major minorities". For the same reason that you cannot be "phobic" to cis people is the same reason you cannot be racist to white people. Prejudice is the right word. But a word that is meant to represent SYSTEMATIC SUFFERING and SUFFERING ENDURED JUST FOR EXISTING no we are not using that on people who are actively having better luck in life just because they happened to be born majority.
PS: the person is not a victim of shit because they're both not cis and not het! It seems solely because they're misguided <33
