I just want everyone to know - here in the Netherlands we're USED to the government falling because someone pulls the plug on it somehow before their term is up

The government that has just fallen lasted 11 months - the fascists pulled the plug because they won't get their own way with immigration.

the government before that (cabinet Rutte IV) collapsed after roughly a year and a half in July 2023 - after the largest party (VVD - so called conservative-liberals) pulled the plug because they didn't get their own way with immigration.

before that cabinet Rutte III lasted from October 2017 until january 2021 because of a rapport on people (often with non western last names) being falsely accused of fraud with childcare benefits (and losing their house, business, sometimes even custody of their kids over it) and the role the government played in that.

Rutte II - the last government to serve the full term from 2012 until 2017

Rutte I - October 2010 until April 2012 - the fascists (same as now - just somewhat milder back then) pulled the plug because they weren't getting their own way.

And that's just the last 15 years. Because throwing a tantrum like a toddler is easier than trying to *do* something about the problems in the country.

For almost a year, our government has been "functioning" like a kindergarten. Petty fights, doing politics over twitter instead of in-person, ministers who don't even know what their job is, etc.

Today, that horribly racist, ableist, homophobic, and transphobic party went to a meeting and in less than 10 minutes, stated they are leaving the coalition, which has caused our most right-wing cabinet in my lifetime to fall

We're celebrating a chance for our country to turn left again. And we're celebrating the end of one of the worst cabinets in recent history
