Hi! Just discovered you through tumblr and I am blown away by your work! I am currently off twitter, Facebook, instagram and TikTok because of US politics and a personal distain for billionaires, but it’s hard to keep up with artists on Tumblr. I would never ask you, as an artist, to join a new site because it seems incredibly overwhelming to keep up with so many different platforms and algorithms, but I wanted to let you know that if you ever chose to join Blue Sky I would follow you in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing your wonderful work, I’ll be keeping up with you to see when the February drop happens :)

You can tell by that Feb. shout out how old this ask is 🤣. You basically summed it all up in one with this and thank you for wording it so thoughtfully. I have no love for meta or billionaires, but the idea of maintaining one more social media (or trading them out) sends me into as much of an existential crisis as cleaning up my email inbox (I hate them emails folks you ain’t never going to get newsletters from me). I would love to, it really seems Blue Sky is the real-est deal, and when I can devote time to it I promise I will 🫡

Bat request reminded me I hadn’t done mugs in a while! Also in the last video someone asked what brush I use for the line work and it’s like 6ish$ 5/0 brush from Michael’s, I think in the area for acrylic painting? But not positive.

sorry if youve been asked this before, but im curious if you paint the patterns on your pieces with underglaze then use a clear glaze after theyve been bisqued, or if you just paint the patterns with colored glazes on the bisqueware? love your work its so charming!

It is the former, underglazes and clear glaze on top. I primarily use Amaco underglazes, but recently have been testing out speedball in colors I can’t otherwise get to fire to cone 5 and hold up well, and they’ve been really nice.

A classic sea turt. He has a weird lil spot where I forgot to smooth out the underside of a flipper, so is discounted, but that ain’t stopping him from being the best lil tea light friend.

So I am still working on the optimal way to do shop drops on the website, love the site so far because I get to show everyone everything, but once it gets close to update I do hide everything again so that I can put in the proper inventory and get them scheduled to all pop up at 5.

This may change if I find a more optimal method, but Nautilus set will be in the shop shortly!
