What if we normalize idols being in their 30s and still be idols because that's what they like to do without calling them 'old'.
What if we normalize relationships in kpop because idols also fall in love.
What if we normalize that kpop idols are friends with each other and support each other without creating fanwars.
What if we normalize that idols can be in the game after so many years and they can still be as talented as younger generations.
What if we normalize to respect other kpop groups and soloists and stop the ridiculous amount of hate they receive daily.
What if we normalize that idols also have problems and they can be as depressed, anxious and feel alone as we do.
What if we normalize that idols are human beings.

BEOMGYU | Beauty and The Beast (2.2k)
“Careful with the hair!”
You hiss when Jinsung, your classmate and stylist for tonight, slaps your hand away after attempting to touch your hair.
“If I even see a single hair strand out of place, so help me I will shave your entire head.” He warns, tapping your shoulder with his brush. “Now go out there and get us some customers. The others said they’ll have the food ready on time.”
“Alright.” You try to smile at him and he returns your smile with a sour look.

SOOBIN | Snow White (1.5k)
The streets of the university were busier than usual, with various departments and classes loitering around the campus holding their own events for the Halloween festivities tonight. Your class decided to keep things simple, stating that you’re already working hard enough with your studies so why not use this time to relax and well, not do much despite still participating. Yeah, that’s it. You couldn’t agree more.
So the entire class opted to hand out free candied apples to those that can recite the names of all seven dwarves in Snow White. It was that or going out dressed as said dwarves while aggressively singing the Heigh Ho song as you went around the campus. Although, you did spot a few classmates of yours earlier wearing dwarf costumes but then again you could’ve just been seeing things. Too much candied apples, you think.

YEONJUN | Tangled (1.8k)
A cloud of dust flurries around the room the moment you set one of the boxes down the floor, making you sneeze. You half expected the theatre storage room to be cleaner this time of the year due to the frequent visits and rummaging of the other students, but that sadly wasn’t the case.
Your class was one of the few that had a small reenactment planned for tonight’s event and you were doing Tangled. Your class president’s request to gather the props and costumes needed for tonight was no match for the excitement you felt when you’d been granted to play the role of your favorite character, Rapunzel. You just didn’t expect the place to look like it hadn’t been cared for in years, and the props and costumes to be as heavy as they are. A little help would be nice right now.
The door creaks and you quickly turn around, sighing in relief when you saw the the chair still pressed against the old door . Your class president had warned you about the door’s broken knob. The thing can only be opened from the outside, and once you get shut in, you can only hope for someone to notice and get you out. Unless, of course, you’re willing to face the consequences for breaking school property.
You exercised a little caution upon entering earlier, blocking the door from accidentally closing. You check the time on the clock. The play was going to start in an hour or so and luckily you were already in costume, so that’s one less problem. All you needed to do now was gather the last box of costumes and you were out. The box was placed at the far end of the room so you make your way there, carefully maneuvering around the dusty cabinets and compartments as to not soil your costume.
Another creak echoes in the room and you paid it no mind, crouching down to check the contents of each box. The chair you placed there was pretty heavy, and it’d take more than the wind to push it away. You continue to check the boxes until you hear another creak and the sound of the door slamming shut.

Lilacs || Choi Soobin
Tumblr media
Pairing/s: Soobin x reader

A/N: i'm sorry i couldn't make up a summary but i hope the tags are enough.
° ° ° ° °
You were seated at the very back of the cinema, crying your eyes out in silence when the credits of the movie rolled in.
The movie was anything but sad. So, when you walked out of the cinema with puffy eyes, a few people sent you strange looks, and some sent you pity. And as if your scarf could hide your pain, you pull it up to cover a fraction of your face.
It was a Friday night. You were supposed to be with your boyfriend, him promising you he'd be in time for the movie still clear in your head.
Ever since Jimin, your boyfriend, moved to Seoul to continue his studies there, he barely had time to spend time with you. He always seemed to have so many excuses as to why he couldn't make it, or why he left you waiting for him, and falling asleep with your Skype account open.
Tonight was supposed to be your night together with him. It felt like it had already been six months since you last saw him. You felt really excited to see him again, wondering if something changed about him. If Seoul had managed to change your goofy little prince.
The night was a bit chilly, with the winter season nearing. You wore a simple peach-colored floral dress under a maroon coat, your neck wrapped up with the purple scarf he gave you on your first date.
You smile at the thought of your first date with Jimin. You recall it was also a night like this one: chilly, but his warmth enveloped your hand and your heart. "I wanna be your sunlight," you remember his cheesy line that night as he was holding onto your hand. Just like how you're still holding onto your relationship with him.
You waited there for three hours, telling yourself not to overthink things. That maybe he just got caught in the traffic or maybe an emergency came up and he lost his phone on the way. Or, even, maybe he forgot the way to the local cinema that you would always go to.
But when you saw him walking out of a restaurant near the cinema with his senior he told you not to worry too much about, it was then that all the doubts you ever had of him were proved right.
It all made sense to you then how he seemed too busy for you since the new school year began. How he seemed to be less attentive to you. It never occured to you how he insisted on meeting you at the cinema and not letting you meet him in the station, but now it all made sense.
You remember your heart dropped and your world crashed at the sight of them holding hands and looking like the best couple your country's ever had. You felt nauseous at the thought of you finally being replaced after four years worth of promises. And how those promises are breaking at each second that passed by, which to them probably felt like an eternity with each other's presence. And you feel hurt, because he felt like that with you too.
A ding in your phone startled you and snapped you out from your thoughts. Seeing the sender's name, your heart ached again.
[ChimChim ♡]:
baby i'm sorry i forgot to tell you but i had a lot of homework and projects to do tonight. i hope you understand. i'll make it up to you somehow. ♡
A tear fell from the corner of your eye as you tried to hold back the pain from letting it hurt everything inside of you.
You thought to yourself how it would've been so easy for him to just break it off with you, but you sat there on a swing in an empty playground wondering how long he's planning to act like that. To act as if the love he claims he felt on your first meeting is still there. To act as if you're still the one he's looking forward to spending his lifetime with.
You swallowed a lump in your throat and closed your eyes, wondering to yourself if you did anything wrong or if there was something that you didn't do for him.
When he left for Seoul that day, a small part of you thought that would be the last time he would tell you the words I love you and mean it. That after that day, he'd meet other women who are much more than you are. And it scared you that he would fall for them and think of you as just another puppy love of his.
You hoped it wouldn't be that way. But seeing him with another girl and thinking that he probably thinks of her as his whole new promise,— and you, just another one he broke— made you think that you never should've thought that way in the first place. That maybe if that never crossed your mind and never gave the Universe or Fate a reason to betray you, maybe he was still yours.
You let out a sob, letting your tears fall from your eyes as you thought and thought and thought of all the things that wouldn't have happened if only you had been enough for him. "Damn it." You choke on your tears, laughing at yourself as you thought about how you can't even cry without messing up. That, maybe, that was one thing he didn't like about you: being a mess. And maybe that was one thing he didn't see in the woman he's with that night.
The playground was empty, so it didn't matter to you what people would think about you crying and laughing at yourself. Since no one was really there for you to explain and justify your state.
 But then you met him.
You never liked empty playgrounds. You never liked the empty feeling that deserted places emit. But tonight, that didn't matter. The emptiness of the playground no longer mattered to you as you cried your heart out, filled with too many emotions.
You looked down and watched as your tears soaked a part of your scarf. Out of frustration, you pulled the scarf off of your neck and threw it on the ground in front of you.
You reached out your hand to pick it up, hesitating as if picking up the scarf could mean anything more than just picking up a scarf. As if, picking it up would mean forgiving Jimin and letting him go. But no, you're not even near ready in forgiving him, or letting him go. No. I don't want to let him go. Not yet.
"Maybe he just felt lonely and found comfort with that woman," you thought out loud, oblivious of another person's presence in that deserted place. A pair of eyes watching you as your hand retreats to your side.
You watched as a pair of brown Grenson's boots slowly approached you. You were a bit surprised that someone else was in that playground with you. Your hopes of it being Jimin thrown off the window moments ago, so you didn't bother looking up. You stood up from the swing and was about to go when the person that stood before you pulled you by your arm.
Shocked at his own actions, he let go of it just as instantly and muttered a "sorry". You looked back at him and watched as he picked up the scarf that you intentionally dropped just a few moments ago. "Is this yours?" He asked you.
You stared down at the scarf on his hands before saying, "It's not mine." Attempting to leave for the second time, he pulls your arm again to stop you from leaving. "Can you stop?" By then, you were already weirded out by him and, lowkey, scared about the things that he could do to you in an empty playground in the middle of the night.
"I'm sorry," he said again, letting your arm free once more. "I also apologize for having accidentally listened in your thoughts."
"Are you saying you can read my mind?" You asked him, unsure of what to make of the whole situation though the embarrassment of him listening in your thoughts have weighed more than the strangeness of your interaction.
"No, um," he hesitates, "What I'm saying is that you were thinking out loud, and I accidentally heard them."
It had already been half an hour or so since your actual encounter with him. Your feet pushed and pulled as you swung yourself on the swing slowly, unsure of what to say to the other. Somehow, the stranger had convinced you to stay a little longer.
"Soobin," the person beside you finally spoke up. You looked at him with your eyes narrowed, wondering what he meant by that. And as if he saw the question your eyes held, he added, "My name. My name is Choi Soobin."
You made an 'o' shape with your mouth as you nodded slowly in understanding. You told him your name in return, your foot kicking on a pebble as you thought of Jimin again. It used to feel so nice to hear him call you by your name. "So, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" You asked him.
"Hm, I could ask the same to you," he lets out a soft chuckle as he looked at you.
"Well, I came here to feel nothing, I guess," you told him truthfully and he tilted his head in confusion. "I mean, this is an abandoned playground. It feels empty. I'm feeling so many things at once and it's very overwhelming. And I just figured that, maybe, coming here will help me stop feeling all these things altogether."
"Hmm," you watched him as he hummed to himself, his gaze on the stars that have been accompanying the both of you in the silence of the night. "Is that how it works?"
"Well, I don't know and it doesn't really matter now," you replied with a sigh.
The both of you fell silent again, your breaths are the only thing that could be heard aside from the birds chirping in the distance. You look at him once more, taking in his features as if wanting to remember him and your encounter. A part of you had always been wishing you'd wake up from this dream anytime soon. And if you were to wake up then, maybe you'd want to remember him.
Now that you've watched him a little closely, you realized his hair had been dyed a dark blue. He's wearing a dark purple coat, and underneath it a blue and white striped sweater. A smile crept up your face as you recall something. He looks at you and catches you smiling while looking at him. He raised a brow, "What are you smiling about?"
"I'm sorry, something just came to mind," you told him, your smile slowly forming into one that seemed to carry pain. "Do you know what purple lilacs mean?" You asked him, shifting your eyes to the ground.
Soobin didn't say anything and just waited for what you had to say.  "It means first love," you tell him, the smile on your lips finally disappearing and replaced with a frown. "Jimin had always given me lilacs every sixth day of the month. It was his way of letting me know that he's happy I'm his first love." It was foolish of me to think I'd be his last.
"Hey, you wanna go grab coffee or something? I bet you're already freezing," Soobin said after a long moment of silence.
"I don't think coffee is what I need right now, though," you thought to yourself as you chewed on your inner right cheek. "Do you mind if we go somewhere else? Kind of embarrassing, but I haven't eaten dinner yet." You stood up from the swing and walked over to him when he quickly nodded and jogged his way to the street, "I know just the place. Come on!"
Soobin turned around to face you with a playful smile on his lips, "Do you want your scarf back yet?"
You laughed a little at this and insisted, "It's not mine." Soobin just shrugged his shoulders and said, "I'll hold on to it for a while until you admit it's yours, then."
“I have lived my whole life here yet it’s the first time I’ve heard of this place,” you told Soobin as you watched him take a sip of his black coffee. “Do you come here a lot?”
“Hmm, yeah,” Soobin replied before taking another sip of his coffee. “I came here with my girlfriend... a lot...when she was with me...” He paused. He never really thought of talking about it with you. He wanted to accompany you and comfort you that night, not the other way around.
“Really? But where is she now?” You asked, your eyes widened at the fact that the person before you actually has someone special in his life. It’s not surprising to you that he’d have a girlfriend, but seeing him alone in the playground in the middle of the night does make you question why she’s not with him that night. “Why didn’t she come with you?”
Soobin fell silent, reaching out to his cheese bread before taking a few bites off of it. He was debating whether he should tell you about it or not, afraid that if he did then his eyes would betray him and show his tears. “She's no longer with me,” he hesitantly said, unsure of how he should word it out. “Don’t worry about it,” he said with a smile.
“I’m sorry, Soobin,” your eyes softened at the realization, feeling bad for making him remember, probably, an awful memory to him. “Are you alright?”
“Of course I am. She probably wouldn’t wanna see me all sad and miserable because of what happened. So, I promised her I will stay happy, even with her no longer with me.” Soobin then took another bite off his cheese bread before sending you another one of his charming smiles.
With Soobin so close and with the room that was well lit, you were able to see how his dimples reappear whenever his lips curved a smile and, also, how dark the bags under his eyes had looked that night. It made you wonder to yourself if the reason he was in that playground that night was because he didn’t want his girlfriend to see him cry as he was hidden in the darkness. You said nothing about it, not wanting to make him feel awkward and pretended not to notice.
You continued to eat your ramen, and took a quick glance on the wall clock not far from your table. It read: 12:34AM. “Amazing that such a place exists in a pretty remote area of the city and is open 24/7, huh?” You heard Soobin say with a little chuckle as he watched your facial expression.
“Sure is,” you admit with a nod. “So, after this, where do you wanna go?”
Soobin raised a brow at your question, “Don’t you wanna go home?” He asked you.
Home. Sure is an interesting word. “I mean, I don’t think I wanna go back yet. I was planning to do a little strolling. What about you?” You were fine with being alone. But it was a little surprising on your part when you felt yourself hope. A small part of you had hoped for him to say he didn’t wanna go home yet either. Maybe you wanted a little more of his company.
“Do you mind if I go with you?” He asked, chewing on his bread that never seemed to run out. “It’s pretty late and I don’t think my conscience would ever let me sleep knowing I left you alone in the streets.”
“I’ll be fine. I’m kind of used to being alone now,” you told him with a shrug, contradicting what you had just thought before. You watch him stifle a laugh and before you could say anything else, he stands up from his seat and reaches a hand out to you, “Then let me be one of the few people who will accompany you in moments when you think that way.”
Soobin took you to so many places in a short amount of time. He took you to an empty amusement park, spending all your time there talking and singing to the wind all the love songs you both enjoyed to sing before things happened.
And at that moment, you felt as if those love songs weren't only meant for lovers. That they were meant for everyone. Even those who have had their hearts broken. You wondered then why, to you, it always felt like it was forbidden for those songs to be enjoyed by people who haven't found their one love yet.
He also took you to church. Actually, the both of you were on your way to the boulevard when you passed by the church and he took your hand in his and ran to the big cross. The church, though not completely empty, was quiet. Almost like a library. The church seemed peaceful.
You've always believed in wishes. 11:11, falling stars, four-leaf clovers, stray eyelashes, and more. That night, you watched Soobin close his eyes and whisper to himself. It wasn't a wish. It was a prayer.
You wondered if he prayed for his girlfriend. Maybe. Maybe he prayed for himself too. The him without her.
When you arrived at the boulevard, Soobin thought it would be better if you sat by the stairs where the sea meets the land. "This is my favorite spot," Soobin told you as he guides you on the steps before you both sat down on the fourth step. "Well, our favorite spot."
At that moment, you realized something. A smile tugged on your lips, looking down to your knees before your gaze landed on the sea. "You know, you were wrong."
"About what?" Soobin tilted his head to the side, his gaze still fixed on the sea before you.
"About your girlfriend," you simply replied. He turned to you at the mention of his past lover, wondering what you meant. "She's not gone. She's still with you."
"What are you talking about?" He asked, his eyes wide open at the thought of you figuring it out.
You raised a brow at how he was acting when you realized what he meant. You stifled a laugh, "What? No! No, no. Not that." You watched him place a hand on his chest and heave out a sigh.
"Seriously, don't scare me like that," he said, glad you hadn't and played along. "But anyway, what did you mean when you said she isn't gone?"
"I mean, she isn't gone. At all. She's there with you. In your memories, and in your heart," you started to say. "And you love her all the same even without you having to see her every day."
"I do. I love her so much." Soobin shifted his gaze to the sea again. You could tell he was longing for her again. "I have always thought of her as my greatest love. I still do, really. But life is unfair like that. The moment you find the one person whom you'd want to spend your whole lifetime with, it takes them away from you." Or you away from them.
You fell silent, not sure what to say to him after what he said. He didn't say any more either as he listened to the waves crash and the tides pull out.
"You must be an angel," Soobin thought out loud and faced you once more. You turned to him then and locked eyes with him, his mesmerizing dark orbs already brimming with tears. "I guess we were really meant to meet and comfort each other tonight."
"Is that how it works?" You asked him with a faint smile on your face. "Does that make you an angel too?"
"The places we've been tonight, are the exact same places my girlfriend and I used to frequent back in the days. It hurts to be here alone." Soobin was starting to cry, but he never raised his sleeve up to wipe them away. He looked at you and noticed you were trembling because of the cold. Without saying anything, he took the purple scarf from inside his coat and wrapped it around your neck, "Sorry, I know you'd just say it isn't yours if I asked again. Just think of it as a lost scarf that we found in the playground and now you had to use it because of the cold. Genius, right?"
You laughed at his suggestion, not realizing there were already tears streaming down your face until you saw them drop in his hands. "Thank you for the scarf, Soobin."
You locked eyes once again, neither of you not wanting to turn away. "I miss you, Jae. I miss you so much," Soobin said while looking at you. "Thank you for being here."
Soobin then placed his hands behind your ears and pulled you in for a kiss. You could feel his tears streaming down your cheeks as well. When he let you go, he stood up to his feet and in panic, he bowed down to you repeatedly, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I really am. I won't bother you again."
Your eyes were wide open, shocked would be an understatement. When you looked back at him, he was doing a 90-degree bow with his eyes shut, his cheeks still stained with his tears, and maybe a mix of yours. "I'm really sorry, Y/N. I didn't mean to."
He never told you why he did it. After what happened, he just went up and left. He never came back, and you never saw him again. In the playground, the amusement park, the boulevard, the eatery, even in the church he wasn't there.
You stayed in the boulevard until sunrise the next day and the next couple of days, trying to recall everything that happened that night. Trying so hard to recall Soobin.
 Until nothing came.
 Not even a name.

Candy Crush || Huening Kai
Tumblr media
pairing/s: Heuning Kai X Reader
genre: fluff
Your brows were knitted as you played a game in the bus to kill time when you realized that the guy who had sat beside you a few hours ago was watching you the whole time which annoyed you but, so as not to make a scene, you kept quiet.
You were stuck in that one level and couldn't seem to pass all the required things in the game with your limited moves and you could practically hear the guy beside you trying to hold back his laugh as he watched you struggle.
It was probably the fortieth time you had lost the game and the fortieth time he had tried not to laugh at you when you suddenly turned your phone off and placed it inside your bag.
"Awh, why'd you give up?" The guy beside you asked, shame was nowhere to be seen in his face as he looked at you with furrowed brows.
"Are you serious?" You muttered under your breath as you took a quick glance at the guy beside you.
The guy just smiled at you and you thought how it was uncommon for someone to have that kind of smile: box-like. "You almost got it. Didn't anyone tell you about not giving up that easily?"
"Um," at this point, you didn't know what to say or if you really have to reply to the stranger beside you.
"You can call me Heuing Kai," the guy said, his hand held up for yours to shake.
Your brows furrowed even further, if that was even possible, as you stared at him in disbelief. "Sorry, did I say something?" The guy, Heuning Kai, asked you as he pursed his lips and pulled his hand back.
"Nothing," you mumbled, looking away from him.
Heuning Kai, you thought it sounded familiar and wondered if you've heard of that name before but eventually shrugged it off, too tired to think about it.
A few days later, you find yourself in a newly-opened fancy restaurant in a dress your friend had picked for you.She had set you up in a blind date to someone only she knew the name of.
"You sure you're not (Y/N)?" A stranger asked you.
Sure, it was your name but then why would your friend give your name as a codename?
"That sucks."
You furrowed your brows, "I guess."
"No, really. I wanted you to be her. Damn, I don't even care about my actual date anymore." The guy mumbled under his breath but loud enough for you to hear.
He looks familiar, you thought as your brows were left knitted.
"If you matched the blue ones, you would've made a combo and beat the level in no time!" He had told you after telling you his name."You matched the purple ones which didn't even make a big impact. Aigoo!"
Your eyes widened at the realization that the person in front of you was actually the same person who talked to you a few days ago in the bus.
"Are you on a blind date too?" The guy in front of you asked, his brows furrowed and lips kept into a thin line as he waited for your answer.
"Yeah," you shrugged.
"Too bad," he began, "But then I can't ditch my date either. Good luck, anyway."
Heuning Kai stood up from the seat across you and straightened himself. He turned to walk away and find his date but stopped mid-way to send you a wink, "I'll see you around, gorgeous."
"Where is she?" You thought as you waited for your friend just outside the restaurant. "I should've brought with me a fucking coat," you mumbled to yourself, rubbing your arms to keep yourself warm.
"You cold?" You let out a yelp when you suddenly heard someone speak from behind you. You turned to look it was him again- Heuning Kai.
Without asking you, he took off his jacket and wrapped it around you. "I hope that's enough to warm you up."
"What are you doing?" You don't remember how but you're sitting on the passenger's seat of Heuning Kai’s car and on your way to your friend's place where you were currently staying at after he turned his GPS on.
"Um, taking you home?" Heuning Kai chuckled at your question.
"That's not what I meant." You pursed your lips as you watched the view from outside through the window. You stayed silent after that, not hearing Heuning Kai’s attempts to converse with you as your ears were plugged with the mint green colored earphones of yours.
"Thanks for driving me back home." You flashed him a genuine yet tired smile as you handed him his jacket back.
Heuning Kai stared at his jacket before looking at you. "Wash it," he said.
"What?" You were slightly offended. You barely wore the jacket he lent you and he already thinks it's too dirty that you have to wash it before you give it back to him. But, you thought wrong.
"So we could see each other again."

Confess || Beomgyu
Tumblr media
pairing/s: Beomgyu X Reader
genre: fluff
summary: all your life, you've tried to keep a low profile as per your father's orders. but you may not entirely be as lowkey as you thought the moment someone asks for a dance with you in the night of the seniors' ball.
“She's alone, ” Soobin said as he watched his friend, Beomgyu, stare at you sitting alone in a roundtable of five, your eyes on the dance floor where bodies of people danced along to the slow romantic music playing in the speakers. “This is your chance.”
Without a word, Beomgyu stood up from his seat and walked towards you that he had been staring for quite a while. Looking over his shoulder to send a tight smile at Soobin who, obviously, didn't expect him to actually go and make his move.
You let a sigh escape your lips, a part of you regretting ever showing up in your seniors' ball. You knew you weren't pretty but never thought anyone would ever actually want to dance with you. But it didn't really surprise you. You pretty much spent your four years in high school keeping a low profile, just what your father wanted you to.
A fake cough broke you out of your train of thoughts, whatever was in it. You looked up to see a fairly familiar face, brows furrowed as you were confused why he suddenly came up to you.
A part of you thinking he might've wanted to dance with you, dismissing it as a stupid thought afterward.
“What is it?” That came out impolite and you were aware, silently cursing at yourself for being mentally absent in your speech subjects for not knowing what to say after missing a liter of oxygen upon seeing his intimidating features.
Beomgyu's brows were furrowed and a frown tugged his lips downward. He looked upset and mad as if someone had stepped on his pet turtle.
“May I have this dance?” And that came out forced, both of you shocked but with different reasons. His fingers fidgeted, playing on the hem of his nicely tailored suit, before lifting it up and gesturing for your hand, “Lee Y/N?”
You hear your name fall from his lips and your eyes widen even more. But nonetheless, place your hand on his, standing up only to realize how tall the man in front of you actually is.
He leads you to the dance floor, his eyes focused only on you. You are beautiful, that was a thought he recognized. Stunning is something he knew you'd slay.
Beomgyu lifts your hand to place it on his chest and the other around his waist and you were so flustered, you almost forgot how to function like a normal person— or around him.
You started to dance then, swaying your hips from side to side as he was looking deep in your eyes. You took a quick glance at your perfectly fit hands before looking back at his hypnotizing ones. His eyes were like two black holes you could be forever lost in.
“I didn't catch your name?” You asked, breaking the ice that could've melted anyway under his strong yet soft gaze. But that was a lie and all your friends could testify.
“Choi Beomgyu, ” he simply says. You couldn't dismiss the tension between the two of you and thought that maybe you just didn't notice it before, but his voice was actually sweeter than you imagined.
You nodded your head, “Beomgyu, ” repeating his name with your own painted lips. “You look like someone I wouldn't forget, are you not from here?”
Regret washed you upon realizing what you had just said. Beomgyu looked surprised himself. So much for pretending you don't know him, now look where it's gotten you.
“That wasn't supposed to sound that way.” You were known for justifying almost all your actions, something he always found cute.
Even though it was only for a mere second, you couldn't seem to take the image of Beomgyu with a smirk on his face off of your mind.
“Don't worry about it, ” Beomgyu says, and then sighs. “Honestly, I can barely hear you at the sound of cliché love songs.”
Without saying another word, he stops from dancing and pulls you with him to the hallway where the music he referred to as cliché love songs sounded muffled. “I apologize; I just wanted to talk to you.”
“Fine with me, I'm not really fond of dancing anyway.” You shrugged before propping yourself and sitting on the marble floor.
“I'm supposed to talk to you about something, ” Beomgyu says, sitting beside you. He chewed on his left cheek as he thought about it for a while. “It's very important to me.”
“Go on?” You already figured it out. This part could no longer be considered a romantic.
Beomgyu's father is an employee in your parents' company and you heard your father was planning to fire at least fifty underperforming employees in their company.
“My father works for your parents, ” Beomgyu began. “It's not that I'm underestimating my father's abilities but I have noticed him so down lately and I can't help but think it must be this.”
It was true his father isn't someone you should look down on, he's actually the complete package. You didn't understand why he would think your father would fire his.
“You know, I was planning to confess my feelings for you tonight. But I wanted my father to keep his job too.” The shock was evident in your face. Sure, you were hoping to have a romantic night (with him), but you didn't expect him to actually have feelings for you. “I wanted to ask a favor.”
“Yeah?” It wasn't what caught your attention but you tried to focus on the main topic here.
“If, by any chance, you see his name on the list of people that your parents might fire, ” he paused for a while, trying to find the right words. “Will you please try and change their minds for me? I just can't stand seeing my father unhappy. He loves this job.”
“I can try, ” you admit.
Silence enveloped the both of you after that little exchange. You sat there, cold and awkward. Both thinking of anything that could lighten up the mood, but neither too courageous to actually speak up first.
“You said you have feelings for me?” You asked, instantly regretting you ever brought that up. “Nevermind! Forget I asked.”
“You're not actually my type, ” he says and you bit your tongue as a punishment for you. “Jieun is the kind of girl I'd go out with, to be completely honest.”
Lee Jieun. A college student in your university whom everyone likes. You agreed with him, Who wouldn't like Jieun?
You stayed silent, too embarrassed to say anything. Why did you have to bring that up?
“When I saw you in ninth grade, I thought you looked familiar. I realized you were actually that girl I see in my father's boss' office, reading books or writing on a notepad.” You nodded, listening intently at him. “I see you every time my father brings me with him to the company or whenever I go to the library.”
“I don't know, I just couldn't take my eyes off of you anymore, ” Beomgyu says, his voice lowering at every word. “And I couldn't stop it when my heart beat so crazy whenever I was near or around you.”
“I couldn't exactly say I like you, ” he admits. “I just have these feelings for you I can't understand. Dancing with you on the dance floor seemed so dangerous for me that I had to pull you out here. But now I'm even more nervous.”
“You're nervous?” You didn't believe it. He looked calm, composed, collected— totally not the definition of nervous that you knew.
Beomgyu locked eyes with you, his gaze was more intense than back at the dance floor that you wondered how you still haven't melted.
You thought it might be because of the dimly lit hallway that his eyes got darker by the second, but you didn't understand how you suddenly felt hot when it was so cold a few minutes ago.
“I am nervous. I'm anxious.” Beomgyu tells you. “You look even more beautiful tonight and it's killing me that I can't kiss you.”

Promise || Yeonjun
Tumblr media
pairing/s: Yeonjun X Reader
genre: fluff, angst(?)
summary: au where you and Yeonjun have to work multiple jobs to survive: pay bills, be fed, and such. he makes a promise to you after that one incident he can't seem to take off of his mind.
"It's almost the end of our shifts." You heard Yeonjun say as you were wiping the dishes clean. "I already closed down the bakery," he added, a sigh left his lips as he leaned himself on the oven.
"Thank you for your hard work." You bowed to him slightly, giving him a tired yet genuine smile. "You can leave now, I'll just finish this."
Yeonjun stared at you for a moment, his expression blank. Another sigh left his lips before he walked up to you and snatched the cloth and plate from you hands.
"I'll do it for you," he said before you could even say anything. You opened your mouth to protest only to shut it again. You decided it was useless to argue with him so you just nodded and let him do it.
You guessed it must be because you were too tired that you didn't notice Yeonjun was already walking you home and only realized it when you heard him mumble to himself, "I promise."
"What did you say?" You asked him as you walked your way towards your apartment.
Yeonjun sighed, glad you were spacing out and wasn't able to hear the things he had thought out loud. "Nothing."
You nodded, too tired to even argue.
It was how you always were and, probably, always will be— small talks.
Of course, both of you didn't and do not want that. You'll be co-workers, probably for the rest of your lives and small talks won't work help whatever relationship you've built in only three months.
"Are you doing alright?" Yeonjun asked you for the nth time that day and as usual, you just nodded.
You never really thought about how you became friends. You just knew he worked in the same places you worked and was also paid the same amount of money you're paid.
But maybe it was because of what happened that night that led you there. An incident which led to him feeling protective over you.
"I've told you a million times already, Y/N, I'm going to be beside you in case something happens." He told you again.
"Thank you for your concern but I don't want to bother you," you replied, taking a quick glance at the older man beside you who always wore an unreadable expression. "So, really you don't have to send me home every night, Yeonjun."
"Is there a problem in here, sir?" As expected, Yeonjun showed up from the kitchen and hid you behind him to talk to the customers that must've gotten themselves drunk with all the beer they had ordered along with their beef.
"Yes we do have a problem, mister." The man who had his tie hung loose around his neck and red as tomato replied, his voice slurred as he did so. "That young lady over there is our problem."
Yeonjun looked over his shoulder to take a peek of you, you looked scared as you tried to hide from behind him. "May I know how she has become a problem to all of you?"
"Thank you for what you did back there." You told him as he washed the last few dishes in the sink.
Yeonjun looked back at you, a warm smile plastered on your face as he watched you sit on the stool and wait for him to finish. "You need to be extra careful."
"You're a beautiful woman, Y/N." He added when he thought you'd stay silent for the entire time. "And you seem to attract lonely and bad people. That's why you should be extra careful."
"How did you know what was happening back there?" You asked him as he placed the cloth inside the drawer.
"Areum was telling us about a waitress getting harrassed outside but people were too afraid to help. And I had to see if it was you." He sighed, looking down at his feet then at you. "And it was you."
"I don't want something from before to happen to you again. Or worse. I just don't want anything to happen to you." Yeonjun was slowly approaching your sulking figure, raising your hand up to wipe the tears that had managed to escape your eyes.
"Why?" You managed to breathe out.
Yeonjun had had enough of it. Watching you tremble as you try to hold back the tears trying to escape from your eyes, yet failing at it, isn't easy for him. You had never broke down like this before, not in his presence. Not even after those times he had to save you from others that wanted to harm you.
So when you tried to speak, and he heard how your voice broke, a stray tear slips from one of his eyes.
"Why?" Yeonjun repeats your question, his hands carressing your cheeks and lifting your head slightly to shift your eyes on his. "I don't know, but there's no one else here to protect you. I don't like seeing you like this, or anyone for that matter. So as long as I am here, I will protect you. I promise you that."
