Yunho x Mingi , Yungi , Supernatural , Romance , Wolves , Shapeshifting , Hurt/Comfort , OT8 as side characters later

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

Yunho pulled at the sides of his hair, tears forming in his eyes as he struggled to grasp the reality of his situation. A man, that he now knew as Mingi, lay unconscious at his feet, naked as the day he was born. The rancher had no idea where this man came from or even if he was really a man. Every fiber of his being was screaming at him to run home and forget everything he just saw. But he couldn’t just leave the poor guy out in the cold. He couldn’t help but think what those wolves would do to him if they discovered he wasn’t dead.

“Shit...I’ll get you inside just...hang in there.” Yunho whispered in Mingi’s direction although he knew the strange man couldn’t hear him. He fumbled with the buttons of his outer shirt before removing and placing it on in injured man’s shoulders. The rancher was only a bit bigger than Mingi, so carrying him back would be a challenge. First, he tried to pull him onto his shoulders, but the tugging on his sore limbs made Mingi cry out in his stupor. “Sorry, sorry...” They had to go about this another way.

Yunho ultimately decided to carry him bridal style as to not injure him further. Mingi was lighter than he looked, but the rancher still struggled to hold his lanky body and dead weight. With all the quickness he could muster, he commanded his legs to run...well jog...back to the ranch house.

Once at the door, Yunho balanced on one leg and used his foot to press down on the handle. As the door opened, he and Mingi nearly fell into the house. He laid his patient on the worn out couch, grimacing at the blood stains that littered his shirt and the though of them soon blemishing his cushions. The rancher sat on the floor, racking his brain over what to do next. He looked up and the foreign body on his couch, eyes falling on a particularly nasty looking gash under his rib cage. A lightbulb lit in his brain as he jumped up and raced to the bathroom to retrieve his first aid kit, a bowl of hot water and a towel.

Once acquired, Yunho brought the small, and rather depleted, kit back to the living room with the other supplies. He soaked the towel, rung it out, and pressed it to the wound with little to no care. Mingi’s eyes shot open as he curled away from the hot towel and groaned in agony. “What the fuck was that!?”

Yunho fell backwards, cowering and stumbling on his apology. “I’m so sorry! It was my fault I- I was just trying to help...”

Mingi tried to sit up, but the radiating pain in his limbs sent him back down with a string of pained curses. He turned his gaze onto Yunho and spoke in a hushed and cautious tone “Where am I and who are you?”

“M-my name is Yunho and this is my house.” He brought himself to his feet in attempt to not look terrified. He cleared his throat and continued. “I saw a wolf- I saw YOU get attacked in the field and I thought you were...dead. I found you and you weren’t dead so...”

Mingi searched his foggy brain, eventually landing on a memory of looking up at the horrified face of the man in front of him as he begged for help. “Oh...”

Yunho hesitantly knelt down and rinsed the spot of blood from the towel in the hot water. Unsure if he should continue, he looked up at Mingi and warned “This is gonna sting a bit.”

Mingi wanted to protest due to the unfamiliarity of this man and his entire situation but seeing as he couldn’t run and this Yunho person looked like he wanted to help, he silently nodded his head and braced himself.

This time Yunho dabbed the gash with almost feather light touch. It still burned but this was a level of pain that Mingi could tolerate. Following each clean would, the rancher placed an appropriate bandage, adamantly avoiding the eyes that were burning a hole in his skull. Mingi may have been incapacitated, but he kept his eyes locked on this stranger, sizing him up in case he had to fight for his life.

“I’ll patch up your back when you get your strength.” Yunho laid down the last bandage on Mingi’s shoulder before looking up and realizing he had forgotten about his busted lip and eyebrow. He raised the towel to his face and froze. The two locked eyes and Yunho didn’t know how to feel. Mingi’s eyes were brimming with emotions. Pain. Fear. Worry. Tears hung on his eyelashes and the rancher didn’t know if those were the result of his ham-fisted patch job or...something else.

Mingi raised a trembling hand to wipe his eyes, breaking the spell. “Go on...”

“O-okay...”

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

The sun had just set, casting violet and orange hues across the stretch of fields behind the ranch house. Yunho, breathed an exhausted sigh as he shut the doors to the stable, securing his horses for the night. The short walk back to his home felt like forever as he desperately needed to rest after a long day of breaking in a new mare.

The sky had dimmed significantly as he reached his back porch. He sat rather roughly on the porch swing to give his back and feet a well deserved break. He propped his feet up on the railing and let himself be mesmeried by the waves of the evening winds flowing through the tall grass. The blades swayed to and fro making the field look like an ocean. The young man's breath calmed and slowed as he began to drift into sleep.

Yunho's eyes had only fluttered closed for a moment before he was jolted awake by a familiar and chilling sound. Howling echoed in the distance and it wasnt the wind. The rancher sat up straight at full attention as another howl rode on the evening air.

"Those damn wolves..." he hissed through his clenched jaw. The wolves that roam the sparce forest just off his property had become the bane of Yunho's existence after they attacked and maimed his prized palomino six months ago. His eyes narrowed as he focused in on the large shadows darting through the grass headed toward his home. 1, 2....3,4,5... A small gathering, but enough to cause harm. He wouldn't let them get the chance.

He crouched and reached under the porch swing for the two pans he would clap together to scare them away. He raised the pans above his head and prepared to strike up the chorus, but he froze. The shadows stopped the the middle of the field, growling and snarling. The darkness was starting to obscure his vision but from what Yunho could see, four of the wolves were surrounding the fifth.

There was an attack. Fighting, rolling, scratching and biting. This was immediately followed by a string of hurt cries and whimpers that nearly broke the ranchers heart. His arms fell in shock as he watched all but one of the wolves retreat into the trees. Even thought he was a man of nature, Yunho was still upset by what he had just witnessed.

As much as he didnt want to, the young man knew he had to go collect and dispose of the dead wolf so his horses wouldnt mess with the corpse in the morning. With a heavy heart he breifly went inside to gather his flashlight, a trashbag and a pair of gloves before setting off into the field. He couldnt say he wasnt afraid but he put on a brave face and trudged on, following the light of his flashlight.

The nervous rancher wasnt exactly sure where the wolf laid but when he hit the smell of blood, his heart sank. It only took a bit more searching to find a trail of blood leading to where the poor animal crawled in defeat. But what he found shook him to the core. Yunho pushed the thick grass aside and nearly fell backwards when his eyes fell upon the biggest wolf he had ever seen. The beast lay sprawled across the ground, as large as a full grown man and covered from snout to hind quarters in gashes and bites. Dumbfounded, the only thought in young man's mind was 'Thats not gonna fit in this trash bag...'

He didnt know what possessed him to do this but his hand moved on its own, reaching down to touch the creatures back. The moment his fingertips made contact with the fur, the downed wolf took in a sharp breath and began twitching. Yunho fell flat on his ass and scrambled backwards, breathing out a quiet "Oh shit, its alive."

Then something scary happened. The creature continued to twitch and shake, but the bloodied fur began to absorb into its body. Yunho stared in utter horror as canid limbs stretched and popped into the shape of human legs and arms, and the doggish snout contorted and morphed into a human face, scrunched in pain. In less than a minute, the injured wolf was gone and had been replaced with a bloody, bruised and naked MAN. Yunho sat in the cool grass, bathed in moonlight and confusion. He dared not move, afraid he might trigger another horrible transformation.

The naked man breathed heavily and shivered in the night chill, knees coming up to his chest and arms slowly wrapping themselves around his torso. His hair stuck to the sweat and blood on his brow that glistened in the light of the moon. The man's eyes opened just enough for him to look over at the foreign male that stared at him. His lips parted and a small, rough sound escaped his throat with difficulty, "Help...me..."

Those two words broke Yunho from his state of shock and he leaped to his knees, cautiously crawling closer to get a better look at the broken man on the ground. "I...what...what do I do!?"

The injured man's eyes began to roll back into his head and Yunho began to panic. "Wait! Wait hold on!" He placed a shaking hand on the mans shoulder and shook him a gently as he could. He needed to keep him awake. "Tell me your name!"

"Mmm..." he was fading in and out of conciousness and Yunho was running out of time.

"No no no wake up! Whats your name!?"

The man took in a long breath and let out a weak "M-mingi..." With that, he passed out completely.
