This is the 100th question. Your reflection on this experience? A lot of effort having to read all that right? GJ on your hard work. There were 2 questions I can't really answer.
Interviewer: Let's go over some of your more interesting answers. Interviewer: Unforgettable scenery: a waterfall in Nagano. KY: So yeah, a long time ago I drove to Nagano, and on the way to the inn there was a sign saying 'this way to a big waterfall'. I've always liked waterfalls, so when I saw it I thought to take a detour to see it. I followed the path and reached a mountain, at which there was another sign saying 'you have to walk a distance from here'. Back then I thought that it would've been easier to get there as I continued walking. Suddenly, though it was in the middle of the mountains, it opened into a Laputa-like (Castle in the Sky) vast grassy field. I was touched by the views, and as I was wondering where the waterfall was I saw it in the far off distance. The scenery was fantastic and I thought of visiting it again, but later on while searching for it (online) I found that a landslide had occurred. The path got buried and was unrestorable, so it's become an off-limits place. Interviewer: So it's also a mystical place.
Interviewer: Next qualification to get: wine expert. How is it different from a wine sommelier? KY: Actually I was considering getting a wine sommelier certification, but the reason I've been unable to is… For wine expert and wine sommelier certification, the examination and tasting session happen together, but for wine sommelier there's an extra requirement of 3 years of practical experience. Even if I buy wine from shops or drink at restaurants, 3 years of practical experience is kinda… it would be difficult for me to take up another part time job while working as a seiyuu. But well, the examination for wine expert and wine sommelier are basically the same, and I thought it'd be nice to have that certification.
Interviewer: Recommended vacation spot: stopping by Umihotaru (a parking area on an artificial island with a lot of facilities and amenities, and a 360º view of surrounding waters) KY: LOL. I don't really go on trips regularly, so I can't think of any regular vacation spots, but at night when I have to drive somewhere I'd often pass by Umihotaru. I've gone there a lot since I'd been able to drive, so it's a place I'd recommend going to at least once, especially at night. Interviewer: The night view? KY: At night it would be pretty much fully dark so there's nothing to see, and in that stark darkness I'd feel like, 'I gotta keep on living…' Interviewer: LOL. Survival instinct. KY: But as the surrounding sea's fully dark, I guess it might just be scary for a scaredy cat. Anyway if you're travelling to Chiba, you can stop by it on the way. It's a rest spot. You can eat seafood and sushi there, and there are plenty of fun things to do, so do drop by.
Interviewer: Others' impression of you: Undignified KY: I don't remember when exactly, probably about 2 years into my debut, I was called into a place where a nomikai for an unrelated series was happening. The studio had 2 booths, one was for the anime team and one was for an unrelated game team. Just as I was leaving there was some hubbub on scheduling issues. An actor I knew was there and asked me, "We're just about to go drinking. Come join us?" "I'm an outsider though, is it ok?" "I'm coming then" so I went, and during the gathering I chatted with the head of the project. As he was asking, "How old are you now, Kobayashi?" I believe I was 30 then, so I said "I'm 30 years old" and he responded, "30!? You don't carry yourself with dignity, do you?" Even now I'm still in shock at what they said. I wonder if I supposed to be dignified in my 30s? (30代って貫禄出るものなのかな) But anyway at that time I was in a place where I barely knew anyone so I was putting in effort to liven up the conversation, maybe I was too hyper and that's why they said that. From then I kind of toned it down a bit. Still, it was probably a good stimulus.
Interviewer: Last one: Been told you're like a flying squirrel KY: For this one, even I don't really get why. Interviewer: Flying squirrel-like, eh? KY: Well, this happened during my appearance at an event. The makeup artist was there. Sometime during the event we had to come up with 2 names, so I had to think of something. Anyway, while I was thinking of 2 names for myself... When I asked the makeup artist who had been working with us a few times, "What kind of image or impression do you have of me?" They said, "Actually since a long time ago, I thought you're like a flying squirrel..." Interviewer: lol what part of you resemble a flying squirrel KY: "Your face resembles one..." so I immediately went to search for a picture of a flying squirrel and I don't look like one. It was just that person's impression, and in my whole life that was the first time I've been told that I resemble one, so now that I was asked this I thought I should respond with, "It seems like I resemble a flying squirrel." I guess this is the only time I'll ever mention this. Mm-hm. Interviewer: That was quite an impression.
Interviewer: So to wrap things up. KY: Again, I'm not a particularly interesting person. So that will be all for this video. [channel subscriber spiel] Byebye~

I used to while my time playing this during mealtimes in 2011. It was basically an app of just single-button mini arcade games. Imagine Angry Bird but cuter with a wider variety of gameplay. Playing the minigames awarded coins to gacha for characters, and there were 0 ads so it was very F2P friendly. I still remember the music, and it's the only bit of it left in my mind. It's been almost 13 years since it was published according to the official publisher's site and the game's no longer available.

Love and Deepspace
I started playing Love and Deepspace a couple of days ago. While I actually pre-registered, it turned out I didn't have enough space in my phone to install it when it came out. Procrastinated on deleting files to squeeze it in until I saw that there's a crane game feature and well, I love crane games. So thanks to a virtual claw catcher I started playing L&DS.
Out of curiosity, I went to look for the Terms of Service to read up on it, especially for stuff regarding derivative creations (fanworks) as I've been looking up on various companies' for fun. I saw that they have a guidelines page in Japanese/ for Japan, but couldn't find a dedicated page in English. After reading the English ToS for a bit I realised it's basically part of 'UGC Content' (user-generated content… content?)
( ◉ Θ ◉ )
If you can read this, you can read the official ToS for yourself. I just made that segment easier to Ctrl+F (just search for 'UGC Content').
Other than terms commonly found in games, some notable bits I read include them only allowing you to 'display the UGC Content on platforms approved by (Infold)' and them not allowing online broadcasting/livestreaming of game contents without their prior written approval. Whether the terms are strictly enforced is another thing though seeing the variety of sus online content that don't apparently appear to be 'approved'.
For the Japanese ver guidelines (presumed to only apply in Japan/ for the Japanese market), a summary: Fan activities may be allowed only for non-commercial activities, and must adhere to all the listed terms to be considered non-commercial. For publications that don't meet all the terms, it's Infold's prerogative to determine whether it's considered non-commercial.
direct sales only
for online sales, only on a small-scale, such as on a user's own homepage
total qty does not exceed 100
total earnings do not exceed 100,000yen
Also must be creative works only. Stuff like tracing, using official assets don't count as creative and are prohibited.
For video streaming:
only on sites with a license agreement with JASRAC, such as YouTube, Nico Nico Douga, TikTok etc.
no 18+ content, no paywalled sites
video monetisation through on-site features possible, but no paywalled streams or direct/indirect viewer donations
videos may only be of the user's own gameplay
videos just for the purpose of showing ingame stories are prohibited
videos may not contain collaboration content (others' IP)
As usual, this is just an unofficial translation. Refer to official pages as I don't keep this updated.

AFA 2023 Day 3: Day Stage
I was expecting to be slightly late again as it was seriously crowded at about this time for the previous days of AFA. Surprisingly there was barely any queue and I got through the bag check really quick.
The first event of the day stage was Rurouni Kenshin, with Saito Soma and Niwa Masami as featured guests. Before the event started, when the introduction slide with the guest portraits was flashed on the screen, there were a few squealing Saito fangirls in the audience (one of whom was somewhere behind me and was particularly loud, shouting short comments/opinions after Saito spoke throughout the event). I also noticed that most of the audience for this segment were female.
These bits were paraphrased from memory as no photo/video/audio recording was allowed.
The emcees were Yoppi and Reiko. Yoppi came in with a hoarse voice. It seemed like he almost lost his voice and was struggling to speak, but still gave it his all to emcee, saying his body condition was perfect but his throat was 'broken'.
Saito had chilli crab the previous evening and took a stroll in the city.
Saito said that at first it was difficult getting into Kenshin's speaking manner, with Kenshin's habitual 'oro?' and ending his utterances with 'gozaru', an obsolete speaking manner nobody would encounter in modern spoken Japanese. He got used to it eventually.
In some recording sessions, he said 'oro?' many times (I forgot if it was 15 or 50 lol), and he actually added more 'oro' on his own than was scripted. He also said that even though it was the same word, each 'oro' was uttered with slight variances in tone so no two 'oro' were the same.
Saito was asked about the temperature in the recording studio, and he proceeded to bend with his hand really low, nearly touching the ground.
Saito: By the way, what Niwa's wearing is actually my manager's. MC: All of the clothes??? Saito/Niwa: No, no, the jacket/blazer. Niwa: I arrived last evening. Japan's cold right now, but I basically came to Singapore wearing like this (just t-shirt and trousers). MC: That sounds like you'd have stood out at the airport. Niwa: Actually yeah, when I was going through customs in Japan the counter staff looked at me weird.
After Rurouni Kenshin, a majority of the female audience left the hall, and more people came in for the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) stage event. Kind of interesting to observe the change, as Demon Slayer had a clearly more diverse audience.
Next, the guests for Demon Slayer were Kawanishi Kengo (Tokito Muichiro) and one of the producers (I forgot who...)
Yoppi: This isn't your first time in Singapore, right? Kawanishi: I've been here before for a different title, and I think you guys were also the translators.
Both MCs had no recollection of it. (Someone in the Seiyuu Stage Discord server where I shared this with first figured the event he was referring to was probably Gunpla Expo Singapore 2016.)
Kawanishi arrived in Singapore the evening before, had chilli crab and went to the casino with his manager. His manager went in the casino with 10k yen and came out with 6x the amount, but he wasn't as lucky. He said his manager sat on his right at the casino while a random stranger was on his left. Both won money while he was the only one who kept losing.
The emcees then jokingly asked whether his character, Tokito Muichiro would win or lose at the casino. He said that as a hashira, Tokito would probably win, but in reality he as the seiyuu lost.
MC: So where are you planning to go later? Kawanishi: The casino, maybe.
He talked about voicing Tokito Muichiro, about how he recorded without seeing the full animation of the video snippet shown so he had to rely on his imagination when expressing the character's lines.
Kawanishi: As seiyuu, though we were hired to voice major roles, at times we also had to voice other minor roles too. But we actually only get paid for that one major role. Audience: (Aw) (Pay them more) Kawanishi: Even so, I'm happy to get paid just for that one role for the viewers
Kawanishi also mentioned other bits about recording sessions, for example:
During breaks the atmosphere was friendly, but as soon as recording started everyone became serious.
There was a sofa in the studio on which the hashira seiyuus sat in a row, except for him because they were his seniors. He just lurked in a corner nodding along with whatever they said.
Seki would look like he's sleeping, though he wasn't sure if he's really asleep. But as soon as it was Seki's turn to go up to the mic, he'd instantly open his eyes and be immediately ready to deliver his lines, which seemed impressive to Kawanishi.
When it was time for them to take a stage photo with the audience, the emcees joked that since the HQ in Japan was going to see this, that we should show our support and wishes for the seiyuus to get paid more in the photo.
After that was MAPPA's talk featuring 4 series: Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Arc, Bucchigiri?!, Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) The Final Season, Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou (Maboroshi)
The emcees for this segment were Yoppi and Ash. Before it started, the emcees reminded us that recording was not allowed, and also joked (as they had the previous days) that since the talk hadn't started, we could take photos of them instead if we wanted. Yoppi then posed with a V sign while counting down from 5 seconds.
The CEO of MAPPA was supposed to be one of the three featured guests but couldn't attend, so another director stood in for him.
They started with Jujutsu Kaisen, where they showed a seconds-long preview and a few keyframes. They then gave away a Jujutsu Kaisen T-shirt to a random cosplayer from the audience, who kept flexing his biceps when the cameras were on him.
For Bucchigiri?!, they showed the same trailer as the one in the main hall, and talked a bit about the concept of the anime and its 'yankee' characters. As the Japanese word 'yankee' has a different meaning from 'yankee' in English, that became a topic. Ash crouched to demonstrate the image of a Japanese yankee, but then they figured they could just mention Tokyo Revengers, and they ended up talking about Tokyo Revengers for a bit.
For Attack on Titan, other than discussing the series in its 10-year span, they showed a few frames of character closeups.
For Maboroshi, they showed the same trailer as the one in the main hall, and discussed the general themes of the plot. Yoppi then mentioned that he had a role in the film too, as the announcer voice at the start of the trailer. He said that the audience might not have recognised him as he sounded different due to his throat condition then.
They gave away 2 more merch. Posters of Attack on Titan and Maboroshi I think. Many were raising their hands or standing hoping to get picked. A cosplayer in front yelled SASAGEYO! and got one poster, while the other went to another unassuming girl.
I skipped the Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress S3 talk to meet my friend instead so unfortunately I don't have anything from here 囧rz

AFA 2023 Day 2: Day Stage
I had a stomachache so I headed for the event later than intended. Missed like 90% of the Mushoku Tensei S2 event. After that was Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Aalya-san (Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, or Roshidere), with Uesaka Sumire (Sumipe) and SunSunSun as the featured guests. The emcees were Yoppi and Reiko. These bits were paraphrased from memory as no photo/video/audio recording was allowed.
MC: Is this your first time in Singapore? Sumipe: I actually visited once with my family when I was in primary school. I was doing a summer project. MC: What was your project about? Sumipe: My topics were on the merlion and how the streets in Singapore were so clean. MC: That's because if people littered here, they'd get a fine Sumipe: Great city! (in English, repeated a few times) MC: Actually, there are 2 meanings for 'fine', and in this case it means a fine as in 罰金 (I forgot her reply but she realised the double meaning)
Sumipe apparently really likes laksa. She had laksa the evening before the stage event, and also had laksa that morning. She also had some alcohol and went swimming in the hotel pool the previous night. She then said that she was going to drink Singapore Sling later in the evening. And then she had laksa again the next morning.
MC: So what do you want to do/ where do you want to go in Singapore? Sumipe: I wanna go to a theme park here. U... Something Something. MC: U... Something Something? USS? Sumipe: Yes yes. U... Universal... Something Something MC (Reiko): I can't tell if you're not mentioning the full name because you're censoring it, or if you really don't know what it's called. Sumipe: I really don't know the name (´・ω・`)
While Reiko the emcee was speaking later on, Sumipe held up a tapestry of Alya with her mic to it, moving the tapestry as if Alya's mimicking Reiko. Reiko then joked about Alya speaking in English rather than Russian when Sumipe did that.
One of the questions for SunSunSun was whether whether he had Sumipe in mind for the role of Alya when he was writing the novel, to which he said he actually didn't know about Sumipe back then.
After Roshidere was a preview screening of the first episode of Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha (The Unwanted Undead Adventurer).
Lastly was LAM x Kureiji Ollie, with Kureiji Ollie livestreaming on the big screen while LAM was live on stage, which was fun but I don't have many notable memories other than Ollie accidentally saying photos were allowed (100% no recording allowed) and LAM mentioning that he ate Bak Kut Teh.

Fragaria Memories Fanwork Guidelines
This is an unofficial translation of the guidelines for Fragaria Memories fanworks/ fanart/ doujin works.
I thought I saw conflicting translations/interpretations from shared posts about the guidelines that I came across recently, so I decided to translate them myself to (hopefully) avoid misinterpreting the actual guidelines. I do not track the official site for updates so there may be future changes not reflected here.
Last updated: 2023/10/23
୨୧:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::୨୧
Definition of 'fan content activities'
'Fan content activities' refers to works based on Fragaria Memories that either contain creative additions or are wholly new creations. These guidelines exclude copying as-is or activities* that can be treated as such.
*Examples of activities not covered in the guidelines: cropping official character illustrations, filtering/recolouring official art and so on, and making such images public
(T/N: I'll just use 'fanwork' in the main text from here on)
୨୧┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈୨୧
Applicable scope for these guidelines
The moment you upload your fanwork publicly, you're assumed to have agreed to the guidelines fully. Whether a fanwork is considered to have violated the stated guidelines or not is determined at Sanrio's discretion.
Sanrio may update the content of the guidelines anytime without advance notice.

30-Day Anime Challenge: 8-Year Review
I'm re-looking at the 30-Day Anime Challenge that I did in Nov 2014 to see how my choices have progressed or stayed the same since then.
I'm not going to post one per day like before. Gonna lump everything in one post.
Day 1 - Very First Anime
Answer is obviously still the same.
---
Day 2 - Favourite Anime Couple
Still the same answer… I don't really ship characters so no favourite anime couple. I would still pick Chacha and Riiya as it's nostalgic.
---
Day 3 - Favourite Anime OP
Still don't have a single favourite pick, but if I were to pick a few more recent ones:
Hatanaka Tasuku - Dying Wish (Yuukoku no Moriarty/ Moriarty the Patriot) Official HIGE DANdism - Crybaby (Tokyo Revengers)
I still like the ones I picked back then but I haven't got to listen to Trigger bc iTunes was an arse years back.
(Rant ahead) Idk how but I had Apple Music activated. I never used it. At the end of the trial period that I didn't realise was active, iTunes deleted the music I had in my iTunes folder that weren't bought from the iTunes store, which means many of the songs from my physical CD collection were GONE. I haven't had the time or energy to dig the CDs out and rip them again. It would be very time-consuming to do it. A big chunk of my music collection is still missing. I don't use Spotify either so I haven't got to properly enjoy the music from the CDs I have. (Rant end)
---
Day 4 - Anime Characters You Would Like as Best Friend
I considered Free! characters back then, but tbh I don't really have much in common with them. I can't swim at all which is a major point of difference.
I would consider Amane Hikaru (David) from Prince of Tennis as he's funny and I would laugh even at the lamest puns he'd come up with. He's not a character I was into when I was in my early 10s, but if I were to have picked up the series later, I think Amane Hikaru would have become one of my favourites.
---
Day 5 - Anime You're Ashamed You Enjoy
Still the same answer-- why would I be ashamed? If I still had to pick, it would be an ero comedy series that I have only a vague memory of. Not ashamed per se, just that I wouldn't spontaneously bring ero anime up in regular conversation.
---
Day 6 - Anime Character You Would Like to Cosplay As
At the time of writing back then, I had stopped cosplaying for a couple of years. For the same reason that I wrote then (money), it has stayed that way.
If I were to cosplay again, one of my picks would be Juniper Woods (Ace Attorney) because I could wear her outfit as casual wear so it wouldn't be 'wasted' as a rarely worn outfit. But it's not from an anime tho.
So I guess my pick would be Popuko (Pop Team Epic) because my close friend recently asked me to be Popuko to her Pipimi.
---
Day 7 - What Anime Character Would be Your Workout Buddy?
Still similar answers. Can I just cheat and go with Doraemon?
---
Day 8 - What Crossover Would You Like to See?
Still the same answer which I'm copy-pasting here:
"Hoozuki no Reitetsu x Jigoku Sensei Nube
I believe it’ll be hilarious (◉ ౪ ◉)"
(new addition: Chainsaw Man x Fire Punch if we wanna get violent)
---
Day 9 - Your First Anime Crush
Still the same answer. Riiya, Nueno Meisuke, Hiwatari Kai.
---
Day 10 - Anime that Changed You
Still the same answer as back then for the same reason. Otherwise, nothing really life-changing.
---
Day 11 - Do You Like Yaoi/Yuri
Still the same answer. I'm ok with it. I wouldn't seek out yaoi/yuri-themed series the same way I wouldn't seek out any straight couple romance series unless the plot's interesting. I've just never been into the romance genre.
---
Day 12 - Favourite Music in an Anime
Still the same. Hard to pick. Still love my OST collection, but I haven't been able to enjoy them because (refer to the Day 3 rant).
---
Day 13 - Favourite VA/Seiyuu
Mostly the same answers (yes Saiga, yes Hosoya), but goodbye childhood memory of Sakurai Takahiro LOL.
There are many more I enjoy. One of my recent top favourites is Hayashi Yuu, whom I enjoy watching eat spicy food on his YT channel.
---
Day 14 - Anime Character You Hate
Still none really. There might be some off-putting characters but none as off-putting as real life ones.
---
Day 15 - Most Epic/Shocking Scene
There might be newer content that I can't immediately think of, but the most memorable is still the same answer as before: the moment when Shishio stabs through whatshernameiforgot in Rurouni Kenshin, which I watched when I was 8 years old.
---
Day 16 - Favorite Canon Couple
Still the same answer. I don't ship characters together, so I guess I'd still pick Sakura and Syaoran. Maybe add Loid and Yor to the list now too.
---
Day 17 - Who do you ship?
Same answer. I don't ship.
---
Day 18 - Favourite Anime ED
No top pick, but recent ones I enjoyed
Ohara Yuiko - Kaze to Iku Michi (Mushoku Tensei) Stereo Dive Foundation - Omega (Yuukoku no Moriarty / Moriarty the Patriot) TRD - Strangers (Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu/ The Vampire Dies in No Time)
I still like the ones I picked back then tho.
---
Day 19 - Girls, what(’s) your favorite shonen anime?
Still the same answers as before. I don't know orz. I would pick Jigoku Sensei Nube too on top of my previous answers, but I mainly enjoyed the manga rather than the anime when I was a kid. I didn't actually watch the anime til much later.
---
Day 20 - Favourite Tsundere
Still the same answer. I don't like tsundere :c
---
Day 21 - Favourite Harem/Reverse Harem
Same answer: idk.
---
Day 22 - Subs or Dubs?
Still subs, but sometimes on Netflix I'd switch between both for certain scenes to listen to how the same lines are portrayed in Japanese vs English.
---
Day 23 - Favourite Studio Ghibli work
Still no favourite pick at the moment.
---
Day 24 - Share any experiences where you’ve been bullied for liking anime
None. Anime is actually quite popular around me, that I remember at the start of the year long ago when we changed classes (new classmates assigned), the ones sitting to my left, front, and back all watched Prince of Tennis. The one to my right didn't but she liked Winnie the Pooh c: That year on my birthday I found an anonymous little gift box on (or under?) my desk and it was filled with handmade origami stars + laminated Prince of Tennis cards inside. I never figured out whom it was from. The complete opposite of what the question asked for, which I know I'm very fortunate for.
If I remember right, I had a schoolmate who declared his disdain for anime otaku, but some time later I lent him manga from my collection and he became just as much an avid ACG consumer as I am, and I kinda believed he became way more proficient than I was in Japanese back in high school?
---
Day 25 - Anime character you feel you are most like (or wish you were like)
Still kind of like the previous answer, but I would like to add a not-really-anime character. I saw the profiles of Tokimeki Memorial characters one day, and found a character whose profile details matched me a lot. Shirayuki Miho.
Really close for almost everything, completely matched in many aspects too. One of the traits that didn't match was club activity, which I actually did put in as one of my club activity choices irl, but I was in a very competitive school so I was rejected for the club activity, which I think was because I was a super quiet kid back then. I ended up in the same club as what's listed for Ijuin.
On a tangential note, one year when my form teacher was leaving the school she gave each of us a personalised teddy bear with her nickname for each student, and I was Snow White (shirayuki hime) because my skin was really fair compared to the other girls. I envied the girl she gave the 'anime princess' teddy bear to, but again I did try to keep my anime interests a bit low-key then.
---
Day 26 - An anime scene that made you cry
One question where I have a clear change in answer, though not 100% different in vibe from the previous answer. My picks were probably heavily influenced by my personal issues then.
I watched Orange during a tumultuously emotional period. I rewatched certain scenes over and over, never failing to cry each time because I related myself to the atmosphere of the scenes a lot.
During this period, I also watched a bit of Granblue Fantasy the Animation. It's not a plot scene, but the ending theme that played that would make me cry. Haruhi's Sora no Parade. It led me to her other melancholic songs.
---
Day 27 - Recommend one anime that most people may not have seen
If it gets picked up internationally it would have been something that's anticipated to be well-received so I wouldn't say 'most people may not have seen' it, but my recommendation that's not one of the most talked-about ones (from personal circles + amount of fan content) would be
Fumetsu no Anata e / To Your Eternity
It's still a very popular series tho.
---
Day 28 - Do you share your anime interests with anyone?
Same answer as before. A lot of people I'm still in contact with have similar interests. The most notable difference from my answer back then would be that some have changed in their expressions, especially those that have since become parents themselves. Some might not be as fervently into series that they might've enjoyed when they were younger, and my friend agreed it's sometimes hard to keep up with newer things. We becoming ol' fuddy-duddies.
---
Day 29 - Your favourite character
Still Shiraishi Kuranosuke, plus many other oshi.
---
Day 30 - What anime has your heart?
I'm still asking the same question in return-- what's the difference between this and favourite OTL
Prince of Tennis is still one of my most nostalgic choices, but it feels like it's continually being milked, the musical reboot for example, which isn't a bad thing since newer fans get to enjoy the feels + ensures that the fandom is still active, but the sentimentality of it personally feels diminished.
I still like Prince of Tennis, but the series that's the dearest (nostalgia + themes of the story) would I guess be Jigoku Sensei Nube.

Kakihara Tetsuya's 《Iris School of Wizardry: Vinculum Hearts》 Interview
This is an unofficial translation of Kakihara Tetsuya's interview for the game. His role in the game is as the character Clyde King.
What do you think of the character that you voiced? When I first saw the character illustration, I really thought that he was the sparkly princely type, with 'THE Ikemen' feel. Even though he's the student council president, he's actually pretty frank and seems like an everyday guy. This gap between what's expected and what he is makes him interesting and fun to act as.
Do you think you have anything in common with the character you voiced? Hmm…. the first impression would be the voice right? (laugh) Sorry, joking (laugh). He's someone that would walk the talk. I wouldn't feel good if I said I'd do something but then not do it, which is a similar point between us. In my mind, 'I must definitely fulfill the things I've said!' so I will do it. Because if it's an idea that I can think up, it'd have been something I can generally do (laugh). He's also like that, which I think is charming. Also, he has a party-loving side, which is another point of similarity. I love parties. Being hyper and having fun with everyone. You can see this side of me in my 4th mini album Dandigi Dan. The motifs of the PV are friends and parties. Please watch it (laugh).
Other than the character you voiced, are there any other characters you find notable? Actually, the most notable character for me is the protagonist Aria. In the game scenarios, the Clyde route happens after a year of him having been in love with her. I acted with all my heart in it, developing the thoughts of wanting to know more about her. The protagonist is also the player character so everyone can project themselves in her. It's like there's a multitude of Arias, so there's a difference in the way I perceive the feelings for the role, which makes it notable for me. As for others… Kasuya Yuuta's Cyril! I think the cute voice Kasuya portrayed was great. Kasuya's my oshi (laugh).
During the recording, was there any aspect that you found challenging? Though the character's set as an 18-year-old, he has a grown up appearance and is also the seemingly princely student council president, so I thought that I should act as the charismatic type. But when it was time to act, I was told to just act like a natural boy-next-door type, so his expressions had to be human, with realistic behaviour fitting for an 18-year-old guy.
Which scene or dialogue line was memorable? The sad ending. I liked it. As an actor, it was the part that's most worthwhile to act! The happy ending too, but there's a variety of endings prepared so please watch all the routes.
This work is about a magical school with a theatrical aspect. If you were able to use magic, what kind of magic would you use? Only one… what should I pick… If I were to just simply pick, as an actor I want magic that makes all the interesting character roles land on me. I want to cast magic that lets me have fun acting and share this fun with others too!
Please leave a message to the audience! In the past, not having a game console at home would have been a drawback, but now it's an era of convenience where you can easily play dating sims anywhere on your smartphone! This is a work where you can just slowly enjoy the content, fully immerse yourself in it, share with your friends, and eventually it will develop into much more which would feel nice. If it's your first time playing, I'd like you to try the main hero Clyde's route. You might get a grasp of his relationship with the other characters. Even though there are really sad scenes, please go for Clyde's route first! After that, go for Kasuya's (Cyril) route! (laugh) Please go for it and have fun!

Hayashi Yuu LINE Interview (2022)
I'm on a roll this week. I wanted to translate Hosoya's and Hatanaka's interviews but procrastinated for so long that I don't know which ones others have and haven't translated. I ended up translating Hayashi Yuu's interviews instead.
Original article: Line
―― The sequel to Tokyo Revengers has been confirmed, so it's getting pretty exciting, right?
Tokyo Revengers is such a fun topic, and by now I'm pretty certain that many people have come to like it. It makes me really happy that it has become so well-known.
―― On another subject, how has the reception been towards Mikey?
Mikey as a leader is charismatic, coldly calculating when angry, is boyishly cute and so on, and I think it's good that he's portrayed with a variety of expressions. And he's strong too. I think the gap between his boyishness when hanging out with Draken and his friends versus his strength when fighting is an appealing part of him.
When his friends get hurt, Mikey would pitch in the fight. With that having been said, there is also an unstable side to him with moments when his thoughts waver, but with Draken as his anchor Mikey's able to exist as Mikey, I think. I feel like Mikey imperfectly has a cuteness that you can't just let go of.
―― It seems like Mikey's line 「ひよってる奴いる? いねえよな!」 (…anyone scared? See? There's no one!) became viral.
It's awesome, right? I think it got big because of TikTok. People were uploading homage videos of that line, that I guess it even led to little kids knowing Mikey just from his line.
―― Do you personally feel that the impact (of the series) on your surrounding has been huge?
Friends around me have been saying that. Many have been coming up to me too. All of my family have also become fans of Tokyo Revengers. I have twin older sisters, and because of our age gap and that we're of different genders we didn't really keep in touch. But when they came to know that I was in Tokyo Revengers, they watched it themselves and started to really like anime and seiyuu. We met on New Year's Day and talked up a storm about anime (laugh). Feels like it's something that's given us this chance of a family reunion.
―― Thank you for this lovely episode. By the way, are your twin sisters both Mikey fans? (Is Mikey their oshi?)
I think so! (laugh) My sister's daughter, my niece likes Mikey. But she's a fan of the live action Mikey's actor Yoshizawa Ryo, so sadly I don't think it's because of me (laugh).
―― This time, we have recorded 700 voice patterns for this project. Let us know, is there any part that you realise is different from the anime recording sessions?
For the anime ver., I had to match the spoken lines to the animation. It was much easier for this as I could go on my own timing. I did the popular lines from the manga and anime following the vibe faithfully. There are also 'levels of intimacy' in this project, so with that in mind I adjusted my acting for the differing levels of intimacy.
―― The changing 'levels of intimacy' is an interesting feature of LINE CLOVA. Have you personally used LINE CLOVA?
I use it a lot, and I think I've already maxed mine! My first impression was that chibi Mikey seemed so cute. Even though he looked so cute, he was so cold at the start because of the low level of intimacy. The 'he won't look at me!' feel got me addicted, it seemed so amusing so I talked to it a lot.
―― Out of the dialogue lines recorded for this project, is there any line that you think Tokyo Revengers fans and Mikey fans mustn't miss?
I think the ones where Tokyo Revengers character names are mentioned are interesting and definitely not to be missed. The ones when he says 'Draken', the ones where he mentions his impression of Draken and makes a promise to Draken are interesting too. Out of the roughly 700 lines recorded, many follow the events that occured in the original work and anime, and it makes me happy that there's a variety included. 'Omurice', 'the flag's not up!', and so on. There's also a playful exchange where 'Hayashi Yuu', 'people said that we sound similar' are mentioned. The small playful mentions make me really happy.
―― They're lines that would make fans spontaneously smile right!
Googling myself is kind of a hobby of mine (laugh). Seeing what people say when searching Hayashi Yuu on LINE CLOVA, and there are also those who tweet about me. I'm really thankful.
―― LINE CLOVA x Tokyo Revengers has a Valentine's special project where users can say lines to Mikey, and it seems like something that would be well-received by Mikey fans.
(Looking at the dialogue lines) this is great! Has the feel of Mikey as a boyfriend, kind of lover-like, very different from the usual atmosphere of the dialogues with Mikey and it seems fun. Everyone please try it too, I want to hear what you all feel about it.
―― Here's a question about Valentine's Day-- which Tokyo Manjikai member do you think would receive the most chocolate?
There's only one in my mind, Mitsuya! Though he's strong in fighting, he's also kind and takes care of others, and he's also able to sew as the head of the handicraft club. He seems to be someone who has it all. While he's in a biker gang, that he's also in the handicraft club would make him likeably popular, speaking without the bias of a female gaze. As a member of the handicraft club he'd probably get a lot of chocolates.
Even though Mikey has a sweet tooth, talking about whether he can win over a girl… he doesn't seem like someone who'd have a common ground with girls so he's probably not going to receive chocolates (laugh). I think Mikey's fine with just friends, fighting and his bike.
―― How about Takemichi and Draken?
Draken seems like someone who'd be hard to get close to because of his tough front, someone whom girls would keep a distance from. I'd also find it hard to talk to someone with a tattoo on his temple (laugh). Takemichi seems like someone who'd be seen like 'I guess I should give him some', so he'd receive a lot of giri-choco but not really honmei-choco.
―― I couldn't help but nod along with what you said. There is so much depth to the characters of Tokyo Revengers that it allows for such imaginative scenarios.
The characters' abundant qualities were so charmingly depicted it's interesting, really.
―― Out of the 2 sets of Tokyo Revengers anime LINE stamps that are currently being sold, do you have any favourites?
I have 2 faves! I used the Tokyo Revengers new year greeting stamp at the start of the year. As for the ones I usually use, Takemichi's 'Understood' stamp from the second set. I also used the 'Anyone scared?' stamp a lot (laugh).
―― Is there any stamp you frequently use other than the Tokyo Revengers ones?
From the LINE character stamps, I like the James stamps. I use stuff like the ones where he's surprised-crying a lot.
―― Which LINE feature do you often use, be it for work or personal use?
For personal use, the video calling feature. When I'm talking to friends one-on-one, there are many fun effects I can use. LINE is just so ubiquitous in my daily life, the other day when I lost my phone I was basically praying, 'Pleeease just my LINE details please don't disappeaaar!' (laugh).
―― The Valentine-limited talk room effect will be up, so keep a look out for it!
I often saw the Christmas one! I'll be using the Valentine effect too when it's out.
―― Lastly, any message to fans?
Last year, through Tokyo Revengers I was able to expand the range of my activities, and it gave me motivation to continue doing my best this year. The anime sequel has been confirmed, and until it's aired there's still a variety of Tokyo Revengers collaborations going on. There are the LINE stamps, you can also listen to Mikey's voice on LINE CLOVA… even on LINE I can feel the world view of Tokyo Revengers, so I'm really looking forward to the anime sequel. Thank you very much for always being supportive!
―― Thank you for the fun talk today!
