All valid points! I still personally have very mixed feelings on its control and the mental gymnastics you need to go through, but maybe it's just not what I'm expecting from it (For reference, I've never played SRB2K, only base SRB2 and basic kart racers like MK and the like). I do think the tutorial should've focused on the specific moves that are REALLY useful in a given match rather than giving whole sections to basic kart racer mechanics, but I still think it's a pretty okay game! (I was quite fed up with it at the time of posting, heh...) Maybe it's just not right for me.

take: dr. robotnik's ring racers is very good in presentation and such but the gameplay has 90 things you have to keep track of (roulette, rings, etc.), LITERAL cheater AI, and dumb level design. Also I don't think a racing game meant for "racing fanatics" and is not "pick-up-and-play" needed a 45 minute tutorial involving DRIVING, BRAKING AND DRIFTING. You know, the fundamentals of 90% of racing games in its niche? Teach people the techniques unique to your game and at that, stuff you actually use.
