“i heard we’ll guesting along two veteran actors.” which lead her to wondering what the show would be like this time around. “i do watch this show a lot, so i’m invested..but i’ve only been here with the other member’s before. it’s my first time going by myself.” at least she isn’t the only idol, and she tried to causally look around. anything thing that looked like it would be the snacks he made. as much as she was happy to see him, that was the heart of the matter.
Hojun was admittedly a bit arbitrary with his decisions on who he let see his true colors and who he hid himself from. Admittedly, most people fell under the latter category, but his chaotic side sometimes got the better of him and fueled his decision of who to confess to, even if it could potentially explode in his face. He got a rush at the idea of nearly getting caught, though he knew better after so many years. At heart, he was still the same teenage dumbass trying to make it as a trainee but used more to busting lips. Imperial had a relatively clean image which made him have to curb that urge to self-sabotage his career.
Isa was not one of those gifted few that knew what he was really like when the camera was off and he was really pissed off. Instead, all she ever saw was cupcakes and the snacks he paraded her way. Also, the excessive amount of pink which apparently made him seem approachable, but also turned out to be a good color on him. He was glad to be done with the pink hair he had donned a few years ago, unfortunately, he still received many fan gifts in the damned color. Even though he preferred blue and mentioned it in every interview.
He plastered a fake smile on his face, not really in the mood. He was pretty sure Isa would shit her pants if he ever acted like his true self around her. No, better to shelter the girl from what he was really like and just be nice to her. As long as she never gave him a reason not to, which he doubted. He was good at reading people and he was pretty damn sure she was the reincarnation of a labrador retriever.
“You don’t say? I am super excited to be here,” he said, with his best cheery voice. “I hope they are good. I’m sure I’ll love whoever they are though. Don’t worry though, I’ll take care of you. We idols have to stick out for each other, no?”

idmijung‌:
Mijung’s face burned. Why did she always make such a fool of herself? This hadn’t gone the way she planned at all. Hojun surely must’ve thought she was an idiot. He must’ve thought the same that night, after she’d managed to get herself into that situation in the first place. If she’d just walked away when she first began feeling uneasy around that man, neither of them would’ve been in this situation.
Hojun had put up an effort to pretend around the trainees, though Imperial certainly knew what he was like and most of POIZN was fully aware after he debuted. Mostly, there were rumors, but no one ever believed them because who could believe a man known for baking cupcakes could win in a bar fight? Most people still didn’t believe he knew hapkido until he decided to launch into a routine. After all those years of pretending, he had softened a little, but the real him, the asshole him, still popped up.
He was always good at reading people, though that didn’t mean he let it affect his reaction, unless it was to hurt them. He always said his powers of empathy were wasted on him, someone who did not give two shits what people felt and only used his powers to get his way. But he had looked at Mijung and immediately had understood that beneath her stiff exterior, the girl must’ve been terrified. And he was getting a reading from her at the very moment that a part of her was blaming herself.
“It wasn’t your fault. But you’re welcome,” he said. At the very least, she seemed grateful enough to not sell him out to the latest tabloid. He cleared his throat. Fuck, he was uncomfortable. He was not usually so awkward around the newbies, but it seemed to be unavoidable with Mijung who had at least seen a peek of what he was like. “Do you need the practice room?” he asked. He doubted she would say yes to her sunbae, but he needed to change the topic and fast before he actually started blushing. “I was just practicing.” It was no secret he was part of the problem as far as Imperial’s dancing was concerned. Though, really, what did you expect when there was only one dance position in the group? He was busy trying to keep up with Jaeyoon and Jiyoon as it was. He might have had some vocal talent, but it was no secret all everyone was focused on with him was his looks. “Not that they’re that complicated of dance moves.”

idjinsung‌:
as he pulls open the door, letting his eyes fall over the bar, jinsung removes the mask and gives into the smile spreading over his face. it’s easy to spot hojun’s taller frame and broad shoulders among the heavy crowd of older guys. he’s the only one curled up at a nearby table with a notebook spread out on the sticky tabletop. stuffing his mask into his pocket, jinsung cuts through the crowd, clapping hojun on the shoulders as he gets closer. “you don’t stop working even when we’re going to spend time together, do you?” his smile is open, teasing, masks left behind as he sinks into the warm company that is hojun’s presence. “i’ve missed your handsome face. now what are you drinking?“
Despite knowing each other for for years, the words ‘best friend’ had never escaped Hojun’s mouth. In his defense, they had never escaped Jinsung’s mouth either. Hojun had only ever told his mom that he loved her, having never been good at expressing his emotions. Of course, that never stopped them from spending their off time together and expressing their disdain for the world. Hojun placed the notebook to the side; he would never admit that he was shy about his poetry, considering everyone in Imperial was so focused on the production of music. They did not need Hojun as a lyric writer, not that he ever wanted that. He was there for fame and a check. Every time he forgot that, he remembered his mom, finally taken out of poverty.
“Of course you did. Who can live without this face?” He smiled cheekily. “I decided to start off with some soju before we move on to tequila. Maybe some rum. There’s also some awful beer I want to try.” It had been far too long since he had been out for a good, stiff drink, or more importantly, a cheap ass drink. He still preferred it to the fancy stuff they usually fed him at events. Considering he hated most of his group, he needed this time with someone who didn’t make him think of nails on a chalkboard, grating on his every nerve.
He passed a drink to his dongsaeng, not paying attention to formalities. “My mom sent you cookies again. I’m starting to think you are trying to steal her away from me. At this point, she listens more to your music than mine,” he joked. He passed the tin over to Jinsung, though it had no place in the seedy bar. “At least we have no chance of getting recognized here. I highly doubt any of these guys listen to our music.” If they were a fan of anyone, it was probably POIZN. Ugh, POIZN. Nope, the time for saltiness was still a few drinks away, preferably ending in a nice bar fight and some bruised knuckles.

let's get down to business, to defeat the buns
@idmeiying
Hojun and Meiyoung were an unlikely pair; she had barely been on the scene for ten months and they were a part of different companies. Her group was rivals with R!ot, which belonged to his company. He should have taken a side, a clear side. However, Meiyoung somehow managed to comfort him. Besides, once she heard him swear and after that, the friendship had been cemented. She was under no illusions about what he was really like. It kept him grounded, since he knew she would probably never tell anyone since he had all the power. He could act like himself. Well, minus the bar fights. He didn’t doubt she would yank him by the ear if she ever saw him in one.
It had been a bit of a spur of the moment decision to invite her on to to film for Adam’s Eat, Bake, Love. He figured her sweet disposition and his fake sweet disposition would make for a good show. He assembled all the ingredients in the counter. He practically lived in Imperial’s kitchen, especially when filming.for his YouTube channel. Also, whenever he was craving a cupcake. He had a sweet tooth. Good for his image as Honey, but not so much for his reputation as Hojun.
He handed Meiyoung one of his pink aprons. It was one of many gifts from fans. Thankfully, it was not frilly are depicted with animals. He had made the panns as a trainee for being in an animal onesie. It had resulted in a ton of them being sent to him after he finally debuted as part of Imperial. Once, he had done a performance in a onesie. “So, I was thinking we could make muffins. Much tastier than biscuits, but will probably not result in burning things.” His last guest’s souffle had spent days on the kitchen ceiling and he was not ready for that again this soon. “Not that I don’t trust your baking skills, but I do not trust your baking skills. Also, we have to stop filming every time we swear.” It was why he did not normally do these things live.

running man
@idxdaehyun
Hojun was not supposed to harass the younger generation. It was not part of the ‘Adam’ brand, but Daehyun just made it so damn easy. Dae had a habit of being his voice of reason, even though Hojun was older and (supposedly) wiser (though neither of them believed that). Hojun liked spending time with him, though he never understood why, but that did not mean he was not above teasing him and occasionally propositioning him. He was not blind and Daehyun was just so eager to please. Yes, Hojun would look out for him during Running Man. However, he would also let his hand occasionally slip somewhere that would probably make Dae blush, but would not be considered inappropriate.
Albeit, he was surprised when he wandered on to the big parking lot where they were going to have their little competition. He had been expected another B.rite member, Wei. Spotting Daehyun had certainly perked up his mood. He put on his best smile and walked over to Daehyun, quickly enveloping the younger man in a back hug that would probably make a fan scream somewhere if it was caught on tape. “I did not expect to see you here, Daehyun. What happened to the other guy?” Not that it mattered to him. He much preferred this arrangement. “Or did you just want to come see me that badly?”
He should have been in full Honey-mode, but Hojun always found himself relaxing around Daehyun. Usually that resulted in a lecture, but it was still calming. Maybe it was because when Dae was nice, it was not fake like Hojun’s kindness. He really was that sweet of a boy. In most people, that would make him nauseous. In Dae, it made him want to give him a cupcake. “Don’t need to get all flustered. It’s completely natural. I know I am your favorite hyung. But you’re going to make your other members jealous.”
Deciding he had enough of teasing the guy for now, he stopped his back hug and proceeded to pat his back exactly once. “Don’t worry though, we are going to crush them today if I have anything to say about it.” Hojun might have had a reputation as a sweetheart, but he was still competitive. Also, over a decade of hapkido certainly kept him in shape.

Hojun has gone on a fucking journey man. At his root he is still the same conniving, POIZN hating, pink onesie wearing self, but a lot has gone down with his revamp, particularly as he has now been around for the past four years (and I made him Jin’s actual age). But yeah, go check out his plots and like this post so I can message you.  Alternatively, add me on discord: CrystalSnow#8754 or message me on any of my three accounts here.

dance the night away
@idmijung
Hojun had, admittedly, been pretty drunk when it happened, though that really was not rare. He was usually drunk when he managed to fuck up. Eight years of pretending to be something you weren’t did that to a person; when he let loose, he let all of himself the fuck out. Unfortunately, that didn’t mean he was supposed to let it out in front of a member of R!ot. Seeing precious, sweet, princely Adam decking a dude was not exactly on brand. The only consolation he had was that Jade, Mijung, did not exactly have many friends. She would hardly be selling him out, especially when it could wreck the company.
The real shock of that night months ago had been that Hojun was not out for a fight. No, he was just minding his own business when someone got a bit too handsy with the newly debuted member. It was hardly his business if she hooked up with a stranger, but it was his business that she was clearly trying to push him away. Repeatedly. Hojun was an ass, but he was an ass raised by a woman. He had seen men act like that towards his mom far too many times. Before he quite knew what was happening, his fist was in the guy’s face, though he managed to pass it off as him ‘having drank too much’ when the guy’s friends noticed he was out cold. He managed to put on that sweet smile he was known for and left the premises as soon as possible. He kept waiting for panns to pop up, but they never did. He had sighed in relief. Except, he also avoided Jade like the plague.
He needed to get out of the dorms, so he had dragged himself to the 99 Entertainment building to practice some choreography. He would never be a great dancer, but he had certainly shown marked improvement from when he first started out. He was sweating profusely by the time he heard the door open behind him. His heart dropped as he saw her standing there. Jade.

Things that have stayed the same:
Still an only child to a single mother who got grey hair because of him
Was an iljin in school
Complex relationship with religion
HATES POIZN
Still stuck around with 99 (for whatever reason)
Bakes like a boss
Privately refers to his dreaded alter ego as “Honey”
Things that are different:
Is now lead vocal instead of main rap
Was only a trainee for four years instead of five (good for him)
Got a stagename: Adam
Debuted four years ago
Is now 26 instead of 23
Does a little variety, but is mostly focused on CF modeling
Also has a YouTube Channel that is basically him dragging others in to bake and chat with him (it’s essentially eatjin with baking)

idyulhee‌:
“you should show me your skills! cover a rap for me! even if it’s one of my own!” it was then when a lightbulb lit above her head, and in that same breath, she stood up and faced him. “i would honestly die if you performed ‘like a cat’ for me right now! i’ll be your backup vocalist!” she knew it was a stretch, but it would be hilarious if he agreed. “please?! make my night!”
Everyone in the industry seemed to insist that getting him drunk was the best way to celebrate his upcoming debut. Hojun did not necessarily disagree with them, but he admittedly did not need much of an excuse to throw back a few. Prior to his time as a trainee, it was his favorite way to spend a Saturday night, only to end up stumbling in Sunday morning before it was time to go to church. After that, he was actually old enough to drink, but he had to be just as stealthy. 99 Entertainment was way less overworked than his mom and would look for any excuse to cut him, especially when he was such a risky investment in the first place. So, he behaved, for the most part. He had been too busy training the past year too enjoy himself anyways and being approachable was exhausting in itself. But he didn’t have to pretend with Yulhee. She knew what he was like. He had never had any siblings that he knew of, but he Yulhee was as close as he had ever gotten.
Hojun choked on his tequila, not prepared for her request in any capacity. He was fond of their music; Celeste was not as bubblegum pop as a lot of other girl groups, so it made it a lot easier for him to listen to. Also, he appreciated a bit of controversy, considering he would certainly never get a sexy image. Really, he was lucky they were even allowing him in a coed group. Though, he supposed Honey was going to cause much less trouble than Hojun in the group. After all, who would expect a guy best known for working out in a pink onesie to be the source of any controversy? Not that it was a valid concern. He would not hook up with Mijung or Jinkyong no matter the amount of alcohol intake.
“As much as I appreciated the outfits in that music video, I do not think that is quite my sound,” he said. He was not even going to mention the dancing they had done. “Though, it couldn’t be worse than the time I had to sing oppaya on Mickey.” That still haunted his dreams, though he had received a lot of compliments for it. “If you wanna have a prayer, you’re going to have to find me some rum.”
sweet celebration.

idmijung :
After a moment, Mijung opened her eyes to gauge Hojun’s reaction. She had purposely not mentioned the ‘personality’ training they had scheduled for this practice session as well. She had no doubt he’d find a way to worm it in, anyway, and didn’t want to give him any extra ammunition.
A genuine smile spread across Hojun’s face. Oh, this was definitely going to be fun. He could tell Mijung still wanted to deck him since the “oppa” incident, but wouldn’t because they both know that would significantly delay debuting. She still refused to call him that in public, but it didn’t matter. They both knew it had happened and the worst part was, it had clearly worked. They both knew he had helped smooth over some of her rougher edges; she might even learn how to smile in variety now. Though, clearly, it was mostly going to be on him, not on her or Jinkyong. Which was funny, considering no one who knew the real him would consider him charming, unless he was trying to get laid. Sarcastic and aggressive maybe. Charming? Hardly. But he could put on a fake smile to get what he wanted, which was something Mijung was still working towards. But, it was better. He was convinced she could at least pretend to like him and Jinkyong for promotions of Dynamo.
“Alright, before we get to you pretending you don’t want to punch me in the throat, why don’t we work on the rap for the song?” Mijung was surprisingly skilled, considering it was literally not in her job description, but Hojun was still technically the best rapper of the group, even if his lines were not exactly stellar in this first song. Beggars could not be choosers though. He was just glad to be off the bench. He could throw a fit once he broke even on his trainee debt. Not before though. He was already far enough in the fucking hole. “Remember to smile.” He still did not know why this was so hard for her; he had seen her smile before, albeit only when she was dancing. She was a different person there, almost likable. Emphasis on almost. “If you manage to get it perfectly, I won’t make you call me oppa again,” he said, as if it was a worthy incentive. It probably was for her. “I might even let you take a swing at me,” he joked. Then, his face became serious.
“Show me what you have so far, Mijung.”

idjinkyong‌:
“what do you think of our debut song?” now that was a safer topic. something that they could talk about without bringing up the past. she liked it, she wasn’t sure about the others but the chorus had sold her. ( even though she didn’t have a choice in the matter. ) now, she just needed to act the part and that would be a little harder, but she could do it. “i like it, i like the concept that our group has overall, even if i’m a little nervous about how fans will feel about it."
Hojun was a bit conflicted about the image they were going for with the group; he supposed the coed concept would go over better with the island vibes that they had planned out, instead of something saucy like with Celeste or POIZN. Even 99 Entertainment was capable of realizing that was too much. It also aligned with the fake image Hojun had created over the last few years, which made it seem like less of a waste. It also made him less annoyed when he saw the pann posts of him in that onesie, which everyone was eager to send him every time they saw him. He did not know Spanish, did not know anything about the sounds they had, but he was going to debut. At this point, if that meant he had to wear a pink onesie for the rest of his life, he would do it. If he had to sit in the same room with Jinkyong and Mijung for the rest of his career, he would do that too. He’d do anything to make this happen.
“I am just glad it is finally here,” he said. It was one of the most honest things he had ever said to anyone, including her. It was likely not going to happen again in their lifetime. He was not an honest man, though he was a bit more honest around his future groupmates. Besides, they all knew him well enough to know he was not the Honey he pretended to be. “I am not sure how it will be received.” Hojun looked over at the huge audience. He imagined what it would be like once they were there for them, once they were no longer backup anymore. It was so close. So fucking close. If anyone tried to ever take it away from him, he would claw their eyes out himself. “And it’s hardly risque. Though, I guess the fact that we’re a coed group will help fuel the controversy.” Not that he would ever date any of the members; he’d probably claw his own eyes first as well.

idmijung‌:
She took a step back, arms folded, to watch Hojun run through it again. To Mijung’s disappointment, the choreography wasn’t particularly hard. It made sense, though, given certain members, skill levels. They were clearly catering to Hojun’s dancing ability, or lack thereof. If they were going to dumb down the dancing, Mijung’s one talent, she’d be damned if all four of them didn’t look picture perfect. If they did well with the basic stuff, then surely 99 would let them have more complicated choreography later on. Getting Hojun to master the Hola Hola choreo was her ticket to finally being able to do something she really enjoyed on stage.
If there was a god, Hojun was not sure if he was on his good side or not. On the one hand, he was finally going to debut. On the other, it was going to be with two of the people he hated the most. Reluctantly, Hojun had to admit that he would not have gotten so far if he and Mijung had not developed a wary truce. Clearly, both of them had not thought enough about how the two of them now were going to depend on each other for much longer than just a few months. If they were lucky, they would be doing this for years to come. Still, it was a small price to pay for him finally being out limbo. Even if it did mean Mijung was currently trying to crush every part of his soul through the dance practice. Fuck. There was a good chance he would murder her before debuting. Except, he had a feeling if he tried, she would probably rip his face off. She seemed surprisingly scrappy for someone with a happy home life and mostly intact morals. Hojun had his hapkido, but she seemed like a biter.
Hojun did not want to end his debut before it began, so he bit his tongue. He instead started the music again, beginning from the top. It was easier choreography than a lot of stuff he practiced before, but he still needed to get it right. He had not spent the past five years training to ruin it after their first performance. In fact, he knew Mijung would never let him live it down and Jinkyong would probably look at him with pity, even though she was hardly the lead dance either. He went through the movements, flowing a bit more smoothly. He messed up. He swore. “Fuck.” Then he started over again. He was going to make her say oppa sixty times after this section of the practice. Somewhere in between all the rap practice. He still couldn’t believe she had a rap her very first time out. Was it nerves that was making him fuck up? His hand was mildly shaking. “Fuck everything,” he said. He resisted the urge to fling the boombox across the room. “I am going to have fucking nightmares about this song.”

idxdaehyun‌:
“Despacito?! Hyung, my Spanish is even worse than my English!” The younger blanched. If given a guitar he’d probably be able to play a decent instrumental to go with the song and sure, humming along worked well too. He would, however, prefer not to butcher the local language in public. “I mean. I don’t have a better suggestion, I guess? I would’ve said something by the Beatles but Spanish in Chile sounds smarter, of course…” Daehyun sighed again, bracing himself for the unavoidable humiliation. “A taco sounds really good, to be honest. You think we’re close enough to the hotel to just… forget about the bus fare and go for food?” Optimistic thinking, considering they hadn’t even started singing at all.
Hojun thought for a moment. “What about that Aurora song? Me Gustas Tu?” There was no rap in it, but honestly, no one was going to judge him; he doubted anyone in Chile would remember him by the time he debuted. They would just vaguely recall two attractive Korean foreigners singing on the streets, trying to figure out where the hell their hotel was through sign language. “I mean, we can get those vocal skills up. I could give Jinkyong and Mijung a run for their money,” he said. He doubted either of them believed that, but he did not exactly have a better idea. Besides, people had made him sing that song before, so he at least knew the lyrics. As long as he didn’t have to do the dance moves, he would be fine. Most likely. Mijung’s lessons had led to improvement, as had a team of dedicated trainers in 99 Entertainment, but Hojun had some dignity left. He was not about to do the entire dance for Me Gustas Tu, even for bus fare.
He had to admit, he liked Daehyun’s way of thinking. Hojun had made the mistake of not eating before their little excursion; he was no stranger to hunger, but debuting meant there was going to be a little more money in his pocket for him. Why didn’t he deserve to buy himself a taco with his celebratory busking money? “Well, if we lag, we can always take our shirts off,” he said. Hojun shrugged his shoulders. Technically, he had not debuted yet, so it was fair game. Besides, he was going to be in a co-ed group. They were going to allow him to be a little cheeky. Besides, 99 was not around to tell him no. He wiggled his eyebrows at Daehyun. “Alright, first we earn for tacos, then we earn for bus fare.” Hopefully at least one Asian person would appear at the sound of their song and lead them the right way. “Or we could grab a drink first,” he mused. They were already lost as hell. Why not enjoy their little trip? They might never get to come back. “They have to have better tequila than in Korea.”
