MFTs–Zayn, Green Regime backstage, Bliss vs Niven

Are we having an unofficial Superstar Shakeup???

Or are Zayn and Knight just swapping places?

That was an incredibly short opening segment by today's standards and I appreciate it.

It's great that Green, Fyre, and Niven all have equally good comedic timing. They're a great and I hope they stay together and actually get more air time.

This match is a good sign on that front.

Of course literally 75% of the match was during the side-by-side ads.

I love Charlotte and Alexa but I think Alba and Piper deserve a run with the belts.

Melo Don't Miz vs Fraxiom, Stratton–James backstage

I like Gacy and Lumis... looming in the crowd but it's weird that they were only out in the beginning.

This was fine. I don't really like Fraxiom's style so the only part I found intriguing was the ending and what they end up doing with Melo and Miz.

Poor Michin, she deserves better.

I've never seen Kiana James wrestle and this gimmick isn't making me want to see her wrestle.

And I don't want to see Giulia challenge for the world title.

McIntyre promo, Saxton backstage

This is so basic from Drew. Like I'm sure their match will be great. But there isn't anything that interesting about this feud.

Maybe WWE needs a trios title. Because they sure as shit don't need the MFTs in the tag division

Oh I like this tease of Rowan vs Talla. I could maybe get behind an MFT vs Wyatt Sick6 battle.

I want really tag team feuds again!!! Like The Usos vs The New Day feuds with promo battles and shenanigans and not just about the title. (Like I know the usos and new day had the titles during their feuds but they weren't just about the titles it was driven by the characters and the personalities).

Let tag teams do promos in the ring and not just backstage! PLEASE! I beg you.

And not six teams shouting over each other! Just two teams fucking wrecking each other with their words before they wreck them with their fists.

Street Profits vs DIY, MCMG–Melo Don't Miz w/ Aldis

I liked the standing leg drop that Ford did on Gargano!

Has B Fab don't anything this match?

The answer is no.

Oh wait, the answer is yes she got hit by LeRae.

Damn that interrupted suicide dive between Gargano and Ford was very well timed! It really looked like Montez decked Johnny right in the face.

Candice's Huricanrana wasn't great but Ford sold it well.

I liked that match a ton! These two teams do what great tag teams do, their matches are good but also they retain their psychology throughout. You can feel their characters the whole time. You never forget who you're watching.

This makes my point about in-ring tag promos even more timely. Sabin should be giving promos in the ring! He's great at them!. Give him more than 20 seconds to say something.

But besides that point, I'm very excited for this matchup!

Everyone sounded great and I think this benefits both teams in their storylines.

Also I did really like Miz's "all sound, no impact" line lolol. Nice Impact reference but also I take it as a correct dig at how fucking bad Raise Your Fists is as a theme and MCMG's entrance as a whole.

R-Truth–Black backstage

I want Truth to be more involved in this feud! So I REally liked this like bit!

With Truth trying to become more Ron Killings, pairing him with someone as deadly serious as Black really works for me.

I hope they give it the air time it deserves to build the characters out.

Six-Man Tag Match: Loa/Mateo/Sikoa vs Fatu/Uso/Zayn

If Jimmy is going to keep wearing yellow they need to change is TitanTron package.

Aldis should have banned Talla from ringside.

Zayn's top rope tornado DDT on Solo was a nice escape move and I great hot tag to Fatu.

Oh man that nearfall from Solo on Jacob was really good.

I like that Solo is turning into Smackdown's version of Dirty Dom in that he gets the most jeering.

The camera people are getting worse at catching stuff on the announce table side of the ring.

I love that Jimmy is constantly the guy in the storyline desperately trying to get people to be friends.

Melo Don't Miz backstage, Green vs Flair, Stratton/Cargill backstage

I really like Miz's jacket.

And I kind of want this partnership to continue but the Smackdown Tag Team division DOES NOT NEED MORE TEAMS.

Lololol great pay off with Aldis showing up like that.

The pink and light purple are too close for Green and Flair's gear.

I mean Chelsea is definitely going into that cake.

Love that Grayson is oblivious. This is honestly my favorite storyline on Raw.

I get why everyone is pissed about Lesnar coming back and I have no authority to police how people react to this situation.

However, there is an aspect of this that I feel is being overlooked.

No where in the lawsuit (that I've seen, if I'm wrong please let me know) is there proof that Lesnar asked for explicit images of Grant or any other employee. Or that he proposed that access to employees to sleep (assault if they were under duress) with was his dealbreaker to sign a new contract.

There are screenshots of McMahon texting Grant about what Lesnar said to him, but there are no available screenshots of texts directly from Lesnar. They might exist, but we don't know at this moment.

Everything in public records that we know about Lesnar's involvement is secondhand.

I think of it like this: Vince McMahon was one hundred percent sex trafficking employees and assaulting people to varying degrees. But, Lesnar? His role in this situation seems more like a "John" than string puller.

And in the trafficking, sex work, etc. legal realm there has been a concerted effort in recent years to stop going after "Johns" and start going after "Pimps" (not the words I would use but common terms used by lawyers and cops in this discussion).

So do I think Lesnar's a great guy? No. But this is so nuanced, and we can't tar everyone with the same feather.

Again, I understand why people are so upset. I'm not happy he's back either because I do think it was decided as a way to distract from the lawsuits and that's evil in and of itself.

But we need to remember that we don't know his culpability in this situation and out and out calling him a rapist and/or a trafficker is mudding the waters.

Solo Sikoa vs Jacob Fatu

I find the MFT stupid but I do love Solo. So I'm happy to see him come out without anyone else.

Not that they won't get involved later but it's nice to see him alone.

Not sure how I feel about the werewolf mask. It looks better up close than in the wide shot but it could definitely use some work.

Wasn't expecting Solo to keep the overskirt on for the match. It's a little distracting.

Calling it now (right after Jimmy came out to super kick people) that Tama Tonga is returning tonight.

Oh no not more hand restraints. Not right after the zip tie. It weighs the match down.

Wait what??? He broke out that quickly?? That wasn't played well.

Wait what???? That's it???? That was so quick! That was like nothing!! Literally a nothing match.

That was such a let down.

Too much at the top of the show and then such a lull in the middle.

Hopefully this Cena vs Cody match goes better than that one.

SummerSlam Sunday — Part 1: Women's Triple Threat, TLC Tag Match, Women's IC Title Match

Women's Triple Threat Match: Ripley vs Sky vs Naomi

Naomi gets a special entrance!!! Yaaayy!!

And it's her dad??? That's so cute!!!

Naomi by a million!!! Please!!

If Rhea and Iyo were really girlfriends one of them would lay down for the other just to get the belt away from Naomi.

Everyone's gear is top tier! Love Rhea using more purple. Love the blue Iyo went with. And of course my gear queen Naomi is always perfection.

Using Iyo's ponytail to whip her around is excellent heel work.

Oh and biting Rhea's thumb!!

It really is the little things.

Springboard dropkick from Naomi with Rhea delivering a DDT to Iyo was class.

I like Wade bringing up the Funkadactyls because it's really true. Naomi had to prove herself over and over again. And it was really brave of her to leave WWE and forge her own path when she realized she wasn't getting the chances and respect (and the pay) she deserved.

Two allies against one heel is always a weird triple threat set up imo.

Excellent gear from my Detroit babies. Definitely giving SummerSlam vibes. This is super small but I like it a lot when Shelley puts 313 on his tights. Kind of wish Sabin would add a little Detroit to his gear too. I like that he has MCMG on them, that's an improvement.

Oh man Andrade and Fenix were getting good about matching their gear. This is a step backwards.

Also those purple monstrosities better be tear aways on Andrade! Those suck! The white pants are iconic.

The Wyatt Sick6 have a great theme song. I know people talk about the presentation as a whole a lot and it is great but the song by itself deserves a shout out.

Becky has new music???? I mean it makes sense for being a heel but I was not expecting that.

It sounds like a real band too which is nice.

Hahaha Becky does have great reactions in matches. The crow bar cut away was classic.

I do really like Becky's new era of gear. The simplicity is nice. This gear could be more personalized, it's a little off the rack, but in general I like the way she's going.

Wade is very funny tonight tbh.

Tag Match: Jelly Roll/Randy Orton vs Logan Paul/Drew McIntyre

If it wasn't for Randy I would skip this match tbh.

Can't believe the Zayn vs Kross match didn't get a video package but this match does.

Love the plants with the Logan Paul is an outsider printer paper signs.

Too bad The Outsiders were actually cool.

Just let him get hit Randy come on.

I'm disappointed in Jelly Roll's ring gear choices.

He looks like a mechanic.

We get it Jelly Roll has something to prove. Move it along.

I kind of thought Randy would be the face imperil at the start of the match so I guess props to them for not going the obvious route.

If y'all want to know a deepest hope and dream of mine... My absolutely god-tier dream job is to be the co-author/ghost writer for Randy's eventual memoir. Having his come to jesus moment and pulling himself together in his personal life. And now having all these open interview about therapy and learning and growing. Fascinating.

And that's how much nothing is happening in this match. I'm daydreaming about writing Randy Orton's memoir.

SummerSlam Saturday — Part 2: Women's Tag Titles, Kross vs Zayn, Stratton vs Cargill

Women's Tag Title Match: Bliss/Flair vs Perez/Rodriguez

I like the theme song mash-up for Bliss and Flair!

I get that they're both wearing leopard but I wish there was a little more cohesion between Roxanne and Raquel. The leopard itself is different and then Roxanne has the red accents and Raquel doesn't.

It's the little things that matter.

No one does sassy like Alexa does sassy and I love it.

The extended Alexa-in-peril section was a little messy. Not because of any one thing in particular but it was just maybe a little too fast and sloppy.

Actually all of this just feels like they're running on 1.5 speed.

Everyone needs to take a breath and settle in a bit.

Roxanne shouting "you are done" then running the ropes just to run into a right hand from Bliss had more impact than just about anything.

Cole calling the ending an "odd sequence" is so honest.

That was an odd match.

Happy for Bliss and Flair and I want to see more of them but just not the best match.

Karrion Kross vs Sami Zayn

I honestly hope this is a great match.

This storyline isn't doing it for me but that doesn't mean they can't have a banger of a match.

I know people are excited for Sami turning heel and they think this feud is leading to that but I just think there were more interesting ways to get Sami to that place than with Kross.

Kind of wished Zayn would have yeeted the pipe at Scarlet.

Well that was underwhelming.

Jade Cargill vs Tiffany Stratton

This is another match that I'm not super invested in.

I don't know if WWE even knows what they're doing with either of these wrestlers.

Tiffany isn't a face. And Jade isn't ready to be a world champion.

I feel like this is just so in a few years when Jade does make a real run for the world title they can say she was a queen of the ring winner.

Oh man that counter from Tiffany to the power bomb with a hurricanrana was painful to watch.

They don't have great chemistry is what I'll say.

Ok that top rope jaded counter from Tiffany was cool.

Good finishing sequence. But that was so short. And kind of pointless.

Tiffany got something stuck in her elbow. Ow.

Also if anyone wants a rant on the addition of "Crystal Breth" as a presenting sponsor and how corporate sponsors are the death of all sports and are actually extremely harmful for children, let me know because I have one locked and loaded.

I will be suspending all disbelief tonight though and not harping too much on all the outside politicking and bullshit surrounding WWE as a company and just focusing on the storytelling and wrestling.

Tag Match: Uso/Reigns vs Breakker/Reed

Why is it Wade and not Corey? Sad.

"Main Event" Jey Uso, now the king of opening matches.

It's weird to have a Roman match in a stadium when it's still daylight out. His entrance isn't as intimidating without the darkness.

I can't decide if I think Seth's injury is a work. I don't know how this match goes if there's no twist or interference. It just seems so straight forward for a Reigns match without Seth coming back.

Roman's shoes make Bronson Reed look small almost. What size are those?

Lololol good on Reed for "shoe-lafala" that's clutch.

I love Jey's move to board-shorts.

Roman took the brunt of that outside dive from Jey. Yikes.
