Hello!

sorry for super late update! i'm working on my first case study!!! my friend recommend me a book "sprint" by Jake Knapp. it was really helpful, finally i have a big picture to start my case study, and now i'm trying to apply ui/ux design role in jakarta! i'm aiming for internship and freelance first but hey!! wish me luck!!!! I'll give more detail about my first case study later, have a nice day!

How I found UI/UX design

It all started when I graduated in 2020, I was depressed due to covid, anxiety hits me, I'm too scared to apply for a job, imposter syndrome keeps telling me I'm not competent enough, I'm really REALLY lost, I don't even know what should I do next, I don't enjoy my major despite the fact that I just graduated; I like fashion, but I don't like working with 'fashion' people; I don't like working with 'materialistic' vibes kinda thing..?

Anyway, I stumbled upon a UI/UX design course in late 2020, and I literally have no idea what that is, never heard of it before, but my intuition is telling me to apply so I ended up applying for the course. it turns out I really enjoy it! I like the connection between learning human interaction, design and research. It's not about looking good, but about making things work and make sense to people! I learn about what users want, and as UI/UX designers, we strive to maximize usability and user experience.

I'm still far from good but I'll doing my best!

Here's my first UI/UX design!

It was for a bootcamp assignment project, and it was very simple, we had to create a portfolio on Figma. 

Also, keep in mind that I didn't use a layout grid, which is why it's a little wonky(?). 

Sure, the style suits me (soft colors, warm tones), but back then I was more concerned with 'the aesthetic' than the users who evaluated my design (lol)

and oh! I just reread the old bootcamp (yes, we still have access to the materials after two years!) They've changed the task! The bootcamp itself focuses on case studies rather than portfolios. They've most likely changed the curriculum i believe :0 Anyway, without further ado, here's an older design of mine! (I'm thinking about roasting my old design this week lmao)

yes i'm using my old art XD it is super simple isn't?? I can't upload all the other page but I'll put the prototype link here it's really simple, no animation button or responsive grid. i do really REALLY want to rebrand my old design soo much ;-; like back the i really didn't pay much attention on the course and i ended up-- designed a really simple portfolio ;-; if could turn back time, i want to put more effort on this project not gonna lie i was thinking to make a case study next month..? this month, i'll be focusing on basic Figma (yess i feel like i'm missing a lot and i need to catch up a lot of things) but really, i'm glad i took this course even it's been 2 years. i feel like i'm going to enjoy the process.... even it'll takes time and don't know when will i get a job in UI UX design.... but hey! I won't give up! I'll make sure to be more consistent from now on! everyday i'm learning something new!

I relearn about wireframe and mockup yesterday!

This isn't a significant improvement so far, but I'm glad I remember all the basics, especially since it's been a while since I used Figma. not gonna lie, it was very confusing at first, since i'm more familiar with adobe XD but unfortunately you need to subcsirbe. but hey! Figma is great too! i wrote some notes~ looking back at my old UI/ UX design, it was really wonky lmao. i'll post my old design later!

why did I start this blog? I need to see progress from day to day, so I must create one!(also i need to improve my writing skill too lol) I'll show this blog to UI UX designers for feedback in the future. But for the time being, I'll keep this to myself~
