~ㄹ/을 텐데(요)
This grammar point can either be used at the end or the middle of a sentence, however, the meaning conveyed differs slightly.
1. End of a sentence
By placing at the end of a sentence, you indicate that you suppose or expect something to be the case. This is typically done when the speaker is not the acting agent (the subject/topic) of the sentence.
How does it differ from ~ㄹ/을 것 같다?
- You are slightly more sure of something happening.
-  You are indicating a very slight feeling of being worried, annoyed (depending on the context).
2. Middle of a sentence
When used in the middle of a sentence it has the meaning of ‘it is probable that … so/but.’ The first clause (before ~ㄹ/을 텐데) indicates a strong expectation. While the second clause introduces a related or contrary statement. This second clause is often a suggestion, order or question.
Often used as part of greetings.
바쁠 텐데 와 줘서 고마워요.
힘드실 텐데 초대해 주셔서 감사합니다.
~ㄹ/을 테니까 has a very similar meaning (however is usually not used for intention.

This is what a real, qualified OBGYN will tell you about what women feel when they get an abortion
Dr. Willie Parker, who is trained as a gynecologist and OBGYN, is a hero for the pro-choice movement because he’s honest about the undiscussed aspects of getting (or not getting) an abortion. Watch how he gives a consultation.

Daily routine and random stuff
I tried to do some Kalligraphy in a thing the International Office/ Buddy program organized, but I feel like I am not really good at it xD.

And I went to the library the first time. It is a huuuge building even with a small cinema and a fountain in the building! I was not allowed to take pictures but I some really interesting posters outside, I wanted to share with you, even though I mostly don't know what they are about.

Some more daily routine stuff. Did you know, Koreans stand in line for the bus. The campus shuttle bus as well as regular one. And I saw one really cute bus the other day, too!

Something I really enjoy is the International Festival they have on campus these days. They have games, karaoke, live music, a trampoline and international food. Me and Marie-Even (from my Korean Language class) were having a lot of fun today!

I also got invited to a classical music concert. One of my classmates knows one of the students who were performing there and asked me if I would like to join here for it. It was really nice and they looked all very neat and beautiful in their hanbok.

And for my buddy program, we went to the Banpo Bridge at the Han-River and had some good time (except the part where they forgot me =/) and also organized olympic games. I was in the blue team!

I think that is everything for today. Bye =)

Seoul National University
So. I had my first experiences at the SNU and I made some pictures. So I am going to show you that and tell you what being a SNU Exchange Student means for me
~ standing in a 100m line for the bus, not nowing if it is even the right one.
~ having at least 5 new apps on the university and stuff on the phone, which you cannot even set all of them in english
~ having 4 or 5 different cards for dorm, print, id, and transport (there is a rumor we get a card from the language institut as well)
~ if you having insta, snapchat, kakao: a bunch new contacts and followers from all over the world
~ not knowing what is going on and where you’re going on a daily base
~ saying thank you to your shuttle bus driver because it is nice, that he drives you home (almost) for free - also, because everyone else is doing it
~ hating the campus because it is too big and has to many mountains, but also
~ loving the campus, because of the beautiful nature everywhere
~ in class you are supposed to introduce yourself and the professor you are working for … don’t have that yet ㅠㅠㅠ
~ enjoying vegetarian buffet because it is a great resource for vegetables

Wohoo!
Okay I decided to make less posts, but longer ones. Like I will wait one or two weeks, so there is some stuff happening here, which I can tell you about. So here is, what happened to me the last days.
Cooking class!
So, I may not have talked about it yet, but I have a Kakao Group (Korean Messenger, similar to WhatsApp) with all the other exchange students from the SNU. Oh I just checked, I did. So never mind. The point is, someone there asked, who would like to join for cooking class. And yes, of course I was in at the second I saw that. I always wanted to do some kind of Kimchi or general Korean class here, but never got to it. So I went there and it was really nice. First we got a little tour about the traditional market because her first bought a lot of the vegetables there. I also know, where I will by my sesame oil! A really nice place where they make it, we could watch! It smelled so nice. I definitely want to go there again, after I moved into my room.
I have some pictures from cooking class, we made so much food. It was amazing. And really easy, some little tips that I will try to remember for the future and about 2 hours later we could eat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry … I some could not yet turn that picture around. I’ll work on that.
A/S Center!
One morning, when I was really hungry and wanted to go and grab something to eat, I simply stumbled upon the fact, that my door lock was broken. It did not close anymore. Anyone could come inside without me being able to lock the door. So I wrote my Airbnb Host/ Landlord and he came pretty fast. He first tried changing the batteries, but that did not fix the problem. He couldn’t repair it, even with calling at the A/S Center (Help and Repair Center? Something like that? I think in Korea, if something is broken, you always first call A/S). So someone came to repair it. Because I was still starving, I made myself bibimbap during the waiting time. Aside from the mushrooms (?!?! Not sure, but I think it were mushrooms), it was really good.
After my door got fixed (yeah!) I met my SNU mates at a DIY Phone Case Café in Itaewon. This time, I made the new case completely myself! Even all the clue work!
Tumblr media
Then dinner and even Karaoke!! Like, that was pretty difficult for me, because I had to organize it all in Korean, but it was still pretty cool.
We then sat in a Bar/Restaurant and because one of my group is so talkative and easy going, he got us invited to the table of some Koreans. The rest of the group did went inside instead but I and George stayed outside. They gave us Soju, Beer and Something to eat that was called something – Cheese – Egg. So it was basically Noodles in a Chinese sauce (? That’s what I got told) with cheese and an egg on top. Was good. Really nice talking to them. They were artists, I think as in Painters and one of them even went to Germany once.
I also found out, that one of our group even lives pretty much the same area I do, so we choose to share a taxi home at the end of the evening. The taxi driver didn’t like me. He was totally ignoring me and not saying anything. But funny thing! When we stood in front of my Airbnb house, because that was the only address we had, Gustav (Taxi Buddy) was like: “You are living here?” - “Yes?!? Why?! “ – “ Because I live here!”. XD xD So amazing, we have the same Airbnb host and he just lives right above me. Unfortunately he will move to the dorm on Campus Saturday, so we cannot share the taxi on other occasions.
New Apartment!
So today, I met my friend at the real estate agency to pay the rent and everything and get my “keys” for the room. I am writing “keys” because there are no keys. The look downstairs can be opened with a card, like the T-Money Card I have for transportations. And upstairs I have another pin look. So I changed the pin to my own (not telling you that one😉) and talked with the cleaning lady and the landlord. Mostly about how I get internet. But of course everything in Korean. I was pretty proud of myself at the end of the day. Now I am back at the Airbnb, because I did not had time to move my stuff yet and organize tomorrow. First time going to the campus! I am sure tomorrow will be interesting!
Oh and I went to eat lunch with my friend as well. It was a really nice place where you can eat for 2 hours everything. They have a broad variety of Korean food and so far I liked all of it. So that was really nice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that we went to a coin karaoke bar. There you can pretty cheap but in super small rooms, for maximum 2 people, do karaoke. We sang till we couldn’t sing anymore.
And also, today Seoul got really rainy. It was raining the whole day so much, that in the evening I got alarm messages, because of flooding. Guess there is a good point in living up the hill.
Tumblr media
I hope you all are doing well!!
