Whenever people excuse JKR’s conservatism/moderatism as “being progressive for it’s time”, I just think about how the same year that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is published, Tamora Pierce published a very popular novel where 4 teens of various racial, ethnic, socioeconomic backgrounds (of which 1 is gay and another is a convicted criminal) were sent to live with a pair of lesbian mages in order to learn “alternative” forms of magic.

Tamora Pierce also wrote about sex and birth control and consent in an insanely popular juvenile/teenager fantasy series back in the fucking EIGHTIES.

ya ok I had crushes on Thayet and Raoul and Gary and Buri both as feisty teenagers and as mature adults.

also George. The age gap was very squick but like its hard to not love a charismatic rogue. So for the past 12 days in honor of valentines day I’ve been making daily comics based off true stories about making my ex cry during my toxic first relationship (”times my ex made me cry” would be…a much darker comic.) Plz enjoy, it was very cathartic for me to make!

Reasons why I fucking love Deadpool

Reason #1: Let’s get the obvious out of the way, first he’s hilarious

Two: And he’s a total badass!

Three: He’s pansexual

Four: He’s comfortable in a dress

Five: He’s the father of a biracial child

Six: He has a soft spot for kids

Seven: He’s a rape survivor

Eight: Despite his humorous exterior, he suffers from depression and has been suicidal in the past (despite the fact that he can’t really die)

Nine: He had a dark childhood including abusive parents

Ten: His moral flexibility is interesting

Eleven: Most of all, Deadpool is honestly a deeper and more complex character then people give him credit for.  I love this character to death and he’s my absolute favorite for a reason.

we’ve taught girls to romanticise nearly everything a boy does. when i was younger i thought it was cute that boys chased the girl even after she said no. i loved it when after a girl moved away from a kiss, the guy would pull her back and force it on. i thought a guy saying ‘i won’t take a no for an answer’ was passionate and romantic. we’re literally always teaching girls to romanticise abusive traits.
