Thinking about how Neo used Penny to directly parallel Roman. How Penny was the most important of all the people Ruby lost, just like how Neo lost Roman. Of course, Neo tormented Ruby with everyone she had lost. Yet, the only one to get a slow, thoughtful moment, with no violence, nothing but words, was Penny.

To Neo, that was the point that was meant to break Ruby completely. Yes, Oscar is what finished crushing Ruby’s spirit. But having Penny look Ruby in the eye and tell her she meant the world to her, and that Ruby failed her, that’s when you can see Ruby start to lose her fight.

I have to wonder if as Neo had Penny say those cruel words, she thought of Roman.

Sometimes, I look for Nuts and Dolts fics and come across smut

Most of the time, Penny is treated like any other human

But there's at least one fanfic that I remember she wasn't, and Ruby even had to ask Pietro permission to have sex with her because of legal stuff with Atlas
