Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?

Badb is pretty discerning. Even if he truly trusts someone to the depths of his soul, there is no advice that goes unquestioned. The person it comes closest to is Wyll, who morally aligns with them on most things.

They have never ever listened to what Astarion recommends, but they also barely ever talk to him.

Do they like romance in the books they read (or in the book they’re in)? i basically turned this into “what kind of books do they like?”

Badb looooves the romance in their story own story, and basically never reads it. They read folktales, biographies, and non fiction and tend to be snobby about Shadowheart’s choice of book. They love them anyway.

Saying Mahtab likes romance books isn’t totally accurate. She likes smut, and strange smut at that. Sometimes it isn’t even for horny reasons, they just want to see the what people will write, read, and publish. Some of the weirdest shit she just brings to Wyll and Shadowheart and those freaks love it.

Zilvurra likes books of romance, poetry, and/or horror. She adores love poems and songs. She doesn’t necessarily think most romance is good but it is very comforting and reminds her of when she would sneak books she wasn’t supposed to have to read with friends. She’s a very nostalgic person.

I think Gale dog ears his books, he puts whatever he can find as a marker (banana peel? A shoe? Whatever is at hand), he scribbles on the margins, annotates them, drinks tea and eats next to his books and sometimes he stains them. I believe Gale loves books as a source of knowledge, of joy, and when you love reading you read wherever you are, your books become stained, water damaged, there’s sand and grass between the pages, lost bills, unintentional pressed flowers. Books are meant to be loved, to be LIVED, they’re not meant to stand pristine in a bookshelf shrine.

He lends books, he doesn’t care -much- if people don’t give them back because he’s more interested in sharing knowledge. He never forgets a stolen book, though, and he holds grudges if people give the books back without reading them at all.

Maybe he does take care of some books, irreplaceable tomes perhaps, but his fingers itch to annotate, to make the pages his own.

His bookshelves are exceptionally well catalogued, though, he has a whole system. The same can’t be said about his potions and ingredients, as Tara graciously reminds him haha.
