Many of you have been asking why I HATE Stanley
In the episode titled "Francine Frensky, Olympic Rider" it is focused on Francine wishing to take horse riding lessons. The episode starts out with the teacher asking the class to draw out their dreams and Francine wants to ride a horse for the Olympics.
There is a titular character known as Stanley who appears, playing the role as the horse riding instructor. Now, our equestrian fiend here is nothing more than a man chasing after a girl's heart. Francine has a sister, Catherine. She feels an attraction to the instructor Stanley right away. Someone reading this could already tell the direction this is going. Those two are all over each other and Stanley leaves Francine behind. For an instructor, he does an incredibly poor job of helping Francine actually learn how to ride a horse. He never teaches her how to properly mount or dismount a horse.
He leaves her alone, expecting everyone to follow instructions without taking into account that she is a child and needs more support than a teenager would.
When Francine falls, he feels the need to comment how it would be easier if she were taller. OR. He could have been by her side from the beginning and taught her each step first properly mounting the horse rather than putting a child AT RISK OF INJURY! Stanley is lucky there wasn't any adult supervisor around, as he already fails the easiest and most important step of learning something new. You also need to teach any new rider how to show the horse who is in charge, along with how to have them walk and stop.
"How do you make them stop?" -Francine Frensky
Stanley doesn't go over this. He only goes over it when Francine is struggling and says out loud:
"How do you make them go?" -Francine Frensky
Catherine adds onto the now shy nature Francine begins to develop as she's the older sister and appears to be a "show off" since she learned faster. Or rather, Stanley pays more attention to her than THE CHILD.
Here, Stanley isn't bothering to effectively help a kid with basic instructions and is riding away with the sister.
We never go over how a horse could trample you or the risk of going behind a horse. He skips all safety regulations and lets a child fall off of a horse. SCREW YOU STANLEY!
We also need to go over beginner friendly horses. Yes, this is a cartoon. But if this were a real life occurrence, you would have to ensure that a horse is nice and easy and without behavioral issues. Even horses who are normally easygoing can find an issue in the most minimal of actions. Stanley dismisses Francine's horse's nature originally. He claims the horse is normally very friendly and lets Francine try and practice. However, this horse is moody and walks away on his own without any guidance.
Stanley dismisses this. The one time he acts like a typical instructor is when he grabs hold of the reign and walks beside Francine on the horse to gently guide her through the motion and speed. The only actual instruction and guidance he has given thus far.
Later in the episode, Francine loses her passion due to overhearing a conversation between Catherine and Stanley.
Stanley mentions how he could need a pair of extra hands around the stable. If Catherine were to work a few hours a day for them, then she can get free lessons. Stanley, the guy who didn't bother to be a good instructor states that for a beginner, Francine isn't up to Catherine's level. To further add onto this comment, he says he only gives the offer of free lessons to his best students. Bro was flirting with Catherine this entire time, not bothering at all to care for a literal elementary kid.
LOSER BEHAVIOR! Yes, for a sibling relationship it makes sense that Catherine also rubs it in and behaves a bit obnoxious about it.
Poor Francine. she just wanted to achieve her dream but was let down by some bum who can't teach.
Stanley has absolutely no redeeming qualities and should've been fired IMMEDIATELY for his behavior. I hate him and he should never instruct others ever again. Especially if it's a child. He clearly never cared nor attempted to even care. Absolutely a waste of space.
Just to make matters even worse. At the end of the episode, Catherine and Stanley come by to help out Francine again after she swears off riding horses. Stanley proceeds to say that Catherine has a wonderful idea... that CATHERINE teaches Francine how to ride a horse! CATHERINE! THE PERSON HE TAUGHT. IS NOW GOING TO TEACH HER SISTER. BECAUSE HE IS A POOR EXCUSE OF AN INSTRUCTOR! HOW DO YOU FLOP THIS HARDDDDDDDDDDDD HOW DO YOU DO THATTTT STANLEY I WISH NOTHING BUT THE WORST FOR YOU! My personal canon is that he got fired at the end of this episode. Stanley needs to be homeless immediately.
