What's the deal with Seth? I know he basically had to adopt the sunshine persona after Jacob discarded it to become more intense to counter Edward's "you are my life now" energy, but Seth's dad just died.

Leah phased, Harry died, Seth phased and Seth's just happy-go-lucky smiley guy? Is he putting up a front? Is he in denial? Is he trying to keep things normal for the sake of Leah and his mom? Did SM just forget that this 14-year-old boy is mourning his dad?

I mean I love Seth, he's adorable, but . . . is he okay? He's got a lot going on right now.

I certainly understand the discussions and criticism around like, Edward being 104 to Bella's 17, or Consent to Vampire Creation and all that, and have participated in them myself from time to time.

But sometimes it's like, okay, this stuff is Standard for the Genre. It's doing what it says on the tin. Of course Edward's older than Bella, that's the point of a vampire romance. Of course people are turned into vampires against their will and/or to save their lives. Those are like the top two ways you make vampires.

I mean let's look at Bella, who gave the most enthusiastic, informed consent possible in regards to becoming a vampire. And yeah, it worked out great for her! But also . . . it was super boring. It was so easy for her that SM had to come up with a whole new plot about the Volturi and Immortal Children because there was no drama or conflict in Bella being the best best-adjusted vampire ever. There was no, "what have I become," no, "omg I can't believe I just drank blood," no "I'll never see Charlie or Jacob again." No conflict, no tension. Good for her, bad for drama.

If Carlisle propped up the dying Edward/Esme/Rosalie/Emmett and sat across from them at a desk with a lawyer and had them sign consent forms I guess it would be ethical but it wouldn't feel much like a vampire story. You need the "did I save you or did I damn you?" tension. You need the "I love/hate you, vampire dad." Imagine the Cullens all being like Bella, so easy, no consequences, fully informed and given a choice. It would be boring to read.

Sure Edward could have been a vampire who was just recently turned and so really was like 17 or 18 years old but again, it wouldn't really feel like a vampire story without the weight of all those decades of loneliness behind it. He'd have all the angst and ennui of Mike Newton.

The imprinting on children stuff though, yeah that's weird. Fated mates are pretty standard in wolf shifter stuff but in my experience usually not Like That.

esme bakes over the top cupcakes and cakes for any school event that asks for them while the kids are in school. and not just dainty little flowers. she does extreme decorating to the point it embarrasses the kids at how GOOD they look and they taste addictive to the point students question if she's laced them. she'll never answer though and they'll never stop wanting them. and everyone in the school is ALWAYS talking about THEIR MOM being the biggest MILF. every school event coming up, edward has to deal with all these thoughts about how HOT his mom is and how excited they are to see her. she thrives on that chaos.

i think part of the reason that edward and bella's relationship really loses its magic for me post-new moon is because of bella's outright refusal to say anything bad or indifferent about edward. like in eclipse when she's defending him to jacob, she calls him unselfish and that is just WRONG? even edward admits he can be selfish and possessive? like he can have bad traits and bella can still love him that's fine!! your partner is allowed to have flaws! what the hell

I want a copy of the book where her name is changed to Felicity Mallard and they actively mention how it means "lucky duck" but in such seriousness.

And her nickname could be Lissy or Lissa.

Or she can be called Penelope Teela Gosling (Duck duck goose). Penny for short.

Headcannon: Rosalie and Alice are normally really close, they're just in a petty sibling fight at the moment. But because they're vampires, the fight is lasting like 7 years.

Rosalie didn't like an outfit that Alice designed for her and Alice got offended and it spiraled.

Alice aggressively planning things for Bella, dressing Bella, and talking about how Bella is just like a sister to her, is her being passive aggressive towards Rosalie

LOVE IT. 

This makes a lot more sense than Alice being all like “FINALLY A SISTER!” about Bella when Rosalie is right there and has been for 50 years. 

And also, as we have said before, Rosalie is MUCH more inclined to enjoy Alice’s attention and hobbies than shy, mousy Bella is. Rosalie is proud of her beauty and I’m sure has a lot more fun letting Alice design things for her and dress her up to show it off than Bella would. 

It just seems logical to me that they would be close. Alice can’t read Rosalie’s mind to judge her the way Edward does, and Alice doesn’t have any human socialization like, at all, because she has no human memories, so I don’t buy that she’d have some internalize misogyny issues going on with Rosalie’s ‘vanity.’ There’s literally no reason they shouldn’t be friends. 

But of course when you’re immortal a minor sibling spat could last year, and the idea that Alice is fussing over Bella just to annoy Rosalie is delightful and hilarious and honestly makes more sense than the weird “Bella should have nice things but is too Good and Selfless to want or ask for nice things so Alice must exist to provide them for her” thing we have going on.

I saw a meme about the love triangle should have been Carlisle, Charlie, and Billy. Due to being DILFs

But I can't see Charlie or Billy being interested in some 23 yr old. Lets be honest. I mean, sure some adults are interested in very young adults. But after having children and all that drama, I don't see what Charlie or Billy would ever find interesting enough about 23yr old Carlisle who is literally close to Bella's and Jacob's age. (and Carlisle is a vampire).

But mid 20s Aro and Carlisle? ~~

It'd be really cool and kind of funny if Bella was one of those people who "practiced their smile before their wedding" to have the "perfect smile" to match her "perfect husband"...

Only for all the wedding pictures to have her natural and more human smile, and definitely not the one she practiced.

And she absolutely dislikes looking at her wedding pictures, but Edward absolutely adores how perfect and beautiful and adorable his wife looks in them (and always), and they are some of his most favourite and cherished pictures of her.
