452024 misericorde volume one // 2023 // xeecee back to this account for the first time in like a year? but i just played misericorde volume one and it was pretty cool. it made me think a lot about how murder mysteries have this stored ability to draw humanity very easily from their cast; everyone has to be somewhere even without the observational frame of the player. super exciting stuff

352023 deltarune (chapters 1+2) // 2021 // toby fox // windows i've been so burnt out and depressed but this just like cleansed my spirit and reminded me how much i adore this series (franchise?). this is my second time playing through what's currently released of deltarune and i just absolutely love everything about it!! i think undertale and deltarune (deltarune specifically) are some of the only games to get me to actually laugh out loud and furthermore they're so genuine and earnest and emotional too there's just like so so much to love here. beautiful soundtrack too, everything about it is so expressive, evocative and absorbing. going to try to be more active also, =^.^=

2152023 amanchu // 2016 // j.c. staff i've been so inactive lately because i just started my spring semester in college and it's been a lot so oops!! but anyway i really liked this. i've been meaning to watch it for a while now because i love aria they have the same creator, and i'm glad i did. it's just really cute and light-hearted and sweet and pleasant. i'll probably read the manga soon. i love amano so much.

1252023 mushroom girls in love // 2013 // kei murayama very unexpected to me for both better and worse. i thought this was just going to be a cute little slice of life (and i honestly wish it was?), but the plot does try to have this like large conflict. i don't think it's particularly impressive or well written though. the premise + characters are super cute though so it's fine.

1252023 ashita no nadja // 2003 // toei animation over the past week or so i've fallen head over heels for this show!! i absolutely adore nadja and watching her grow and mature over the course of the series was so wonderful and rewarding. the writing + direction is just so tight and thoughtful. and i'm just a big proponent of lighthearted television. like, this whole show just feels so warm and welcoming and pleasant, even when it's at its more "intense". i just love it so much, totally a new favorite. <3

1222023 ecclesiastes: an earth bible commentary // 2020 // marie turner another one of my weirder logs but i just wanted to share this because ecclesiastes is super interesting on its own to me and this was such a fascinating + further enriching read. i'm not particularly familiar with ecocriticism but i found so much here to be so genuinely beautiful and poetic. it's distinctly about listening to the quiet voice of earth in all its intricate and dynamic interactions (granted, specifically in a book of the bible, but still) and that's just such a wonderful and important idea that i would like to live with from now on.

1122023 tsukuyomi: moon phase // 2004 // shaft i was really hoping to like this more than i did considering it's shaft and akiyuki shinbou worked on it, but it's just... fine. it looks and sounds really great but beyond that it's pretty unremarkable. oh well!

1122023 night on the galactic railroad // 1934 // kenji miyazawa so ridiculously imaginative and inspiring. there's this awe and respect for the natural world in this that i just adore. and it's so mystical and spiritual in this wonderful, worldly way. just such a beautiful journey, and so expansive. so philosophical, so emotive. love it so much!!

1112023 dears // 2004 // daume there's very little substance here but also i feel like that's kinda the expectation? it's pleasant enough for what its worth. but the real draw (for me at least) is the character design!! i adore the way all the girls look. and the soundtrack is great. (source)

1112023 coo no sekai // 1999 // hideji oda so deeply moving and imaginative. the worldbuilding is just delectable. every lifeform here feels so realized and revered. every moment in the world feels impactful too; there's this quiet, subtle love for all it encompasses. and there's so much symbolism and thematic depth, notably about maturation, grief, self, etc. that feel so genuine and relatable. and just look at the art!! such a hidden gem. absolutely adored this <3.

1112023 the dog island // 2007 // yuke's // wii + playstation 2 legitimately flawless. just so adorable and sweet, but has a genuine emotional maturity akin to something like ojamajo doremi. i own a "the dog" version of monopoly so further expanding my grasp on the "the dog" universe feels lovely. this is absolutely a new favorite of mine!! woof.
