orchestra aftg au: the origin story of kevins broken hand is the same, but how he handles it is a littleee different. mostly because this is an orchestra au now but 😭

he switches to trumpet!! he has the mobility with his left hand to be able to hold a trumpet, but is still in the process of physical therapy to rehabilitate his left hand for violin playing. he doesn’t quite have his old level of dexterity back, but he’s getting there

orchestra aftg au: the perfect court is also very similar? here, it’s basically riko building his dream ensemble. it’s not meant to be the size of a full orchestra at all, but still a little bigger than your typical chamber group.

orchestra aftg au: so the nest is very similar in this. it’s a set of dorms with adjacent practice and storage facilities. they use the campus’s concert hall for performances, but they still need a place to meet and rehearse outside of that, so they do have a space for that too. edgar allan is a conservatory in this au tho, and that’s the most major change. don’t worry guys!!! the nest is still just as awful 😀

aftg orchestra au: andrew minyard who learned to play the bass in juvie simply because it was the biggest instrument and he through it would be cool

aftg orchestra au: they’re still exceptionally small in this au, but most of them actually double in another instrument to expand the options of available pieces for them. this is incredibly rare for a professional orchestra, but hey, the fox philharmonic is always exceptional

so the lineup goes like this

Kevin: first violin, basic grasp of several other instruments, but prefers trumpet as his second instrument

Neil: first instrument was cello, but plays second violin now

Andrew: principal bass

Renee: bass, doubles as cello for some pieces

Dan: viola, concert master, can play violin but not preferred

Aaron: percussion

Seth: trumpet

Nicky: trombone

Matt: cello

Allison: clarinet
