I just realized that my design of Odysseus is so far from what I actually wanted. I wanted him to look like a king who looked kind yet capable of doing horrendous things… and I ended up with a sad, wet man.

Okay, so, I've been listening to snippets from the wisdom saga because i'm impatient af. In Legendary, Telemachus has pair of lyrics that go "Dreaming of all these monsters that I'll never get to fight / Oh I wish I could so I could bring this world some light

And there's a whole cut song called Your Light which goes further into Polites and Odysseus' friendship and a lot of it is Polites just generally being adorable.

And that gave me a really cute but really sad mental scene. Like, imagine that Odysseus, after the suitors are gone and he's back on his throne and the story ends, he's finally able to spend some time getting to know his son. And over time, the more he learns about Telemachus, the more he reminds him of the best friend he lost.

And maybe, more than ever, he wishes that Polites could have made it home with him, because he and Telemachus would have gotten along so well.

You're walking through the woods, just trying to clear your head. The birds are singing. Leaves are crunching under your feet. It's peaceful. But you feel like you're being watched.

You turn around. Nothing. You try to tell yourself that you're just being paranoid. Irrational. But the feeling doesn't fade. You turn around again. Still nothing. You keep walking, your gait quickened by the sudden need to get the hell away from whatever is hunting you.

The third time you turn around... you see, slowly peaking out from behind a tree... HIM.
