I am making my own character dhampir related to Veolith but I'm struggling to find any lore really past what the game gives us which is very little do you have any links or ideas on how to get more information on the lore?

I'm going to assume you mean Vellioth here, Cazador's sire--you're totally right, there's little to nothing on the previous vampire lord compared to other NPC content in the game, though just enough to tantalize the fandom lol. The first place I go to when I want to reference canon is this reddit post analysis of the Szarr Palace, which has embedded links to basically all the writings found in the palace including ones where he is referenced.

This forgotten realms page also has general information on the Szarr family you might want to look over, though less specific to Vellioth.

Besides that . . . if by chance you haven't gotten into fanon yet, there's soooo many fun headcanons for this individual! Some fanartists draw him with the body of a forever-young child, some make him drow--all seem to have agreed the man has long, curly blond locks, the implications of which are veeery interesting.

That's all I got! Which may not be a ton, but sometimes it's fun to have so many gaps to fill, no? 😏

Its finally done, this took way longer than I expected and there's a bunch of stuff I would do differently, but its done and I am happy with it. But anyway, this sculpt is actually fanart of @imagineitdearies' character Tyrus, from their fic 'Perfect Slaughter' on A03, which I'm a little too invested in. (please mind the tags if you seek it out). Thank you for sharing your work, and I hope you enjoy this piece. Sculpted in ZBrush, rendered in Blender Cycles, tweaked in Photoshop. Also because there is a lot of them, below the cut are some workbench renders of the full sculpt in addition to some renders that I decided against for the final render. Enjoy!

Hello! First time reaching out over here and not of the fic. Would it be possible to get a really basic timeline of events in Perfect Slaughter? I'm having trouble figuring out how long between events and such

That's a very valid problem, haha. I started having trouble in part 2 and made myself a timeline as a result (and added a hair column for @littleskrib more recently 🤣).

Some of the trajectory of this story is downward/towards darkness, simply because it felt impossible for Tyrus to not change over the course of his spawnhood, and disingenuous to not address Astarion's canonical fears and false equivalence that power=safety in all cases.

However, there is one part of this story that has consistently been an upwards/towards goodness trajectory: their sweet, caring love for each other. While protecting that spot of light in their lives has them eyeing dark paths, I have never intended to change their wholesome dynamic to something rooted heavily in power and control. Nor do they really have the option to carve Cazador up, considering the bond can only be severed by just one of them surviving.

To be more frank, spoiler below the cut:

No Ascension! I don't consider that a happy ending, particularly for these two. The dynamic will always be Wholesome Murder Husbands, not Murder Ascended and Murder Consort! 🤣

You know after reading your work and your fanfic, it has gotten me to want to write my own fanfic about Baldur’s gate 3 but I’m struggling on how to write the summary. Do you have any ideas or advice I can take?

Most popular fanfics these days have a good summary formula: throw in a couple of lines from the first chapter as a hook, then on a new line add "Or" and/or a short sentence or two of explanation.

In theory, the excerpt gives potential readers a taste of your writing style and prose skills, plus a way of "showing not telling" them the premise of your story, so it's important to pick a small section that not only shows your writing proficiency but gives a clue or at least intrigue about the story's contents! Then the separate explanation below that helps to establish a bit more of the premise's parameters after the hook. If you're worried about how to phrase it, I'd go look at the sentence structure of a few popular fics' summaries to inspire you!

Now, you could choose one or the other, and some are successful just including either an excerpt or a summary. But as a fic reader, I appreciate having both so there's my opinion for you!

So this is not Perfect Slaughter related but I was wondering, evertime I write or post a fic I feel very anxious about posting it or it's never good which makes me end up hating it.

Did you ever have any similar problems and if so how did you get over it?

I did have issues with this especially when I first started posting fanfic back in Ye Olde Days of fanfiction.net! I've been asked about any tips/advice on finding confidence with writing before, here's my answer (a bit specific to the bg3 fandom, but the majority of it should be universally applicable).

I'll also say that if you wish you were a better writer or are worried about not being good enough to garner interest, the only way to improve is, you guessed it, to write. It's an annoyingly simple answer, but the biggest reason I've personally improved over the years. Plus, as my previous post explains, I make sure I'm focused on having fun and enjoying the story myself!

I absolutely adore your fic, but I'm amazed at how much it has affected me.

I was playing bg3 and got to the Malus Thorm section where he stabbed out the "patients" eyes, Astarion spoke up, saying something like "This man is as crazy as Cazador".

But the scene sent me back to the last winter ball with the minotaur and I felt violently nauseous and had to pause the game for a minute.

Not sure if it's a compliment, but when someone writes so well that you feel like it's a memory and not a story, I applaud you.

I also cannot wait to kill Cazador again with all these extra emotions from Tyrus and Astarion~

This is the second ask in a row that I got about the minotaur scene! 🤣 Sorry I traumatized everyone….

But yes, if anyone is wondering why Cazador’s torture is portrayed as sadistically creative as it is in PS, this bg3 scene definitely influenced me. Arguably one of the most graphic horror scenes in the game…and Astarion surmises Malus is AS crazy as Cazador—not even more crazy! Just meets his level!!

With that perspective, I could arguably have made Cazabitch much worse. But I don’t have the stomach, lol, and this story isn’t really about the torture. Even in the minotaur scene, I try to summarize the brutality rather than describe it blow-for-blow.

I will definitely take it as a compliment that it has such a lasting impact on you, though!! You’re very welcome 🥰

Hi! Sooo I have to say…you are amazing! There has been many times I had to get out of my chair and walk around the room just to get myself under control. I love the fanfic and I just love the character Tyrus. And the way you made cazador??? Man I never wanted to send my dark urge on that Vampire lord sooo badly! It was the minotaur thing…oh my god! I wanted so bad for that to end

Oh man, the minotaur scene was a rough one 💀 some people found it easier than scenes with SA, some found it much worse. Needless to say…it’s all been a no good, very bad time 💔 which is canon-compliant, unfortunately, but I’ve mostly kept Astarion’s physical torture off-screen until this scene, so I totally get why it hits harder.
