The moment when Ethan asks Grace if she trusts him and she says no during the train sequence was actually a mistake. Hayley was genuinely scared in the scene and ended up making a mistake, since her character was supposed to say that she trusted him.

The scene ended up in the film anyway because the director liked how it turned out.
