For over 40 years, Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Sea Otter Program has helped southern sea otters bounce back—turning the tide for these critters! 🦦🌊
💙 Our pioneering surrogacy program pairs stranded pups with otter moms who teach them survival skills before they return to the wild. 🔬 Our scientists study otters’ lives, populations, behaviors, and health to support their recovery.

🏠 We partner with zoos and aquariums to find homes for non-releasable otters and share our expertise to boost the species’ survival.

🌎 More recently, our team has been monitoring the potential environmental effects of the Moss Landing battery fires on Elkhorn Slough, home to over 100 sea otters. By teaming up with conservation groups and agencies, we're collecting vital data to protect sea otters, their invertebrate prey, and the entire ecosystem.
Together, we’re working for a future where sea otters thrive! 🦦💙

“Raw milk is better for you as long as you boil it” so true bestie now imagine if we could like. Super boil it. To really get all the bacteria out. And if we could do that quickly and efficiently. Imagine that.

“I’m just trying to do my goddamn job. They have no idea who they picked a f—king fight with.”
I welcome this kind of energy. But also: this mook doesn’t know history, if Al Capone taught people anything, you do NOT mess with the IRS.
And, they tried to mess with the IRS big time.

I decided to do some practice drawings and paintings during February, and this is how it’s going so far. I also recorded all these sketches for others to observe my process while I write articles exploring ideas about creation, style, and techniques, as well as the artistic struggles I deal with, hoping others might find something useful in my words. Onyx Storm Review (No spoilers):
Rating - 4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (out of 5)
Second half was way better than the first half. And the second half was an improvement from Iron Flame as a whole. (I still think Fourth Wing was the strongest out of the series so far.)
The good parts: Rhiannon, the excerpts at the beginning of chapters, Tairn & Andarna (the usual suspects), Ridoc, and also… Dain (don’t kill me for that one, he was actually a decent member of the ensemble this time around).
The bad parts: Whatever character-introduction-vomiting was happening right at the beginning of the book with people that I don’t think mattered all that much. The modge-podge montage in the middle where they were hopping around and doing things and stuff??? Violet being not okay with breaking some rules, but okay with breaking others for *reasons*? The amount of items (magic or otherwise) that as a reader you need to keep track of. Maybe I’m just tired, but it’s a little difficult with the length of these books to pay attention to such minute details that end up becoming relevant later. And finally, the vague hand-waving-motion around signet powers.
In general, I think this book definitely suffers from being the “Middle Child” of the series, and it definitely feels that way. A lot of build up and not a lot of resolution for a while.
I know it sounds a lot like I’m ragging on it, but it was still super entertaining and kept me along for the ride, so, for entertainment value alone: 4 stars. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out in later books.
