love the "older varian" mention because each time i have the misfortune to come across this type of content, the older design for varian is like him being extremely tall and buff???? while cassandra or rapunzel are extremely tiny with long wavy hair and dresses because they are the Woman :) lmao it's both ridiculous and uncomfortable

anyway! i hate it!! i hate that it's a thing and i hate that it is SUCH a big thing in this fandom too! he's a goddamn kid that none of the adults would ever consider romantically because why the hell would they, and i want nothing to do with people being unable to be normal with kid characters!! also there's something to be said about their special brand of misogyny in the way they push cass / rapunzel in ultra feminine roles (because they are not characters, they're "varian's good wife" and "the mother of his children" at best) but if the simple message of adults shouldn't date teenagers is too difficult to grasp, i'm not sure the concept of respecting women is within their reach

Oh, you like Varian and Tangled?

Yes, the Tangled show caught me by surprise with how good it was in terms of adding depth to the Tangled world and the production quality, including the musical numbers through out it. Varian was a fun character with an interesting arc and beyond Cassandra, I had one other ship idea for him with either Red or Angry once they were older.
