I think it started as one but now they have multiplied. There are at least three of them now.

Once the fandom became aware of the anons we stopped responding and the discourse faded. But as new members joined they were unaware of the anons and fell for their bait causing a return of the anons. Hence this ask and subsequent post.

So just a warning to new members:

IF SOMEONE IS ASKING YOU ABOUT TALL VARIAN IT IS MOST LIKELY A TROLL AND YOU SHOULD NOT INTERACT. IF THEY START HARASSING YOU OR THREATENING YOU THEN TURN OFF ANONYMOUS ASKS OR TURN OFF ASKS ALTOGETHER.

But also note that not everyone who likes tall Varian is a troll and you should treat them with respect and kindness.

One last thing, VAT7K is unique in a way that allows anyone to do anything they want with the characters and stories. If you want Varian to be tall or short that's up to you, just don't be a dick about it.

I'm torn between tall and strong Varian.

Sure, one thing doesn't exclude the other.

But there's a bit more to it.

I genuinely like shows of strength like...

Like Clark lifting a box of dumbells that Lois couldn't even budge and crushing a cabinet when he throws it away. My Adventures with Superman.

Or Tarzan pushing a desk with one hand that Jane couldn't even move. The Legend of Tarzan.

Or Raphael casually carrying all his brothers. Rottmnt.

With those big, brawny characters that's expectable.

BUT.

Seeing small characters do that, that's so much funnier.

Pippi casually lifting her horse with one hand is so cute. Pippi Longstocking.

Or Velma running with the whole gang stacked on her. Scooby Doo.

Or Mikey carrying Raph and Leo on his shoulders like parrots. Rottmnt.

That, is peak comedy, pure gold.

That's why I like fanart of Varian being incredibly strong when he's shorter than anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of Varian growing into a giant, but when it's about him being strong, I think it's much cuter when he's small and nobody expects it.

The whole appeal that makes it really amusing is, at least to me, that nobody who doesn't know him really expects it.

Varian as an 7-foot tall adult lifting a huge rock, sure, why not, but 5-foot adult Varian lifting a horse and everyone doing the Pikachu face, that is much better.

So, I'd say it depends on my mood. Both are nice, so why settle on just one? Do it differently each time instead of one single monotony.

Cassandra had been away for a few years, and the length of her hair reflected that, but she was still completely unprepared for how much Varian had grown from 16 to 25. He was tall, taller than Eugene even, and definitely had grown to be extremely handsome. His hair was longer, his stripe had doubled, and he now had a goatee. She didn't dare to turn around. He was right behind her, but she couldn't look over her shoulder. It was one thing to look at him from a distance, but to have him right behind her was...wow. Her shoulder barely reached his elbow. His abs, almost visible through his dress shirt, were eye-level. She barely reached his broad chest and she could tell that he had some muscles under his long sleeves. She glanced down, realized that there was a considerable bulge in his pants and briefly considered its size when it was erect, her cheeks going pink. He was hot, very hot, she had never seen anyone so hot. She could understand why all those girls and guys were fawning around him. She was tempted to reach out and touch his abs, but she stayed rooted to the spot, frozen in place, her mind running over the last conversation they had, nine years ago. Maybe...it was time to bury old hatchets and...reconsider old possibilities again? -- I spent way too much time and effort on this and I might do more from this because I kind of watch to draw them dancing but here's Tall Varian with Cassandra. I spent too much time drawing his abs before realizing I needed to cover them, lmao, so I had to mention them.

I think theres only a few characters that match or surpass him in height in the show. Quirin and Edmund, and one’s a king and the other is seen constantly bowing in his presence and obviously Varian is doing neither.
