Patriarchy meets Corruption! And before we forget the rapists of Nirbhaya still lives , still roams free. The rapists of Kathua roams free. The Muzzafarpur Balika Kendra survivors and victims who died still await justice with no names till now as to who were the customers. Two more women found raped and burnt in Buxar and Samastipur in Bihar. And we lost the Unnao rape survivor.The list is endless and the country remains the most dangerous for women in the whole world . I don’t know what are we celebrating! Raping & Killing the two most barbaric of crimes committed by humans on humans from ages. Many are arguing that the four rapists who were killed by Hyderabad Police was the right thing to do . But this killing is a temporary measure taken in the backdrop of the huge uproar of the public forcing the netas and the police to take some action there by bailing the inaction of the police and government in the eyes of the common people. But what after that. This is not the last rape , not the last woman to be burnt to death and as I write this the rape survivor of Unnao died due to her 90 percent burns. The complete apathy of the system for its citizens especially women is hapless. This needs to be addressed. Killing a few rapist will not solve the problem of the general mindset of Indian men towards women. Our laws are not good enough and definitely not being implemented . There is a general fearlessness in the people of the country as they know that they can get away with anything. Patriarchy needs to be addressed.The low socio economic status of women needs to be addressed. All the rape survivors should be given a job and or some financial assistance so that they can have a life after all . More women should be taken into the police at least 50 percent and there needs to be more and effective patrolling by the police. Lastly we need to raise better sons in our houses and stop discriminating against the girl child right at home .
