I think you're taking my words at face value and you're talking about his suicide plan only? (Ok, even then he actually displayed the behavior of someone who wanted to be stopped, when he said to Hellhammer (who knew he was home alone) that he bought a big knife).

I was once reading about suicides from Golden gate bridge, and there were survivors talking about it, saying things like "I got to the bridge and I said to myself that I won't do it if I see just one person smiling back at me".

That's literally searching for the reason not to kill yourself. Similar, but not the same. However, Pelle was always known by his friends for his black humor, morbid puns, and the fact that he didn't shy away from wearing his depression on his sleeve. He also apparently made comments about killing himself for months before he actually did.

If you don't want someone to stop you, you generally don't do these things. You just go through with your plan without giving any hints what's about to happen.

There's also something interesting I noticed and that is: Pelle also always allowed others to take care of him after he self harmed, bandaging his wounds and fussing around him, and that points to some sort of deep and conflicted need to be loved. It's as if it was the only moment of vulnerability when he could justify seeking and receiving care.

There's a lot to unpack here, honestly, but I am afraid I am straying away from the main point. So, to return to it one more time: Like I mentioned in the past, I got information through the grapevine that Pelle had multiple suicide attempts that were prevented by Øystein, which is not hard to believe, because that's exactly what happened on that New Year as well.

That's not behavior of someone who doesn't cry for help. All of this seems like the behavior of someone who was crying for help for years.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: it’s more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It’s performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. As a former anorexic, my heart aches knowing that Pelle was going through all of that. Not just the mental but the physical toll, he was likely in pain all the time because of it. People don’t talk about how eating disorders truly effect people physically enough, or that men can get them too.

Anorexia is seen as a female only disorder and Pelle is such a good example, actually. Go and try finding ANYONE from the scene ever saying words "eating disorder" or "anorexia" in relation to Pelle. You won't find shit. It's always just "oh he rarely ate" and "he was so skinny he looked sick" but no one names it - says what it really was.

Even here on tumblr and on ig page, I often get asked about his eating habits as if it was something he was doing on purpose - for the sake of cultivating a certain image. That's what he was saying to people when faced with the uncomfortable questions about food.
