The morality that Some Desperate Glory touches upon is genuinely so mind boggling. Is it ok to kill 14 billion people over and over again in a sub reality if it’s the same 14 billion? Do their deaths matter if it’s a universe that is created and ends for the soul reason to run doomsday? Do they exist in the same way that the other characters exist? When Mags beat doomsday, did earth survive past when the simulation ended?

If you kill the same person over and over again have you killed once or many times?

I will never not be mad because the cover of Some Desperate Glory has a reasonably fit girl on the cover but Kyr is supposed to be fucking jacked. And because she never really got enough water, her muscles are probably super defined so she’s really just walking around having 47 identity crises looking like

I just love that Kyr is insane and mean and rude and narrow minded and unlikable and everyone around her is like girl. Chill tf out. And then she meets another dude who’s mean and rude and insane and she hates him but he’s also the only that matched her 'humans first, fuck these aliens' energy and within a week they’d killed the universe

Kyr and Avi went freak for freak and 20 trillion people died

I really do love that Kyr has absolutely no room for middle ground when it comes to her decisions. She will either live by the strict code of conduct drilled into her by her military upbringing or she will throw it all to hell and commit the highest form of treason. No inbetween and no one can figure out which voice she’ll listen to at any given time, even at the height of her brain washing

I spent the first 50% of the book cheering at every small advancement Kyr made from not being a bigot and wanting her to be a nicer person to the people around her, but the second we gained access to an alternate timeline where she is nicer to the people around her, I immediately got so bored and annoyed

Kyr hated Val and lowk I did too. WHO do u think you are? A well adjusted, kind individual with noble ambitions? In my fucked up parallel universe traveling space opera? Gtfo

I thought Avi would be the classic sassy PC counterpart to Kyr, like the gay best friend ‘I’m in’ hacker guy who doesn't get any character development. You know the type, the nothing sassy side character but oh my fucking god. Avi is… so much of a guy. His actions in every timeline legit had me

Sherlock Holmes has so many adaptations that it stops enticing me but then every now and then someone comes along and absolutely blows it out of the water

Who's mind goes ok so Sherlock is an autistic biological quantum computer demi god but also a disgusting insane woman and her Watson is a bisexual chemically enhanced anthropomorphic Command+F function and they solve mysteries in a bio-steampunk esque world where humanity is constantly under threat from kaijus and has constructed an attack on titan type of three walled system
