THIS
"Ghosts are good" "Ghosts are bad"
Could you shut up. Ghosts are shadows, unable to change. They wander through the world looking for what humanity is left (in them). Sometimes they want to change their clothes or learn something new but realise that they can't because they're forever caged in the plane of existence they died in. When they're bored they look out for their descendes and have a sorrowful smile because they discover their own eyes in a child, who they never met. They can't go, because they can't let go. Ghosts are shadows, unable to change, so they can only be a glimpse of who they used to be.

Was it casual when we watched the stars together?
Was it casual when I nearly kissed you?
Was it casual when we you asked me to marry you?

WWI media these days is like 'Everyone is British or sometimes German, nevermind that it's a WORLD WAR happening on another country's soil. All battlefields are muddy like Passchendaele in 1917, even though it was relatively rare.'

i think all quiet on the western front and the lord of the rings are in direct conversation with each other, as in theyre the retelling of the same war with one saying here’s what happened, we all died, and it did not matter at all and another going hush little boy, of course we won, of course your friends came back

one of the things about WWI that makes me kind of crazy is the numerous pictures of soldiers chilling in shell craters, way behind the front lines. they have been conditioned to find comfort and safety in a hole

‘knee deep in the passenger seat’ except we’re in a 1915 vauxhall staff car and we’re two officers of the british army who’ve been hopelessly in love with each other for years but we both think that it’s unrequited and that what we have going on is just to pass the time and means nothing
