Hi! I am desperately looking for a fic I read around NYE, could you help? The plot is basically Remus keeps showing up at Sirius’ flat and acting really grouchy cause he’s too embarrassed to admit he’s homeless. Kind of a light Sex & Dying in High Society vibe, they drink a lot & i think get into a proper fight? Sounds vague but was v good! It’s ~30k, I’m 90% sure I read it on the rs dreamwith (top picture + yellow background) but can’t find it anywhere :( Love you & everything on this blog!!
I feel like it’s gotta be this one:
We Build Our Own Unfolding by imochan
A welcome overstayed, a funeral at the farmhouse, a diary, a welcome overstayed (again), and a long walk over the hills.

I’m 1000% sure this is the AMAZING classic Gasp, by @rageprufrock
hi! you have the patience of a saint thank you so much for taking time to search up all these fics. there’s a fic i can’t find where i remember remus and sirius are sitting on the floor in their apartment and they spill a beer and i think have sex?? there’s some annoying comments about “being the man” but i remember it being very sweet. sorry this is so vague thank you so much!!
Hmm I’m not too sure. Your description kind of reminded me of Size Matters by  REwrites, but it doesn’t fit exactly. If anyone else knows a fic that fits better, let me know!

i have read an utterly hideous amount of r/s fic, much of which is staggeringly good and has shaped my relationship to fic, writing and literature in general. bless this fandom. here is a top 10 (in no particular order) for @wolfstarwarehouse. i only wish the list could have been longer !
to fill a gap by berhanes (sqvalors): a non-linear lie low at lupin’s story in prose that is frequently just eviscerating; i particularly love the interaction between remus and lyall.
bedlam boys by traveller: viscerally poetic writing; a brutal look into what azkaban did to sirius’ mind with some tender moments that cut deep.
recto verso by zambla: a passionate and important story that deals with one of the most vital chapters of british history; when i first read this it changed my perceptions of what fic can do.
time is a fine invention by bluepeony: one of the first r/s fics i read and loved; funny, a little sad and very true to life, with possibly my favourite ending to a fic ever.
a fearsome business by canis m.: a sweet but moving story about readjusting to one another, with minor ocs so well drawn that i still often find myself thinking of them.
the woods by fluorescentgrey: dark, powerful and beautiful; astonishing prose that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading.
amateur cartography by montparnasse: fantastically gothic, beautiful characterisations and an absolutely gutting look into the first war (dorcas in this fic finished me).
the active reader by veeagainst: clever, funny and warm, forever a favourite for a rainy day.
advent by coyotesuspect: a festive fic with hands down my favourite ever mwpp-era characterisations; lily is wonderful in this, too.
oh, night, and divine (the selfish wish remix) by imochan: a darker seasonal read for abject heartbreak; if i ever recover from this fic i’ll let you know.

I absolutely love this Top Ten Wolfstar suggestion for @wolfstarwarehouse  I have an entire library of suggestions, so it has been a nightmare whittling them down. So, in no particular order…
Common Woodbrown - Imochan
After Sirius’s incarceration, Remus starts to realise things don’t quite add up. A beautiful and heartbreaking story that chronicles Remus’s character ark and  personal growth. Excellent writer; hard to pick one story.
Highland Fling - Picascribit
Young student Sirius meets Remus while trekking through Scotland. What follows is a sexy and charismatic courtship. This follows Sirius finding out more about himself with the GORGEOUS backdrop of Scotland. Check out more of her work, it’s ALL good.
Our Private Universe - Busaikko
Watch Remus, Peter said, look for evidence; but what Sirius found was something different. Christmas 1979. Tensions and suspicions are running high as the war reaches it’s peak. Sirius agrees to spy on Remus, but ends up with more than he bargained for.  A heartbreaking, bittersweet story that hits me right in the feels.
All the Young Dudes - MsKingBean89
A LONG slow burn fic chronicling Remus’s journey from Hogwarts onwards. Remus’s grows up in a rough children’s home and as a result is very rough himself. This is ongoing and detailed and fleshes out new and original characters. I am hooked.
These Four Kings - Escribo
Another insanely talented author, this series follows the Marauders through Hogwarts. The fic is slow burn and sweet and illustrated by the most beautiful artwork. A must read for every Wolfstar shipper.
Amateur Cartography - Montparnasse
This author can do no wrong in my eyes. Everything is elegantly poignant and so beautiful. This is a firm favourite of Remus and Sirius being pulled together again and again throughout the first war. The universe itself seems to be at play to keep the two together.
You Can’t Have It All (But There Is This) - Escribo
A sweet, fun and sexy romp through Hogwarts by Messrs Padfoot and Moony  as their last hours of school draws near. Sweet and SO hot. Ugh.
The Pilgrimage - RosemaryandRue
Following the death of his friends and the imprisonment of his lover, Remus heads off solo to trek the countryside. Seeking to make sense of the madness and trying to fill the sudden, aching void in his life he undertakes a pilgrimage of his own. Haunting, lonely, retrospective of Remus during his lost years.
Care and Feeding - canis_m
Another ridiculously talented writer (honourable mention to Waiting for Ganymede). School is ending and with things uncertain Remus and Sirius discuss plans for their future. Sweet and very lovely; this author has the Midas touch, everything is gold.
The Problem With Eggnog, Uncommon Thoughts and Sharing a Bed With Sirius Black - Xylodemon
Short, sweet and sexy. Remus wakes up in a compromising position. I’ve probably read this get together fic a hundred times. Spot on characterisations and funny as fudge.

Wolfstar Top Ten Challenge!
As I was revamping my rec list page recently, I added some top ten lists from @wolfstarhq and @jencala (here and here). I’m one of those people that loves top ten lists, and I thought it would be fun to not only do one myself, but see what would be on everyone else’s top ten lists!
So I present to you the Wolfstar Top Ten Challenge! Just create a post with your top ten favorite wolfstar fics! They don’t have to be in order, you can leave comments or just list them, it’s all up to you. :D I only ask that you include all of the authors’ names so they can be celebrated too!
Either @wolfstarwarehouse in the post or tag it with #wolfstartopten and I’ll reblog it! Then I can hopefully create a masterlist with links to everyone’s top ten lists. :)
I’ll be the first to start and give you my top ten all-time favorite wolfstar fics:
1. A Cure For Nightmares by @picascribit: A boarding school!au that perfectly mixes angst and romance. Heavier subjects are handled so well and the whole story is wonderfully written, with characters that I love intensely. It’s my all-time favorite; it gives me all the feels every time I read it (and I’ve read it a whole lot).
2. Sex and Dying in High Society by fluorescentgrey/@yeats-infection: A first war story full of music, angst, heartbreak, and gorgeous writing. A masterpiece that I will never get over.
3. Work With This by @veeagainsttheday: During the first war, Sirius starts to fear for his future and it pushes him to finally ask Remus out on a date. I love this fic so much I can’t even describe it. It warms my heart and fills me with hope.
4. Long Live Living (If Living Can Be This) by excaliburned: A non-magic!au set during their last summer before university while they work at Warwick Castle. One of the best AU’s out there. Funny and adorable and full of oblivious boys being disgustingly cute and in love.
5. Being An Historical Record of Events Surrounding the Unfortunate Truth-Or-Dare Game of February the Twenty-Second, and Consequences Thereof by sodomquake: A veritaserum filled game of truth or dare forces Remus to admit his feelings, and awkwardness and kissing ensues. Now this is where I can trace back my love of truth or dare and potions fics. It’s so cute and I love it just as much every time I reread it.
6. Let Nothing You Dismay by @montpahrnah: During the Christmas season of 1979, Sirius finds himself questioning his sexuality, his feelings, and just how much you can pine for someone before you have to do something about it. Beautiful writing combined with the sweetest story; an incredibly lovely fic.
7. In the Bed by @bigblckdog: The post-prank fic to end all post-prank fics, in my opinion. Incredibly creative and gorgeous use of paintings and emotion. It’s everything I love in one masterful fic.
8. Three Card Monte by @enjambament: An Ocean’s Eleven-inspired heist!AU, and it’s as awesome as you think it would be. It has amazing characterization and a full backstory; it’s dazzling and hugely entertaining.
9. We Build Our Own Unfolding by @imochan: After Hogwarts, Sirius finds his flat constantly filled with Moony. This whole fic is a kind of slow burn towards realization. A little sad, a lot hopeful, and beautifully told.
10. Now by youcantseeus: When the second war is over, Sirius and Remus and Teddy are still alive, but Remus has a hard time coping with life. This is another one I’ve reread too many times to count. It’s that mix of heavy feelings that can make you tear up and gentle, comforting, domestic fluff.
That was incredibly difficult, and they aren’t in any sort of order, but there are my top ten. I can’t wait to see what everyone else includes on their lists!

here at long last is the long awaited part three of in the garden, aka “the grunge story.” i’ve been trying to write this for about a year. thank you all for bearing with me. i must particularly thank @montpahrnah @ababelofprose @imochan @eralkfang @piovascosimo, richard brautigan, and echo and the bunnymen’s heaven up here
i must give you just about every single trigger warning in the book before you open this (death, suicide, drug addiction, grief, etc) and as ever the omnipresent warning that if you are looking to escape reality my fic is probably never for you, but especially not this one
below the cut is some music you might want to listen to while you read. hopefully more coming in less than five months this time…
Keep reading

Could you please suggest some eloquently poised wolfstar fictions on archiveofourown? I just read "June, and Other Natural Disasters" by montparnasse and I loved the way it has been written. Thank you for your assistance and your blog has brightened my days beyond count. Thanks again.
I’ve never seen it phrased “eloquently poised,” but I think I know what you mean. I’d rather give you some good author recs, actually. If you liked montparnasse’s style, I think you’d enjoy the way these authors write, too. I’ll link you to some of my favorites to give you a place to start, but I’d confidently recommend anything these authors have written.
montparnasse : I’d also try Let Nothing You Dismay and Amateur Cartography.
fluorescentgrey : Sex and Dying in High Society and Desperado.
imochan : We Build Our Own Unfolding and Longsdune.
zambla : Recto Verso and Or, a Portrait of the Mathematician as a Young Man.
berhanes (theyshotmyclown) : A Heart Closing and This Word Lies At The Bottom Of A Lake.

Omg thank u sweet buddy 💋 xoxo
Have you seen Fantastic Beasts? After reading your fics, I can't stop imagining how you would write Credence - you have such a sense for how environment affects character, and he strikes me as a particularly intense example of that
i have seen fantastic beasts! i enjoyed it but i didn’t feel the call to write fic about it. thinking about credence though i would probably do a very experimental crazy thing in second person with lots of blackouts and furtive masturbation (which actually this sounds like it could be kind of good).
i also think that @imochan‘s fic on the subject is the Best as usual and i could never dream of surpassing it. imo also writes environment into character very well and if you haven’t read her fics you may like them, especially the blind boy which is a true Work of Art.

hey shout out to your characterization of walburga black in common woodbrown btw xx
Whattttt this message is amazing and so unexpected!!!
Thank you so much anon—the section where I was writing remus + the black family “interviews” was some of the most fun I’ve had writing anything in the last 10+ years, and I’m so thrilled you enjoyed Walburga’s scene especially!

Are you going to finish Such is as common to man?
such as is common to man, as a sort of stand-alone piece, is finished! But as for the planned two other parts of the Trinity series: the answer is maybe! likely! but no promises on timeframe!

Thank you!!
Gredence Fic Rec: such as is common to man
Title: such as is common to man Author: @imochan Pairing(s): Credence Barebone/Percival Graves Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 7,458 Content/Warnings: intercrural sex Summary: Arriving in London, Credence finds a familiar face.
Wow, this fic is just fantastic! The scenario builds fantastically on the end of the movie and the characterizations are wonderfully believable. I love the connection between the real Graves and Credence, and the development of their relationship and the mild fucked-up-ness of it all is just wonderfully conveyed.

@revolutionaryjo contacted me a while back about doing a podfic for Common Woodbrown, and after shrieking wildly for a solid fifteen minutes, I gave her my whole-hearted blessing. The finished pod is just now up on ao3!
Thank you to Jo, and to all fans of this somewhat sad and mostly hopeful little story about growing and learning and making peace. It means a ton that it’s still circulating around Remus/Sirius fandom after all these years. I can’t wait to settle in and listen to this!

new Star Wars fic up on my AO3! (with apologies for crossposting between blogs) xo
classic kylux, hux-womp, sad frottage & spooky space mysteries
Ren is gone. Hux is fine. The past can’t hurt you.
(All of these things are lies.)

Here it finally is!  Part two of the Tidal Force Series, sequel to Wracklines. Writing this fic was not exactly a labor of love, much more similar to a labor of, uh, pain—it took me close to seven months, and it’s been the first thing of real substance I’ve managed to finish for Kylux fandom since the end of last year. I’m so relieved and thrilled that it’s finally done, and I really hope y’all enjoy it.
That being said, despite my best efforts, this fic really is more of a sequel than a stand-alone. If you haven’t read Wracklines recently, I highly recommend that you do so before diving into this one (But Wracklines is very short! It’s a little weird! It sets the stage!)
Nobody likes a huge disclaimer on their sad smut, so in closing I’ll just send a huge thank-you shout-out to @reserve @eralkfang @nacho-witch @xan-drei @yeats-infection, and all y’all buddies on tumblr and tweetie (anon and otherwise, irl and online) that watched me suffer through writing this and helped me believe that it was worth doing.
