What are your art inspirations?

Loaded question! 

But I'll start with the obvious and say my partner, Yugo, is one of my biggest inspiration, it was very encouraging to use shapes however I want! 🥰

1. Al Columbia 

If you know horror, then you probably know al Columbia. One of my biggest inspiration when it comes to disturbing art

2. Wilfred Lam

Probably one of my favorite old artists, the shapes he uses is everything I could ever dream of

3. Masaaki Yuasa

Both in art and Animation

His art led me to make weird looking guys but also his animation is very expressive. Reminds me that I can get wacky with it too

4.Tove Jansson

Love her art style and coloring. However it's her line art and environments that really catches my eyes, she was a very interesting person to read about, I recommend learning about her since I know people are big moomin fans on here

5. Francis Bacon 

The visceral feeling he puts in his art. Another interesting person to read about but watch out!

asking you silly little quastions: favorite color? is your favorite color to wear different from your favorite color to make art with? favorite shape? favorite weather vs the best weather for taking a nap? warm soup or a cold drink?

Mustard yellow for art, green to wear!

Maybe rectangle for shape, I use it a lot in art lol

Like it when it's a lil windy and sunny, best for sleep is a rainy night

Do you have any art tips on creating your own art style?

You'll never draw with 100% consistency, embrace that and if you're like me, encourage that 

I find drawing with pen helps a ton with accepting inconsistency in my own art 

If there's something about your style you don't like, you can change it. You don't need to stick with a brand of art style. You have the power to do that and you shouldn't feel bad about it.

If there's something you don't know how to draw, draw it anyways and as badly as you can. Then look at other artists and "Keep Drawing Bad" until you eventually don't.

Really look at other artists, especially those who are not in your brand of art. 

Love anime but hate modern art? Too bad go learn about it 

Into landscape paintings? Check out architecture 

Doing the same 3/4 character poses? Look at vintage posters or magazines ads

What you put into your mind is what can inspire you to draw new ways. I suggest going to library and museums for this sort of thing, trust me you'll find that one artist no one has heard about that you'll feel connected to.

And the most important, draw for yourself. While it might be fun to mimic an art style. You might set yourself up for a stressful art experience if you make it Your Official style. Everyone draws in different ways, giving yourself rules to follow might not work in the long run, especially when you force it on yourself.

That's why when you feel like giving that rubberhose character other eyes than the classic pacman, maybe you should let that feeling take over.

Is there something you can say about your project?

You're not gonna see anything about it anytime soon but I hope to announce something about it before the end of the year

I'm about 1/3 done with what I'm doing tho!

Oh not at all lol

No this project is fully independent, I just chose to do that because I get stuff done easier without external pressure

Not saying anything until I'm almost done basically gets me excited to finish something

What do you think were the most classic toys/dolls/etc of your childhood?

Thinking of some is hard but I definitely loved all the plushies I grew up with

I'd be the guy who has forbidden eldritch wisdom but dies because I told the main characters about it
