SAVE THIS POST Protip ✔️aligning values with actions in 2021 I’m doing a much needed self-audit as 2020 comes to an end and looking at the myriad ways my actions fall short when it comes to living my values and beliefs 💯. I’m trying to nudge myself to be better through small steps to do the next right thing. But sometimes automatic habits and cognitive biases dominate my thinking 🤔and that’s ok (as long as I keep improving). Like buying a live🎄this season when I know the dire consequences of the climate crisis happening now and yet still supporting an industry that cuts down young 🌲🌲🌲from the forest. My emotional and cultural affinity to it clouded my judgment to buy it. 2021 = year of commitment for aligning values with actions💯. I already cast my vote during early voting and took my daughter with me so she could learn the monumental historical significance of this election. If we promote diversity in the workplace then why don't we value and promote diversity of our ecosystems that help us solve real-life problems like using coral reefs for medicine and using sharks for #covid vaccines? If we value empowering women and girls then why aren’t employers giving #equalpayday and promoting equality as a measure of walking the talk? I need to confess that I recently stepped out of my comfort zone and what happened will surprise you!
 VICTORY DANCE. Go to my stories to see which dancer is me.
My friend (also named Natalie) loves to take every dance class in town and I decided to try the West African dance class with LIVE DRUMMING outdoors with her this past wknd. My last dance class was learning Michael Jackson’s Thriller 15 years ago at Halloween so I’ve been outta the scene for a long time. The presidential election results were announced during our class so the honking and street party was assembling around us downtown. Our movements became a victory dance for the much needed change next year.

TRANSFORMATION. GROWTH.
A new pattern and routine good for the body and brain has developed in my life. Movement, cardio, and new neural connections with learning a new activity and memory sequencing. Saturday morning dance is a good new habit to build on for continuing on the path of transformative new growth and self-discovery.
