Happy Friday! With just one episode left of our series, we wanted to share some highlights with you all. First up are these lovely BTS videos for you of recording. The first one is the powerhouse that is Robyn throwing everything they have into chopping wood. You can feeeeeeeel the strength in their performance.
Video description under the cut!
[Video description: A video of Robyn Holdaway in a carpeted room in front of a poster for the documentary film Sisters with Transistors. Robyn is a slender, androgynous white person wearing a printed t-shirt and khaki trousers. Behind them, Ella is sitting wearing headphones with her laptop in her lap. Ella is a white woman wearing a bright pastel jumper and rainbow socks. She's giggling. Robyn says, while rolling up their sleeves: "Let's, let's get into it. For the, for the 'gram. This is me with far less gym in me, for the...alright, we'll get there." Robyn then clears their throat, mimes picking up a piece of wood and chopping it, making effort sounds. They proceed to perform a take of the wood-chopping scene from episode 8 of Camlann.]
sometimes i get really angry and frustrated at kara’s birth parents like. especially when it becomes apparent that she not only has this “i was sent to earth to protect it at any cost” mentality but literally had it from the time she was a child and i’m like. alura you know what would’ve been helpful is if you. would have gone to earth with her. to take that burden upon YOURSELF instead of putting it on her and to, you know, protect your own 13 year old daughter instead of expecting her to fend for herself and her baby cousin
like i get that alura felt that she should die along with krypton for her mistakes, but imo that was a selfish choice. the braver and more responsible thing to do would’ve been to live.
So if you’re Supergirl, I got to kill you. Well. Let’s see. I’m wearing a big yellow S on my chest. And a very fashionable red skirt. So if I’m not Supergirl… Who the &#%% do you think I am?
I cannot wait to hear about the travels that my good friend Jonathan Harker is about to embark upon, I hope his time abroad is delightful and definitely nothing bad is going to happen to him at all.
TL note by anon: * basal dog breeds: not sure how scientifically sound this is (only did a cursory search to confirm I was using the right term, because normal dictionaries only translate genshu as "purebred" and it didn't make any sense in this context ^^") but they're a number of specific breeds that are not exactly ancient but they did differentiate earlier than most other dog breeds - shiba are among these obviously.

A few more observations of my own:
On another version of the kobolds from daydream hour 2 (slightly different from "The complete Daydream Hour") Ryoko Kui Mentions the breeds as "Jackals, African Wild Dogs or wolves" which I think its interesting.
I don't know much about DnD so I thought it was strange most Kobolds showed up as lizard people when I searched them on google and I learned that Kobolds are popularized as dogs in japan due to D&D first edition describing them as having dog faces. This was the post that first made me aware of that.
Repainted this sketch from last year, in honour of DRACULA DAY tomorrow!
I'll be reblogging all the old sketches from last year, on their respective days, and hopefully throwing in some new paintings along the way, too! But for now, have Jonathan Harker, about to embark on his Very-Normal-And-Totally-Not-A-Nightmare Business Trip!
